FAQs about hotels in Frankfurt

The Beating Heart of Europe

Located near central Germany, Frankfurt is not simply the beating heart of the country, it’s also the lifeblood of the European Union.

The German Federal Bank and the European Central Bank are based here, so naturally this is a city where commerce thrives. In fact, the skyline is so punctuated by skyscrapers that Frankfurt is affectionately known as Mainhattan, a pun on the Main River that slowly meanders through the city.

Lining its banks is Museumsufer, a district with over 20 museums including Goethe’s birthplace and the Frankfurt Historical Museum. The tower of the Gothic-style Frankfurt Cathedral, which played an important role in the Holy Roman Empire, has impressive views of it all.

In the shadow of the modernist architecture remain traces of quintessential Germany. The reconstructed half-timbered facades in Römer square are picture perfect, and the cobbled streets of Fressgass are always full of locals deciding which café to dine at.

Served by Frankfurt Airport - one of the world’s busiest - this pumping city is always on the move. This means that hotels in Frankfurt get booked up pretty quickly, so book early with Booking.com to secure the accommodations of your choice.

Only the suburbs is worthy a visit.

Only the suburbs is worthy a visit. In the city centre, it was crowded with junkies, beggars and trash. Oriental teenagers try to find conflicts with you anywhere. And the main station is literally a drug lab with dealing and consuming people. The folk is generally unfriendly and you can hear sirens nonstop because whether some crimes or some emergencies continuously happen. Shortened: don’t go to Frankfurt for vacations.

I've visited Frankfurt many times over the past 30 yrs.

I've visited Frankfurt many times over the past 30 yrs. The taxi drivers have become deplorable. Arrogant, not willing to assist elderly/ill passengers, and ill informed on locations. Love Frankfurt for its cleanliness, abundance of trees, good maintenance and diversity of architecture.

Frankfurt is a great and fun city.

Frankfurt is a great and fun city. We were there for 7 days- 3 days were for a tango dance marathon at La Cuerda. The other 4 days were shopping and sight seeing for me, and work related days at the University for my husband. Our trip coincided with a running marathon. Lots of folks, lots of activity. So much fun. We ate Italian, Indian and German foods. Getting around Frankfort- very easy. I walked everywhere. My husband took the tram easily. We took Uber and taxi to and from the airport. Everyone we met was friendly and gracious. Hint- learn a few basic German salutations before you go.

We only stayed one night in Frankfurt, just so we could...

We only stayed one night in Frankfurt, just so we could catch our international flight out early the next day. Instead of staying near the airport, we staying in the city centre near the main train station. The connection to the airport via the S-bahn is excellent, though the S8 wasn't with the other S-bahn lines on the street and we hunted for a while. The biggest impression though was the neighbourhood. Lots of dodgy people loitering, with drug paraphernalia on the street. In broad daylight even. Seriously out of it people asking for money. We did not feel safe. Not going back. Frankfurt, clean up your drug problem - it's hurting tourism! Maybe other parts of the city are better, but we were only there over night and didn't see any more. For further info check out the Google Maps reviews of the parking buildings near the train station. Dire.

Frankfurt is a beautiful city, except around Frankfurt HBF. The area around the station, in my opinion, has fallen on hard times and I would not recommend walking alone at night around the area. Besides that the city is beautiful, clean, and a joy to visit.

This is a great location if one needs to be near the airport. There is a small grocery store just behind the hotel and a couple of restaurants nearby. The room was very large, and clean. Check-in is done seamlessly through an online system. I booked for two nights, but we were getting into Frankfurt in the very early morning. I contacted the staff to let them know that we would not be checking in until very late/early (so that they did not give our room away). Received a courteous and quick response.

The location of this hotel is excellent. After a 10 to 15 minutes' walk, you can reach Römeberg to explore the city centre. There are shopping malls and a range of businesses. After that, you can walk along the riverside to appreciate the downtown view. I really enjoy the restaurant at the top of the hotel. It is a place where you can have fine dining or simply relax with a few drinks while taking in the views of the skylines in Frankfurt.

Hotel right next to the train station (Frankfurt Hbf), but in a quiet and safe-feeling location. Super convenient for getting to/ from the airport, as it takes only 12 min by S-bahn (S8, S9 run every 15 min). Nice clean room, on a small side. Comfortable beds, air-con, spacious bathroom; friendly reception. We asked for tea kettle and cups, and got them. Breakfast looked good, but we had to skip it to catch an early flight.
