I understand why so many northern countries migrates there for vacation. The beaches are splendid, the food is delicious and the Dominicans are very welcoming.
However, as friendly as they are, the vendors and tour operators are quite insistent to a point which I would consider it harassment. Speaking Spanish does go a long way to get some peace or have friendly interaction where they aren't just trying to get you to buy something. I think it has to do with the area because it's surrounded by all inclusive resort where tourists naturally have wealth to book these kind of vacation. Which is sad in my opinion because there is so much to experience from the Dominican culture, but it gets buried by this
constant pressure to purchase goods and services.
The beauty of the landscape and the warmth of the people should be enough to attract visitors, yet the commercialization of tourism often detracts from the authenticity of the experience. Despite these challenges, there are still opportunities to engage with local communities, explore hidden gems, and immerse oneself in the genuine essence of the Dominican Republic. It's just a bit harder around Punta Cana. It's a reminder that while tourism can bring economic prosperity, it should never come at the expense of cultural integrity

Stay was pleasant. Room clean and comfortable.
Stay was pleasant. Room clean and comfortable. Just want to remind all that there is a thief lurking amongst the hotel staff. I carried most of cash with me. Our cash money about four hundred dollars were missing from our wallet kept inside our bag. Only cash was stolen, laptop was not taken. This happened on our last day. He did it very cleverly, we went to the beach around one pm and returned at five pm. Late at night when we were packing we noticed the cash missing. Next day early morning we checked out. The locks to the room is very filmsy.

The resorts are great, and food generally good.
The resorts are great, and food generally good. It would absolutely be possible to spend an entire week onsite and never leave. We chose to do activities one day and the next day hang out, which gave us the perfect amount of doing things and relaxing. All Dominicans we interacted with, whether they spoke my native tongue, English, or not, were helpful, friendly and fun. Be careful when shopping at small independent shops with currency, especially if you are quoted in US dollars and pay in DR pesos, I actually paid more than twice what I was told the item would cost, and was asked for almost 4 times the agreed upon amount. It was my fault for not checking exchange rates on the spot. I, however, feel extremely privileged and do not hold any ill feelings, while deceitful, it may be very helpful to the seller, and didn't hurt me at all. Would love to come back to Punta Cana anytime!

Absolutely beautiful beaches.
Absolutely beautiful beaches. Lovely Caribbean vibe on the beaches, with loungers, music, great fresh juice and fresh fruit cocktails. Outside the beaches it wasn’t our favourite place to visit, but for a beach vacation we definitely recommend it.

I booked a stay in White Sands at Residential Carey from January 1-April 30. The complex and grounds are beautiful Unit C1-2 is nice but it is tired. The pictures are not an accurate reflection of the unit. The curtains are dirty, the furniture is worn, uncomfortable and dirty. The mattresses are horrible. We have been battling termites and roaches. Gregory the care taker has been very attentive however the bug problem is still ongoing. There is no clubhouse and the shuttle is a hit and miss. The driver takes a siesta from 12-2 daily. There is really nothing to do in the area and if you have any mobility issues forget about walking. The local bus service is great. It only costs a $1 and it takes you to Jumbo to get your groceries. One month would have been more than enough here.
I did spend a weekend and at Cap Cana and I can’t say enough about how beautiful that place is. I loved it there. Lots to do and so many great restaurants.
Paradisus Palma Real is a beautiful resort with stunning architectural design. Best location on one of the widest and most scenic sections of Punta Cana beach. Huge swimming pool. Several good specialty restaurants. Generally friendly and attentive staff at all levels. Carry a working cell phone everywhere you go as no menus, schedules or announcements are simply posted anywhere. You will be surrounded by QR codes which your phone needs to read. Covid testing required for a return flight home is free and available in the hotel.
We went here with my husband for our honeymonn. It was really fantastic stay. Personnel is always smiling and ready to help. Meals was different every day and delicious, we had large selection of drinks in bars. The stuff is also taking care about entertainment in the resort, every evening were organized animations. If we will ever come back to Dominican Republic we will choose this hotel again!
Thank you all from the personnel who made our stay so awesome.
This resort is definitely adults-only. The scenery is so beautiful. I arrived earlier than expected, around 8 am, and the hotel was able to give me the room with no hesitation. It was amazing to have room service and cleaning services every day. You also have your personal butler for your entire stay. Lastly, the food was pretty good, and the drinks were mediocre. If I return to punta cana, I will stay at this resort again.
recently stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly staff who made me feel right at home.
The room was spacious and beautifully decorated with a rock-n-roll theme that was both stylish and fun. The bed was extremely comfortable and provided a great night's sleep after a long day of activities.
We had a layover of 2 nights in the Dominican republic with flight in and out from Punta Cana. Ducassi Hotel was for us a perfect accommodation for our short stay with an excellent value for money.
Very comfortable and clean room. Abundant food for breakfast - I loved the pancakes.
We spent our full day at the beach which can be reached easily by the walking.
All of the staff were so service-oriented and welcoming! The environment just made us feel so good throughout the whole visit. The breakfast kicked off our days in the best possible way. Access to a nice gym and some really good golfcourses was adding a lot to the overall experience.
We’re already longing to revisit Westin Punta Cana.
Everything was excellent. Room view very nice, strightly on the beach. Sunbeds in premium area little bit comfortable, then in public area. Beer (Presidente) also is good. Staff very friendful, also barmans.
Good meal, on different restaurants, also very nice entertainment. so in beach and in other places
Recommend this hotel
We had a layover of 2 nights in the Dominican republic with flight in and out from Punta Cana. Sol Caribe Hotel was for us a perfect accommodation for our short stay with an excellent value for money.
Very comfortable and clean room. Very friendly people and positive vibes. Abundant food for breakfast - I loved the pancakes.
The worst hotel I’ve ever booked! They emailed me saying they are transferring my booking to a sister hotel but did not transfer! They just cancelled my booking without notifying me so I ended up arriving at Punta Cana with no hotels, and I had to book a new one on the spot with total cost almost double of original booking!
We enjoyed the hotel and all of its amenities. The place was beautifully maintained and the wait staff was excellent. I would highly recommend that if your looking for an all inclusive stay in the Dominican Republic go here. You will not be disappointed.
Barebones but surprisingly comfortable, safe and quiet hotel right in the area where all the bus stations are in Punta Cana.
It isn't on the beach but it is definitely cheap, worthwhile on a budget plus many stores and restaurants all around. Thmbs up!
We had a wonderful stay by this place. We totally enjoyed the hotel and the excursions. And what to say about the meals? Well, it was really good quality. We found a lot of nice places in the Punta Cana but this one surely deserves the number one place.
Stayed there 4 nights over the New years eve, apartment with comfy bed right on the beach with the view on the ocean! Everyhing i needed! Very nice and helpful staff. Very good price if you compare it with the expensive all inclusive hotels around...
Hotel very clean, wide choice of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, good wi-fi, staff always willing to help, big swimming pool, good entertainment programs, close to Punta Cana airport, a number of bars, shops and spa on-site
The Hotel is very nice, but not for me it is huge 3,000.00+ people, all loud and everywhere. The hotel was accommodating since they transferred me to the Riu Palace Punta Cana that was lovely quiet and very nice.
