The resorts are great, and food generally good. It would absolutely be possible to spend an entire week onsite and never leave. We chose to do activities one day and the next day hang out, which gave us the perfect amount of doing things and relaxing. All Dominicans we interacted with, whether they spoke my native tongue, English, or not, were helpful, friendly and fun. Be careful when shopping at small independent shops with currency, especially if you are quoted in US dollars and pay in DR pesos, I actually paid more than twice what I was told the item would cost, and was asked for almost 4 times the agreed upon amount. It was my fault for not checking exchange rates on the spot. I, however, feel extremely privileged and do not hold any ill feelings, while deceitful, it may be very helpful to the seller, and didn't hurt me at all. Would love to come back to Punta Cana anytime!

Absolutely beautiful beaches.
Absolutely beautiful beaches. Lovely Caribbean vibe on the beaches, with loungers, music, great fresh juice and fresh fruit cocktails. Outside the beaches it wasn’t our favourite place to visit, but for a beach vacation we definitely recommend it.

I booked a stay in White Sands at Residential Carey from January 1-April 30. The complex and grounds are beautiful Unit C1-2 is nice but it is tired. The pictures are not an accurate reflection of the unit. The curtains are dirty, the furniture is worn, uncomfortable and dirty. The mattresses are horrible. We have been battling termites and roaches. Gregory the care taker has been very attentive however the bug problem is still ongoing. There is no clubhouse and the shuttle is a hit and miss. The driver takes a siesta from 12-2 daily. There is really nothing to do in the area and if you have any mobility issues forget about walking. The local bus service is great. It only costs a $1 and it takes you to Jumbo to get your groceries. One month would have been more than enough here.
I did spend a weekend and at Cap Cana and I can’t say enough about how beautiful that place is. I loved it there. Lots to do and so many great restaurants.

We stayed in Bravaro Beach area.
We stayed in Bravaro Beach area. The beaches were super pretty! The water was gorgeous and clear (you could see fish swimming nearby from the surface). A good bit of seaweed, but not enough to be super annoying. There are vendors that will come up to you on the beach, but they aren’t super pushy (especially if you know a bit of Spanish)

The beaches and sea views are awesome.
The beaches and sea views are awesome.
People are very kind and proactive.
Negative: Be very careful at the airport! We almost got conned by an "exclusive" cab service. Luckily there was a very kind Tourist Policeman who helped us get our money back, and choose a professional transportation service.

OVER ALL, Punta Cana, Loc Corales Area is highly recommended...
OVER ALL, Punta Cana, Loc Corales Area is highly recommended if you want to experience local flavor and people.
HOWEVER.........Amenities advertised were FALSE at the Punta Cana Corales Hotel!!!
No paid airport transportation (they said "it did not say 'free' next to it"!.....what?!?!) , had to ask for MANY things on the advertised amenities list, the 'clothing line' was a moldy popup clothing closet, no hair dryer, broken vanity drawers, ONE electric outlet with EXPOSED wires!, waited 2 1/2 hours to check in because "the guy who speaks ANY English will not be here until later" and they did not even notify him to come check me in! - meanwhile people without reservations checked in and even paid less than my pre-paid rate!?
LOW LOW water pressure and limited hours to get hot water, and a 24 hour period without ANY water.
At the 6th day of 9 they gave me a 8 hour notice that they were going to paint my room and I had to move up 3 more floors for the remainder of the stay (NO elevators either).
THIS PLACE SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF OF YOUR SITE!!!!!!!!! TOTAL SCAM!!
Well, first time a review a hotel in like 10 years of booking so, let's do this:
- The food is amazing, delicious and very diversity. After Punta Cana Princess I went to a more expensive resort in Rep Dominicana and the food was not even close.
- The Beach is awesome, the swimming pool area is great, great staff, good drinks (even if you are not on the VIP section).
- I got a upgrade for my room in the check - in for a good price and get this amazing ocean view from my balcony, totally change my whole experience, fantastic.
Being the first time to Punta Cana, I was told I should book an all inclusive resort blah blah but I went ahead and booked with them and had the best experience. The friendly people, beautiful beach my daughter is a social bird so she really had fun getting to know people around. I was safe, respected, comfortable, happy, and it was peaceful right by the beach. Peaceful sleeps and not to forget th friendly, kind stuff there. Rooms are great and the breakfast very delicious. Looking forward to return back and book with them.
The facilities are amazing. The staff was the best I have ever experienced at a resort. The beach is clean and has a nice barrier around their beach area to keep out a majority of the seaweed, fish, and large waves. The entire swim area is completely sand under your feet. We like to spend more time at the pool, however because of this, we actually spent more time on the beach. We have been to a lot of all inclusive resorts and this one for sure will be a repeat for us, hopefully within a year.
Stable and fast wifi everywhere, even on the beach.
Almost everyone speaks English quite well.
Clean rooms with great sea view.
Tasty food in both buffet and restaurants.
Good cocktails in the evening.
Every evening there was a music concert, it was really pleasant to listen.
Overall friendly staff, I would say it was 5* service.
I really liked hotel territory, there was a feeling of privacy.
Despite the beach was dirty, I enjoyed the waves and free boards.
This is a great value for money hotel, nice clean rooms, professional and friendly staff always happy to help, and excellent location and very safe to walk around the area and the historical centre. I actually stayed three times during my holiday in Punta Cana as I really enjoyed my stay there in the first place and I am so grateful the reception and reservation departments assisted with my bookings. Thank you for your excellent customer service!
Definitely different, in a good way! I'm happy I read the reviews before hand and knew that the area is not what you would usually expect for a hotel.
The room itself was also very clean, nice setup and the stuff very trustworthy and helpful. This experience was beyond in many ways! Thanks for vacation, I would totally recommend it!
We were actually only for one night before leaving Punta Cana, with our two little kids 2 & 4! We loved it!
The staff at the hotel was the best in all our travels in the last 15 years. From the Manager Mr. Samuel Andujar, the cheft, the waiters, Mr. Máximo Medrano and special mention to our Front Desk Ms. Venencia. Thanks to all of them including our drivers in the resorts. You all made us feel welcome and because of you we won't hesitate on coming back with twice the group.
I liked the staff they were super friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the lazy river. The activities were great by/ in the pool area . There is a local fish / vendor market 2 mins from the resort on the beach. N safety was paramount. The security maintain the people ( vendors or hotel guest ) off the property. N they actually paid attention to what is going on.
Staff is very helpful and friendly, service is exceptional. Food is good, various restaurants to choose from, all inclusive, hotel activities and tours are a great value, my kids choose 7 x US$99. It included zip lining, horse ride, buggies and more. They loved. I recommend Catalonia Punta Cana, excellent for family, friends or couples vacations!
The location was near the beach
vibes were very lively
Rooms were very spacious and location of our rooms were amazing
All parties happened there were really fun
Staff was great
Food Truck serves the best food and breakfast was to yummy
We loved sitting in lobby
Loved the SPA services
people of Punta Cana are so kind, humble and happy people
The Good: The room was clean and I felt safe due to it being gated. All of the electrical outlets worked. The best part of the stay was the taxi driver that the staff referred me to. He was honest, timely and very friendly. I don’t recall his name but he calls himself the “#1 Taxi Driver in Punta Caña.” He can be reached at +1 (809) 772-6067.
This was 2nd hotel/resort we stayed during our family trip to Punta Cana. The pools were great, restaurants and dinning exceptional (9+ out of 10) - i still wonder how they manage to give so big variaty of quality food for so many people, some shows/enterntainment in the evening. Ovwrall felt like in high class place.
The best place in Punta Cana. its very close to the beach, there is hot water and bathroom, nice beautiful garden around. Reception was very helpful and hospitable. I hapenned to have a leg injury, so i must say that this hotel is accessible with crutches because you don't have to climb the stairs.
Restaurants were closed because of coronavirus but overall it was a very very safe environment and everyone made it so much fun and so comfy. I would go back one million times more. I have recommended this hotel to everyone of my friends travelling to Punta Cana,
to be honest this was my first time ever to stay at a all inclusive resort complex. so I didn’t really know what to except. I thought it was fantastic. really great location on the beach. Our hotel butler Tomas really gave us a personal feel to our how stay.
Absolutely cozy little secret hotel directly at the beach. If you dont like Resorts, I think this is the nicest place to stay in Bavaro / Punta Cana! Staff is super friendly, rooms are huge, food at the beachbar is high level, I will definitely come back
Beautiful scenery with the peacock’s & flamingos. Our room was right on the beach & pretty comfortable. The platinum buffet & the buffet in the very front of the hotel was satisfactory. Servers were nice & accommodating.
