Most beautiful palace I have ever seen! Huge! So be prepared to walk the gardens and fountains. Little hop on/off train or self drive buggies available to hire. The hotel is a 2 star hotel. The room and bathroom were functional but clean. No air con but they provided a good oscillating fan. Saw the royal apartments and the lit 36 fountains with music on the first s Saturday of June with fireworks, the Sunday we returned to the Palace and walked round the rest of the palace which has to be nothing short of amazing. Cycling on our wonderful rented electric bikes from "freewheelingfrance.com" was a real pleasure enabling us to cycle through the park and visit all the other smaller palaces and gardens before returning to Paris the quicker way with a bit of initial road riding which was very easy on a Sunday and took us along side the Seine on a cycle route taking 75minutes to the centre to deliver the bikes back. highly recommend this cycling company who were so helpful and stay open until 7pm for returns on a Sunday.Guest review bySandraUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Great location to stay in to visit Paris. Training in daily was easy and Versailles is a quaint and fairly quiet place to stay outside the city that has enough amenities to be enjoyable. Walking everywhere was easy -but buses are available as well.Guest review byTim MartinUnited States - 10.0

Wonderful place to visit: full of history, grandeur and variety. The palace and gardens were amazing. Other sites too were accessible, historic and well worth a visit (eg the cathedral, the tennis court of the 'Tennis Court Oath' etc). The city is great full of interesting shops/ historic buildings and great restaurants. We came to see the Palace and it was a dream of a trip loved every minute. Just be careful if you go into the Notre Dame church don’t be accidentally respectfully looking at the organ console from a good distance when unbeknownst to you the organists turns up to practice and shouts blue murder at you just for existing! ‘I am not an animal in a Zoo to be stared at!’ We weren’t even looking at him we had been looking at the organ! Also the staff at the Lambinet museum followed us around like we were burglars or something a little insulting. The rest of the place was lovely though.Guest review byLisaUnited Kingdom
