San José traffic is a hard pull to swallow. The volcanos are covered by clouds so you may travel 2-3 hours and see nothing. The white water rafting was the highlight of the trip but not much to do. San Jose is extremely expensive. Prices are comparable to USA expensive resort prices. Ex: $4 for a soda. Also they have taxes for everything and then they ask you for more money. Their tipping is out of control

I’ve visited San Jose Costa Rica many times since the 1970s.
I’ve visited San Jose Costa Rica many times since the 1970s. It’s gotten completely jammed with traffic, but it is a beautiful city with lots to see and admire. My favorite is the old concert hall, which I’m blanking on the name, but it is the only concert hall I believe in the city. Being a city it’s always important to watch your pockets, and this is become a problem, the last couple decades. The people in general are very charming and it is definitely worth a visit.

I didn’t really like anything.
I didn’t really like anything. The front desk made me carry my bag up 4 flights of stairs. The room was so hot when I got inside. There was no coffee in the rooms at all and I asked multiple time for it. The shower was also clogged.

San Jose as city is not too much to believe as other cities...
San Jose as city is not too much to believe as other cities and is a crowded city We stayed at the outside skirts of San Jose where you have more nature, mountains/scenery and less city life and visited the city several times.

If you like a big city, San Jose is great.
If you like a big city, San Jose is great. We live in southern Costa Rica and only go to San Jose for doctor visits and shopping. It's best to take a taxi or Uber in San Jose. The traffic is crazy. Be sure to use the WAZE app instead of Google for driving around. It stays more up to date.
The property was nice and was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is very far from the center of San Jose. A lot of tour companies use this hotel as the starting point to their tours of Costa Rica. If you want to be in San Jose which is very nice to visit do not stay here. It is far from the airport and anything that San Jose has to offer. It will cost you an expensive taxi or Uber ride to get to San Jose and back to the hotel.
The food was so so and expensive. It is better to go out of the hotel to eat.
The owner and the stuff members were sooo friendly and helpful! They helped me with everything I needed and I even enjoyed it more being there because of their kindness.
The room was quite big, there was enough space to store my stuff and even a couch. The living and kitchen area in the hotel were cosy and from the balcony you could see beautiful lights from San Jose. The breakfast was delizioso.
They even served me breakfast early in the morning when I had to leave.
The property was absolutely beautiful with amazing views of the skyline. There are many outdoor areas with lots of seating. Very peaceful. The staff was incredibly accommodating and understanding. I had a delayed flight and they waited well after hours for me to arrive. They also helped with the car the next day. Very friendly and professional. I have found my San Jose hotel! Already about to make another reservation. I highly recommend this property!
Great little property close to downtown - easy access to public transportation. The owners of the property made us feel very welcome - the rooms are small but have all the essentials that you need for a stay in San Jose - very comfortable beds, well appointed bathroom and the in room safe. A delicious breakfast was also included in the room rate - with the option to purchase more if you so desire - but bread, jam and poached eggs were great.
Stayed in a twin room. Bed was a good size and comfortable. Aircon in the room was good and not very loud. Shower pressure was a little on the weak side. Hairdryer was good. Nice to have a pool at the hotel. Had breakfast and one dinner here. Both were nice. There is a big park nearby. Took ubers to the restaruant area of San Jose and to the airport. Much cheaper than getting taxis.
The hotel is close to San Jose Central Market, supermarkets and stores. There is a Soda right around the corner, and it seems secure to walk around the area. The manager gives you a pair of keys for the main entrance and the bedroom. There is enough space in the lounge/reception to store your luggage while you wait to check-in. It seems to be a secure building.
Cute hotel in a heritage building just outside the central district of San Jose. Super friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, great location. The cafe/breakfast area is beautiful and there is a fantastic restaurant attached to the hotel. Great option for a night or two in San Jose!
I have stayed at this hotel many times. I love the feel of going slightly back in time! Beautiful lobby with a grand piano that's played every night! Very nice pool area, and the grounds are beautiful. Only place I will stay while in San Jose.
Stayed at the Sleep Inn for one night before joining a tour group. The Hotel is centrally located and walkable for sightseeing in downtown San Jose and the rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. Happy we chose this hotel among all the others.
Great Hotel with super prices! I stayed there a few nights...Payed the same I sometimes do for hostel dorms but had a very good, clean private room. Location is 5 minutes walk from downtown area and the people are nice and helpful
The location of the hotel is great, close to downtown and there are many nice restaurants within walking distance. The staff there are friendly, the decorations of the public areas are unique, definitely has its own personality.
As with most of Costa Rica, fabulous, helpful staff and a great buffet breakfast. Rooms were large and comfortable and it's a great location from which to explore the old, buzzy area of San Jose.
I liked that the hotel was close to the airport, downtown San Jose & Multi Plaza mall. The bed was very comfortable & the bathroom was nicely renovated. The Breakfast had a nice selection.
I loved the location, it is just in the downtown of San Jose, plus everything is around the corner, food, tourist places, parks, museums. All that just in a 5-minute walk.
Just around downtown san jose. Basic but clean hotel. Personel did not speak english, but tried her best and was friendly. Breakfast was like the hotel: basic but fine.
Good location for proximity to both downtown San Jose and the airport. Good breakdfast with several options. The pool and the pool area a nice escape from the city.
The hotel is close to the bus terminal, the area is a little run down but not the worst in San Jose. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was clean.
