Highly recommended. Friendly welcome, exceptional quality throughout, perfect location for our requirements and the breakfast was spot on. The small stairs presented a challenge for my size 13 feet but that's part of the charm of the place.

Dolgellau is a small but compact town with shops and pubs etc easily accessible. Main car park by the river is on the edge of town but a minutes walk away from the centre. There could be more choice of restaurants and cafes but we found a hotel (The Ship) that served good food.

Beautiful, incredibly preserved small market town.

Beautiful, incredibly preserved small market town. The weather didn't allow us to explore close surroundingds as we wished. The town itself has got plenty of pubs, cafes, gift shops, art shops. The people we met so friendly. The cherry on the cake is a second hand book shop. The books there just incredible!

The parking was not good steep narrow road I think once inside the property there was 44 steps or stairs some very steep and narrow, wouldn’t recommend to guests with any type of mobility issues. Lounge furniture needs replacing very old and uncomfortable lounge smelt musty. One of the bedrooms very damp with mushroom type mould Growing on wall and carpet. Bathrooms very nice modern plenty of them. Everything you needed supplied in the kitchen. Beds very comfortable lovely bedding. Garden unkempt and garden furniture rusty.

A well maintained property, with delightful hosts.

A well maintained property, with delightful hosts. Breakfasts very good. Lovely gardens and views of the countryside/hills. Room facilities good, comfy & cosy. I plan to stay here again when next visiting the area. I have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Good base for lots of things. great walking area. I used it as a base for a golfing break as it's in the centre of a triangle of some great links golf courses incl St David's [Harlech], Aberdovey, and Porthmadog, And the spectacular Welshpool GC with amazing views over 5 counties! The wonderful village of Portmeirion [famous for it's use in the 60's TV series 'The Prisoner'] is not too far away either

Great walking - either flat to Barmouth, or up the mountain.

Great walking - either flat to Barmouth, or up the mountain. A great selection of pubs, all serving good beer, and a decent curry house (the Lemon Grass - but cash only and BYOB). Has everything you need for a few days away.

We were upgraded to an empty property, a very kind gesture and greatly appreciated. The Stable Cottage is a beautiful homely building, we had everything we needed and more. Owners were always offering local information, suggesting places to see etc. Very helpful and friendly but not overbearing at all. Location is fantastic, everything is so scenic, lots of walks nearby and easy access by road to anywhere in mid or north Wales. Very grateful to Rich and family for having us, we are already talking about coming again!

The Felin Ship was an ideal place, in a quite location on the outskirts or Dolgellau, for myself and five friends to meet up, and to share an outdoor activity holiday. There is simply so much to do in the area. Hill walking, watersports, cycling etc. The property was very spacious, with plenty of room to park all six of our cars. We absolutely loved the beautiful gardens leading down to the river, and the hot tub. Had the weather been poor, I'm sure we would have made more use of the games room.

The house is beautiful and full of character. The luxury room is very large, warm and cosy, with an amazing view of the mountains. Furniture, decoration and paintings are beautiful and well matched. This is more a luxury boutique hotel than a B&B. Our hosts were really nice and showed us around. Serafina speaks a very good Italian. Her breakfast was delicious. Luxury hot tub in the garden is a pleasant treat that helped with the back pain caused by long hours of motorbike riding in amazing Wales!

Found this place last minute on Booking.com after I felt the need for a break and to be close the sea. A great find indeed ! My two children and I stayed in the "Stables" and it has everything you could possibly need for a holiday, full cooking facilities, fridge, freezer, large dining table, 3 bedrooms, including one with en suite. Lounge area. And absolutely wonderful views ! Only a 15 minute drive to the beach We felt, safe, happy and cosy ! Can't wait to return!

This hotel is beautiful and was a great treat for us to stay in. The staff were welcoming and catered for all our requirements, the room was spacious and well laid out and we had a fantastic seating area in the window where we could look out and the balcony would have been used if it was a little warmer. The grounds and views are stunning and I can only imagine them looking better when everything is in full bloom a must stay if you can and it's in budget

Had the hotel to ourselves as no other hotel guests booked in. Location fab, lovely pub/restaurant/hotel. Clean and tidy and very welcoming, friendly staff. Breakfast was amazing. Didn't eat in the evening as the one veggie option wasn't to our 5aste but they did offer to be flexible and offered us two other dishes but we decided to explore Dolgellau for a change. Have been to the curry night before...excellent definitely stay again.

Julie and Jan were brilliant and always had time for a chat, and Jan gave us some useful information about the surrounding area and the best places to visit and eat. The property was full of old world character and charm! We were in the en suite attic room which was small but catered well for our needs. We will definitely book again when we are next in North Wales!

Lovely B&B Annexe on a hillside with great views over Dolgellau and Cadair Idris mountain. The roomy annexe had a large double bed, bunk beds,a seating area with lovely views, a Kitchenette with small fridge but no cooker, and a small ensuite shower room. Our hosts Norma and Robert were very friendly. The English breakfasts were superb.

The hotel manager, Kasia, was an absolute delight. Her grace and charm added immensely to our visit. The location was near hiking trails and a delightful pub across the 30 pence walking bridge. The view from the grounds was outstanding across the estuary.

The hotel is lovely, clearly the best in Dolgellau, the staff are very friendly and the room was very nice, especially as we are travelling with a dog we normally get the worst room in the hotel, was pleasantly surprised this hotel doesn’t do that.
