I understand why so many northern countries migrates there for vacation. The beaches are splendid, the food is delicious and the Dominicans are very welcoming.
However, as friendly as they are, the vendors and tour operators are quite insistent to a point which I would consider it harassment. Speaking Spanish does go a long way to get some peace or have friendly interaction where they aren't just trying to get you to buy something. I think it has to do with the area because it's surrounded by all inclusive resort where tourists naturally have wealth to book these kind of vacation. Which is sad in my opinion because there is so much to experience from the Dominican culture, but it gets buried by this
constant pressure to purchase goods and services.
The beauty of the landscape and the warmth of the people should be enough to attract visitors, yet the commercialization of tourism often detracts from the authenticity of the experience. Despite these challenges, there are still opportunities to engage with local communities, explore hidden gems, and immerse oneself in the genuine essence of the Dominican Republic. It's just a bit harder around Punta Cana. It's a reminder that while tourism can bring economic prosperity, it should never come at the expense of cultural integrity

Stay was pleasant. Room clean and comfortable.
Stay was pleasant. Room clean and comfortable. Just want to remind all that there is a thief lurking amongst the hotel staff. I carried most of cash with me. Our cash money about four hundred dollars were missing from our wallet kept inside our bag. Only cash was stolen, laptop was not taken. This happened on our last day. He did it very cleverly, we went to the beach around one pm and returned at five pm. Late at night when we were packing we noticed the cash missing. Next day early morning we checked out. The locks to the room is very filmsy.

The resorts are great, and food generally good.
The resorts are great, and food generally good. It would absolutely be possible to spend an entire week onsite and never leave. We chose to do activities one day and the next day hang out, which gave us the perfect amount of doing things and relaxing. All Dominicans we interacted with, whether they spoke my native tongue, English, or not, were helpful, friendly and fun. Be careful when shopping at small independent shops with currency, especially if you are quoted in US dollars and pay in DR pesos, I actually paid more than twice what I was told the item would cost, and was asked for almost 4 times the agreed upon amount. It was my fault for not checking exchange rates on the spot. I, however, feel extremely privileged and do not hold any ill feelings, while deceitful, it may be very helpful to the seller, and didn't hurt me at all. Would love to come back to Punta Cana anytime!

Absolutely beautiful beaches.
Absolutely beautiful beaches. Lovely Caribbean vibe on the beaches, with loungers, music, great fresh juice and fresh fruit cocktails. Outside the beaches it wasn’t our favourite place to visit, but for a beach vacation we definitely recommend it.

I booked a stay in White Sands at Residential Carey from January 1-April 30. The complex and grounds are beautiful Unit C1-2 is nice but it is tired. The pictures are not an accurate reflection of the unit. The curtains are dirty, the furniture is worn, uncomfortable and dirty. The mattresses are horrible. We have been battling termites and roaches. Gregory the care taker has been very attentive however the bug problem is still ongoing. There is no clubhouse and the shuttle is a hit and miss. The driver takes a siesta from 12-2 daily. There is really nothing to do in the area and if you have any mobility issues forget about walking. The local bus service is great. It only costs a $1 and it takes you to Jumbo to get your groceries. One month would have been more than enough here.
I did spend a weekend and at Cap Cana and I can’t say enough about how beautiful that place is. I loved it there. Lots to do and so many great restaurants.
They think every detail for you, from check-in to check-out they all try to make you feel good. we stayed as family of 3, and they have special reception just for you, so you dont have to wait-welcome drinks&cookies they serve. There are different restaurants in the hotel and you can book to experience different world cuisines! there is NO additional cost! I cannot finish by writing how good they are, It was our first trip to Punta Cana but not the last we know it! Thank you Princess Bavaro family to make dreams come true!
This hotel is such a great place to stay if you are looking for some nice relaxing beach time. The owner Jorge and Angelica are amazing. They are super nice and helpful and made this stay a lovely experience. Their breakfasts are exceptionally good with lots of fresh fruit, eggs, toast and unlimited coffee. The beach is about a 10 min walk and it is beautiful and clean. I liked it so much there that I extended my stay.
When I come back to Punta Cana I will definitely stay in this hostel again.
This is a rare find for such a popular destination. My wife and I enjoyed taking walks on the beach and strolling to a wide selection of restaurants. Literally, right on the beach and with an excellent ocean view. We liked that it is not on the ground floor. A couple of flights of steps to get into the apartment. Very nice and comfortable bedroom with a well furnished shared living room and kitchen. Once again, we consider this a rare find for us while vacationing at Punta Cana.
Hotel was great and my daughter had a great time. However, they lied about having a disco/lounge for adults. The disco is a bar with an arcade. Another issue I had was the bathroom smelled terrible whenever I turned off the AC, two of the restaurants on the resort are not included in the all inclusive package and the food options for children could be a little better. Overall my stay was good besides those small complaints the hotel is beautiful and I enjoyed myself.
Staff was amazing, so positive and bubbly. Julio and his buffet team was our favorite and Christina and Adrian kept our drinks full. They catered to our every need. The facilities are only a year old so it was so beautiful, clean and modern. The hotel is right on the beach so we could hop between the pool and beach no problem.
Finally the food. We really enjoyed the food. Italian and French were our favorite restaurants and the lunch buffet desserts were fantastic.
The hotel is renovated and everything is great, amazing amenities. Food and drinks are great quality for all inclusive. Platinum option was definitely worth the money for the comfort on the beach, lobster dinner and restaurants available. We loved Soho and Tartufo but buffet availability is great too. In general we loved our stay and will be definitely back again some day.
Overall, I was surprised that the hotel was kept in good condition. The rooms are clean and renovated as well as air conditioning. The meals are still of a good standard.
The employees are helpful and cordial. The staff on the beach 4 - exelent !- Super Nelson, Gustabo, Rafael and Elena.
The GM of the facility is present and very hospitable - you see the new quality.
All of the staff were so service-oriented and welcoming! The environment just made us feel so good throughout the whole visit. The breakfast kicked off our days in the best possible way. Access to a nice gym and some really good golfcourses was adding a lot to the overall experience.
We’re already longing to revisit Westin Punta Cana.
Cleanest hotel we’ve ever been to with all the facilities you need, breakfast is amazing. Sandy took great care of us by showing us the finest beaches and good restaurants, she made a lot of effort to make us feel like home. We are very grateful to be hosted here - it’s the best way to start our trip in the Dominican Republic!
It is good airport hotel, if you arrive to Punta Cana late at night. They also provide a transfer from airport which is good. The room was clean and nice, breakfast was tasty and hearty. If you want to stay 1-2 nights, it is perfect choice. It is also located close to the bus station.
to be honest this was my first time ever to stay at a all inclusive resort complex. so I didn’t really know what to except. I thought it was fantastic. really great location on the beach. Our hotel butler Tomas really gave us a personal feel to our how stay.
We had a wonderful stay by this place. We totally enjoyed the hotel and the excursions. And what to say about the meals? Well, it was really good quality. We found a lot of nice places in the Punta Cana but this one surely deserves the number one place.
