The location is phenomenal! I walked around quite a bit, and didn’t see anywhere else that had sea and Mountain View’s all in one. Also Maria is such a fabulous host! She made me feel like I was there part of the family - so comfortable, so friendly, so kind. Definitely recommend getting a balcony room bc it was precious and lovely.

seclusion. perfectly hidden away in walking distance to the village. it was perfect for us. it rained all night so the hot tub and sleeping under the limpid bubble while it was raining was pure nirvana. highly recommend to any couple looking for a romantic get away.

Located in a quiet street. The room was pretty okay, with a spacious bathroom. There was a refrigerator, water kettle, coffee machine, TV, etc. Good breakfast is included, and was served at a restaurant on the main square, which is a few blocks away from the property. Very good value in a nice village!

The house is amazing. Equipped with everything you need for a stay with a big group. We were 4 families with our kids and pets and had plenty of room for everyone both to spend time to chill and to enjoy meals together!
The outdoor spaces are amazing! We used the kitchen and the lower barbecue terrace for all our meals. Nights were getting chilly but it was no problem at all as with the 2 fireplaces it was easy to keep the entire house warm. Bathrooms were spacious and with everything we needed, too.
The owner offered us early entry and late checkout, which in total enlarged our stay by one extra day, which we are immensely grateful for.
We would love to repeat in the summer when we can give full use to the pool as well.

Set in the hillside mountain you find the truly Mediterranean white houses and buildings tiered up the mountainside. As one can imagine narrow streets and lots of steps, steep climb in Competa. Park the car and enjoy the walk, stop at one of the cafes and take in the atmosphere. However, if you are mobility impaired I would think otherwise. Once you are in Competa and at a view point embrace the surroundings. Reserve a table at Restaurant Pilon for a truly enjoyable meal.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Great town just to wander around, lovely little streets, plenty of photo opportunities. The restaurants in the square by the church serve very decent food - tapas and similar. Competa is located well for trips to the beach - Nerja, Maro being two we enjoyed and also for trips to the Alhambra and Rhonda (bit of a drive but worth it). Would not really like to drive on the winding road up to Competa in the dark! An April visit was a good choice, not too hot and spring flowers in abundance. An idyllic town on the verge of the mountains and natural park. There are a lot of expats but the town still has a very Spanish charm. Medical center open and very accessible if needed. Restaurante el Pilon has the best ever lamb chops grilled to perfection with char coal. Several small supermarkets so you won't get hungry even if you're self catering. People were very friendly in general.

Competa is a truly charming place, a hidden gem… we fell in love with it! A winding climb by car or bus to get to it, and quite hilly walking around the village so anyone with mobility issues would struggle. It is very picturesque with its white houses, pretty planting, central church and square, and traditional life depicted in ceramics. There are lots of good cafes and restaurants and everyone is very welcoming and friendly. We did not want to leave and we will be back 😍

Maurice was an amazing host and offered some great recommendations for walks, restaurants etc during our stay which meant we made the best use of our short trip! From the beginning my friend and I found it easy even to just sit and have a chat with them. They gave us some welcoming Moscatel Wine which is the local one there in Compéta. Apart from that, the location of the place was quite convenient to check out all the cool restaurants, bars and shops nearby. One last thing. Breakfast included was absuloutely amazing. So much thought and care put into it I was impressed!

Competa is a lovely village, with a busyling square, good restaurants and well syocked supermarkets. The surrounding area is stunning. The villa was spotlessly clean and the owners were very kind and helpful. The roads to Competa are very winding up into the mountains and the drive to the house itself is hairy, but we got used to it.
