With more canals than Amsterdam and Venice combined and over 2,300 bridges, Hamburg is an independent city-state with Europe’s second-busiest port and one of Germany's most popular soccer teams, Hamburg SV.
No trip to Hamburg is complete without a visit to the city’s old warehouse district, Speicherstadt, and the popular harbor promenade, the Landungsbrücken. The best and most popular way to explore the city is by boat or ferry so you can truly admire the stunning architecture and the city’s waterways.
The impressive City Hall and the popular St. Michaelis church will awe any visitor, and music fans should look for the Indra and the Star Club, where the Beatles played between 1960 and 1962. For a different look at Hamburg, moonlit strolls on the Reeperbahn will bring visitors through the largest red light district in Europe. Hamburg is famous for its local dishes, Birnen, Bohnen and Speck, Aalsuppe and open-faced sandwiches with cold-smoked or pickled fish. The laid-back cafés of Schanze neighborhood and barbecues on a beach along the Elbe River are great ways to relax after a day of sightseeing.
The city center is accessible from Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel Airport and Hamburg-Lübeck Airport using either train or bus services. Whether you’re looking for a luxury hotel, traditional apartment or youth hostel, Booking.com has everything you need for a vacation in Hamburg.

Hamburg is a beautiful city, enhanced by the friendliest people. We stayed at the Crown Plaza Alster, a picturesque part of town with the most beautiful greenery and flowers. Exploring the city on foot was the best option. It allowed us to see the sights and taste local cuisine and drinks. The Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour was however not worth the price. Be aware that there are various bus lines/routes and your ticket is purchased for a particular route. A visit to the City Hall is a must. Don't forget to go inside. My favourite restaurant was Opitz - excellent food, atmosphere and service. My favourite takeaway was Ali's Gemusekebab in the main mall and for sundowners and a meal, you must visit Anleger 1870.

Hamburg is Germany's second city, and the port covers apparently ten percent of the city footprint, so maritime topics are very much a part of this city. The people are very friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised, that they say good morning to you in lifts, and if they sit next to you on a park bench! The city is very easy to get around, as the metro works so well, and the railways station has connections to so many places! In spite of being such a busy city, it doesn't feel overcrowded or stressful at all, and has lots of open spaces. I would love to go back!

If you are coming to Hamburg from another German city by train it is closer from Koeln. Otherwise it's better to arrive by plane.
Hamburg is a city for people who have interest in harbours & ships.
There were more local than foreign visitors.
If you would like to visit the museums as well - it's better to have 2 full or 3 days.

We were there mid-April and the cherry blossoms and other flowers around the hotel and the Alster were in full bloom and absolutely gorgeous :). When we were there, the weather was perfect, but it can be a bit cold and windy, but wear proper clothing and all is good :)

I have often visited Germany as our daughter lived in Heidelberg for 10 years. However, this was my first trip to Hamburg and I would like to return. My son and I came to visit Miniatur Wunderland which was absolutely fantastic. Travelling round Hamburg was very cheap and easy due to excellent public transport. There were plenty of places to eat and we found prices to be generally very reasonable. Hamburg couldn't help the cold and wet weather we experienced so a return in the summer would be sensible!

We arrived to our hotel site in the rain.
We arrived to our hotel site in the rain. There is no drive up in front of the building, no parking close to the building so you can check in. You have to go to the 8th floor to check in and rooms are on 3rd, 4th and 5th floors. They put us in a room with a SMALL bed (full or 3/4 size), there were exactly 2 towels. There was one glass. It was a tiny room. I personally would not recommend this hotel to my friends or others. The breakfast service was good.
Very clean room and bathroom. The hotel was able to provide us with a kettle and teacups for us to use throughout our stay, which transformed our experience for the better. The location was perfect- right in the centre of Hamburg's tourist area, near shops, supermarkets, the lake, restaurants, etc. Our room was at the back, overlooking a parking lot, so very quiet except for when restaurants threw out bottles occasionally.
Great location, 5 minutes from the Reeperbahn and in the fun St Pauli district. An unlooked-for bonus was the small smoking lounge, a rarity these days. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was big, bed comfortable. Bathroom adequate. We were able to park right on the street straight in front of the hotel, for nothing, so that was very handy. Also Hamburg seems like a great city, from our experience.
The best location one can have. The staff were very friendly and our questions were answered. The Internet was very good for my two hours meeting that l had. It's around 200 m from the train station but on a very frequented sleep. We had a good night and the breakfast was not so big but enough to start our day. Will definitely consider this hotel if l ever visit Hamburg again
The bed, bath and general room were spacious. The hotel was well-maintained and clean. I found the staff helpful in notifying me of the rules/regulations in Hamburg during these difficult COVID-19 times. Niclas Dannhaeuses helped me book a test at the nearby test centre (all the instructions were in German so I could not navigate the website by myself).
The only half-good things about this hotel were the location and the room. The hotel is next to the main train station and shopping streets of Hamburg, so it's comfortable to go to the city centre.
The room was really comfortable for both of us and had everything we needed for our 3-day stay (would not recommend it for any more than that though).
The hotel was perfect located 2 stops behind the central train station. The bus stop was just across the street and with the Hamburg Card you can get around Hamburg very easy and cheap (bus, subway and ferries). Good selection of complimentary drinks in the room (icetea, apple juice, water and coffee).
In a good location with walking distance to main sites in Hamburg. Friendly staff and bonus Privat parking ( paid 15 euros a day) considering location that was good. Nice room and clean. Compare to other hotels the price was worth it. Especially compared to the cheaper hotels near by.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff and ideal location in the centre of Hamburg. The room was very quiet and the curtains meant it would be very dark (if you wanted) for an ideal night’s sleep. Kids having their own bunk beds a real bonus.
it was close to city center, by the river... all hotels are so expensive in Hamburg, this is also expensive for the room but cheaper than all other hotels close to the city center... hot water was good... for 1 night, it was good
Very clean and organised hotel. Quirky design and accommodating staff. A street away from Reeperbahn you're close to the action but not in the middle of it.
Cheap price in June, perfect choice for a short Hamburg trip
Clean, modern, very friendly staff, metro station located right outside the hotel with a direct connection to the city centre. Also walking distance to a nice street with lots of restaurants and little shops.
Friendly staff. The room had all amenities for a couple of days' stay. Easy to reach from the city centre (25-30 mins by S-Bahn) and it was nice to experience another neighbourhood in Hamburg. se
The location is in a desirable part of Hamburg, close to all the amenities required close to the centre of Hamburg.
We will revisit the Hotel on our next visit to Hamburg.
Pretty cheap for city centre, good value for money.
The room was as expected.
Staff was available over the phone. Check in was simple with a keybox outside the motel.
The breakfast is amazing, has a lot of options. The stuff is very kind and accommodated all our needs. The hotel is always my choice every time I'm visiting Hamburg.
Good and relatively cheap parking facilities behind the hotel. I would certainly like to stay there at my next visit to Hamburg.
Very polite and helpful staff.
Close to the Central station and restairants closeby. The rooms are comfortable, clean and breakfast is perfect. I highly recommemd this hotel in Hamburg.
