We paid for an air-conditioned apartment, but got one without air con. The real estate agency said they never had air con and that we should complain to Booking.com if this didn't suit us. So we did. After Booking.com intervention we got a portable air conditioner, very noisy but better than nothing. The furniture and equipment was very old, worn-out and smelly, our sofa was absolute disgrace! Dirty, stinking and totally out-of-shape, sleeping was a nightmare. We complained several times and the guy from Immobilaria Canovas admitted that the sofa was in a horrible state and should be replaced but they never replaced it, instead they said that our children should sleep on it! The flat was full of strange paraphernalia, when we arrived all cupboards were full of strange objects and old rags, including a pornographic photo, found by our daughter! There were noisy roadworks just outside our apartment, the noise and strong smell of fumes woke us up at 6am every weekday. When you went out on the balcony, you could face a digging bucket or a giant hook something like 1 metre from your face. I think the worst thing was Immobilaria Canovas' indifference to our complaints, we paid a lot for our 2-week holiday, and returned with backbone problems after sleeping on that horrible and stinking old sofa. I suspect we got the worst apartment of all, so if you can, never agree to sleep in the EA (or AE) apartment on the ground floor.
Nice and clean swimming pool, garden, very close to the beach. If we had got a better apartment we would have been really pleased and would recommend Stella Maris because the location is fantastic (apart from the roadworks). Unfortunately, this wasn't the case.
