Directions were given clearly prior to arrival. On arrival the key box was easy to find and worked with the code straight away. The accommodation was warm and bright and well furnished. The kitchen facilities were immaculate and with instructions for the apparatus to clarify how to use.

We’d been looking for a family room near the Kielder Observatory and most pubs needed us to take two rooms or other accommodation needed us to stay two nights. The Boe Rigg had a family room and very reasonably priced. The photos didn’t do the accommodation justice. When we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised to find a lovely large airy room with both kitchen facilities and an tv/seating area. There’s a lovely cozy bar area in the public section, restaurant and outdoor tables overlooking beautiful fields which is home to the campsite. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. There is some renovation work going on it the campsite facilities but it wasn’t a problem.

The Balcary is a beautiful house in Hawick, Scotland, with such a wonderful history. It dates back to the 1880s. It was also a home for children during WWII. It has such beautiful details throughout. The room we stayed in was huge and had a beautiful large bathroom. The staff were wonderful. They made sure if I needed anything while I was sick to let them know. I would suggest a stay, but beware of hearing things that may not be there, such as the Ghosts/Spirits that also reside here. I would love to stay here again the next time I make a trip to Hawick.
In a countryside setting between Gretna Green and Hadrian’s Wall, this multi-award-winning country guest house offers home cooking, pretty bedrooms with attached bathroom and a friendly welcome.

Wow - great place to visit .. Kielder has lots to offer everyone... Kielder Castle is very interesting and great place for families... fantastic walks around Kielder reservoir with fab views and art installations... the highlight for us was Kielder Observatory ...two evenings of fantastic presentation and a look around the observatory... a glimpse of the stars 🌟 made it extra special... plus we saw a shooting star on the way to our cottage ... 10 out of 10 for Kielder ... 😀
