The location of the property was remote, which was exactly what we were looking for to start our trip. Thomas, the owner of the property, was an incredibly hospitable host who made us feel like we were staying with a close friend. He provided us with everything we needed to be comfortable, including towels for both the pool and shower, and other items we may have forgotten to bring. Additionally, he gave us many helpful suggestions for tours, food, and anything else we wanted to know. We had the property all to ourselves for the first day, which made it feel like our own personal oasis. The property boasts two pools - one warmer than the other (best enjoyed later in the evening) and one that was perfect for cooling off during the day. Each day we were provided with breakfast (toast, jam, juice, coffee/tea and fresh fruits).
Set on a 60 hectars farm in the spectacular Tambor Hills, Fidelito Ranch and Lodge offers accommodations surrounded by private gardens, tropical forest and small streams.

Beautiful location, the walk with the owner was stunning and the kitchen had everything needed for making meals. A perfect place to relax and explore the area.

This was an unbelievably beautiful property! The dining area, pool side, and property are exceptional! The view from this hilltop location was great; it was breezy and pleasant even on a hot day. The staff were very kind and welcoming and the food is fabulous!! The included breakfast is wonderful and we had 2 delicious dinners as well. Great atmosphere!

I loved the view, the breakfast options, the ability to wake up in a forest like environment.

Playa Tambor is a sleepy little village, very quiet.
Playa Tambor is a sleepy little village, very quiet. The beach itself is very nice, especially when the tide is out, there are large sand flats. There is a small resort just off the beach called the Tambor Tropical resort which we used for drinks and lunch, very nice, all outdoor tables and bar, great staff.
We spent one day at Santa Theresa beach, about 45 minute drive away. Fantastic beach, busy beach town, great if you want to watch the surfers, go for a beautiful long walk or lounge around on the beach. Not that great for actual swimming since it is quite flat, you need to walk out a long way to get to your waist. We didn't eat while there so I can't comment on restaurants except to say there where lots of them.
We found the whole area beautiful and intend to visit again.

The hotel is very well looked after and clean.
The hotel is very well looked after and clean. Food was good not great but no complaints. Drinks were simple but adequate No real mojito here. Very little English speaking workers and was frustrating. I personally would not recommend the hotel unless you spoke Spanish. The hotel is shooting themselves in the foot by not attracting guests I would not recommend the hotel to family and friends for that reason and we heard that from many English guests
The Disco at night had no one in it and the music blasted so load with the base boom boom boom till 3 am
Wrong music for the majority of your travellers and started at 11 pm to late for many
Staff was friendly and wanted to help just that language barrier
When you went out to eat any place on the property the staff are oblivious if you require more coffee or water or wine. You have to flag them down

Small village, isolated - at the bottom of the peninsula. Road to get there is slow and curvy (suggest only driving during daylight, if you are driving a rental). Great restaurants and has a local grocery store. ATM about 5min away, or a full bank / ATM about 20min drive (Cobano town).

Tambor is a strange place, dominated by a big all-inclusive resort hotel and a massive golf community development, which together make the beach access very limited, unfortunate for anyone who doesn't stay or live at either place. There are not a lot of restaurants or a real centre to Tambor and we ended up going to Cobano for shopping and dining and spent a great day in Montezuma, where we would go back to in the future.

The place it’s self is in an ideal location.
The place it’s self is in an ideal location. However, the rooms are dated and need updating. You can only eat there and I just found the food a little expensive and not particularly inspiring. We traveled around Costa Rica and stayed at 4 different places. This was the least enjoyable part of our trip. We spent 3 nights there I wish we had stayed in Santa Teresa and Hermosa longer. The food is far superior and cheaper in these areas and more reflective of Costa Rica. This is probably an ideal location for the older traveller as it’s quite and on the beach. The water was almost inaccessible as the waves dump you back on the beach. So we had to use the 3 pools they have which are small the water was almost jacuzzi hot and not pleasant.
Staff were great and helpful so no complaints there.
The golf course unless you have your own clubs I would give a miss due to the dated equipment you hire.

TOO FAR.
TOO FAR. IT TOOK US ABOUT 3 AND A HALF HOURS TO GET THERE FROM THE AIRPORT. THE DRINKS WERE AWFUL! WE ASKED FOR MARGARITAS, OHHH MY GOD! JUST LEMONADE WITH SALT! TERRIBLE! WE JUST HAD BEER BECAUSE THE LIQUOR WAS JUST PLAIN INFERIOR!
SAME FOOD EVERY SINGLE DAY!
What a wonderful place! I stayed in room 501 which had direct views over the sea. It was huge, extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean. I only stayed for one night but, boy, was it worth every penny. The hotel is peaceful and secluded and has a lovely pool and/or dining area to relax in, when the sand gets too hot. The beach is absolutely stunning! And because it's remote, there's hardly anyone on it. I just sat and watched the pelicans playing in the water all day. Pure bliss.
The location is very quiet , looking out over the sea. It is about a 4km drive into the village and actual Tambor beach. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place. Beautiful pool looking at the sea, very nice casita, comfortable bed, good air conditioning. 2 burner gas range works well. We saw whales, howler monkeys, tons of birds. Even macaws flying through.
We loved our stay here. Will recommend to friends and family planning a trip to the region for sure and if we're back in the area will definitely come back to see Thomas and his beautiful hotel. Beautiful private rooms, AC worked wonderfully, pool was basically private as no one used it while we were there, and we saw howler monkeys and Scarlett macaws. Incredible spot!
Blue Zone Retreat is located close to the main road, but distant enough so one doesn't hear the cars.
The Yoga deck is great and enjoyable.
Tambor beach is 5 minutes walk and you find some decent restaurant.
The stay was very nice although we were travelling without a car.
I love staying at Tambor Tropical. This is my 4th stay. It is oceanfront, very quiet and calm unlike Santa Teresa. You are still near enough to Montezuma and Santa teresa to visit for the day or for a nice meal but staying at TT is like a little slice of paradise.
Breathtaking views. An amazing place for our family to relax. The rooms had outdoor access to the wonderful out door space. The kitchen was small but equipmented for cooking. The pool
overlooking the ocean was amazing. The town of Tambor was small and wonderful
The setting was beautiful, tranquil, surrounded by fields and forest. Excellent for morning birding walks and a short walk from Tambor beach. William, the manager, was a lovely man, very friendly and helpful. Fresh sea bass from the local fishermen on the BBQ.
The hotel is set in the most stunning location. Waking up to the sound of the ocean, walking along the most beautiful beach, exploring the property and the chilled atmosphere made this just the most wonderful experience.
Beautiful and spacious accommodation with the most comfortable bed. The hotel is so close to the beach and provided easy access for swimming and canoeing. We were also able to see a baby turtle released to the sea.
The included-breakfast was delicious & satisfying. Served by a staff this is attentive & friendly. Everyone we encountered at the hotel was genuinely friendly & showed that they cared about our experience.
Lodge Margouillat was an oasis for us. We spent a month in Costa Rica and loved our stay at the lodge. It felt remote and isolated but it was a short drive to beach towns all around the area.
It was right on the beach, the food in the buffet was really good, the staff were very nice and friendly, and is in a very quiet relaxation environment. Growns were well kept.
Will come back there anytime I have a chance. It’s a marvelous piece of land owned by a marvelous couple. A 3 stars hotel that goes ahead the 5 stars around, easily.
beautiful hotel with a lot of activities, Nice
employees and beach in front. also it’s full wheelchair accessible (except the beach there is no special stuff)
