San José traffic is a hard pull to swallow.
San José traffic is a hard pull to swallow. The volcanos are covered by clouds so you may travel 2-3 hours and see nothing. The white water rafting was the highlight of the trip but not much to do. San Jose is extremely expensive. Prices are comparable to USA expensive resort prices. Ex: $4 for a soda. Also they have taxes for everything and then they ask you for more money. Their tipping is out of control

I’ve visited San Jose Costa Rica many times since the 1970s. It’s gotten completely jammed with traffic, but it is a beautiful city with lots to see and admire. My favorite is the old concert hall, which I’m blanking on the name, but it is the only concert hall I believe in the city. Being a city it’s always important to watch your pockets, and this is become a problem, the last couple decades. San jose as a city is not something wow aside for some natural parks there is not much to see. But there are a lot of places outside san jose that are beautiful cause costa rica is a country with so much green that i can t even explain

San Jose as city is not too much to believe as other cities and is a crowded city We stayed at the outside skirts of San Jose where you have more nature, mountains/scenery and less city life and visited the city several times.

If you like a big city, San Jose is great. We live in southern Costa Rica and only go to San Jose for doctor visits and shopping. It's best to take a taxi or Uber in San Jose. The traffic is crazy. Be sure to use the WAZE app instead of Google for driving around. It stays more up to date.GaryCosta Rica

Pool/bar area is very luxurious. Adjacent to several shops, a spa, grocery, food truck court (very nice, with a large, collaborative patio area, and restaurants. Also very close to the San Jose airport. We will return to this magnificent hotel again!

Staff provided umbrellas during the rains and often met us at the security gate to assist us when we returned. They always went above and beyond to provide the kindest service.

Every time I am in San Jose , Costa Rica I stay in Hotel El Maragato , but they been totally booked at the time of booking. The price was 58 US dollars I paid 60 and they wanted 2 dollars more ., that in colones would over 1..160 colones. Why three women yelling and screaming took from me over 6 thousand colones I really do not know. Place has 90 procent bad reviews.

Taxi to airport around 25 minutes. Taxi to main Tracopa bus station about 10 minutes. Staff organised taxi for us and it arrived with in minutes. High recommend hotel.

It's a little way out of the centre of San Jose, but very convenient for the airport, with a free bookable shuttle.
