I had booked an Economy Single room for my 2 night stay and found on arrival, that I had been upgraded to a Double Room with all facilities at no extra cost in the Lodge Area of accommodation. I was very pleased with the room and no complaints at all.

If visiting a local race yard obviously Newmarket is a base.
If visiting a local race yard obviously Newmarket is a base. The race horse museum is very good - allow 4hrs to do thoroughly.
Get up early and watch racehorses on the gallops.
Otherwise Newmarket is very run down these days. High street has many boarded up premesis and low grade eateries.
Nice curry house and Italian.
If we came again we’d stay in Cambridge and get a 20 min train.

The only thing I did not like was the description of the...
The only thing I did not like was the description of the location provided by the owner of the Golden Boar was deceiving and not honest. I was led to believe by the description given to the location that it was in walking distance of Newmarket and as I have a very good knowledge of Newmarket for nearly 40 years I was horrified that I was in a small village with absolutely no public transport, no shop, WiFi on my own phone would not work due to the building and impossible to log onto the property WiFi my partner was in Dubai and this made life very difficult for us.
The property was actually 8 miles from Newmarket as told to me by all the taxi drivers I had. I was fortunate the taxi company had one or two drivers which would take my dog otherwise I would have been in extreme difficulty. The property is actually closer to Mildenhall and Bury St Edmunds than Newmarket as described. The taxis there and back even with me walking many miles still cost virtually £100 over the day and half I was staying.
The house itself was like a home away from home, cosy, clean, and decoration was and theme of house was amazing. Bedroom was really comfortable and bed was amazing I slept incredibly well. Bathroom was shared but was spacious and extremely clean and cosy. Very quiet location especially as its literally behind newmarket Town centre, great location. Bianca the host was amazing and we were even able to check in a lot earlier due to going to the races which was really simple from that location. We will definitely stay there again, amazing place.
Room (119) was super comfortable - especially in storm force winds! Warm, cosy, lovely bath to relax in. Super comfy king size bed. Dinner in Squires was a delight - great menu, food and staff. Lovely lounge areas with open fires to add to the coziness. All staff very friendly and professional. Great location in Newmarket, loads of parking space and close to everything. Sadly, ran out of time so unable to use the spa/leisure facilities which was one of the reasons I booked this hotel. Very good value for a Sunday night stay in January.
Easy walk into Newmarket, or 2 minute drive. 5 min drive to Exning equine hospital. 5 minute drive to the station. 6 minute drive to Bedford Lodge hotel and spa. Easy walk to supermarket and fish and chip shop. Clean, large 1 bed apartment. Not big enough for 4, even though there is a sofa bed in the living room and large king in the bedroom. Good broadband. Nice desk area. Dining table not really usable, so ate on knees. Host very available if needed. Housekeeping ladies very efficient and polite. Warm and cosy.
Friendly helpful staff at reception. The hotel was close to Newmarket Main Street with access to bars and restaurants only a short walk away. The bedroom itself was fairly large with large en-suite facilities accessible via a connecting door. The bedroom contained a wall mounted tv, telephone and Kingsize bed , there is small safe situated in the wardrobe to safely secure valuables if required.
We loved everything about the apartment it is spotlessly clean and luxuriously furnished, it has its own garden with a hot tub there is also a communal garden with two further hot tubs. Joanne was so warm and welcoming. It is about a 15 minute walk into Newmarket town centre, and about five minutes to see the gallops. Only a short taxi ride to Newmarket racecourse. We can’t wait to go back.
The property was excellent, very clean, a lovely little place in a beautiful village. The owner Yvonne was wonderful very helpful friendly and very welcoming, phoned me up to help with directions and times of eta , she even gave us a lift to the racecourse and offered to take us out into Newmarket, food was delicious, would most certainly stay again 100% first class.
Breakfast cooked to order and plenty of it. Super convenient location with very helpful management. Great parking. Clean and comfortable bed. Note that although there's a bar the restaurant (for dinner) is permanently closed, but it's a short walk to the High Street with many food options so this wasn't an issue. Great to see the racehorses passing in the morning.
I was travelling in Auckland New Zealand and mistakenly booked a hotel in Auckland UK.... When I realized, I emailed the hotel ahead of time and they told me they would refund the money but I have not received it and I wonder if it went back to Booking.com?
The huge statement bath and bath bubbles were such a treat.
The great sized comfortable bed meant we enjoyed a good night's sleep.
Lovely views from the windows. Peaceful location.
The inn downstairs served up the most amazing food for our evening meal.
smart modern room (not en suite) in small house near middle of Newmarket. v friendly and helpful people running the room arrangements. it was a last minute booking so it wasn't going to be cheap during a v busy time for Newmarket.
Great customer service and the single room was actually a bit bigger than I expected. Location is great too since you can just walk out and explore the town during the day. I also enjoyed the dinner service as well.
Excellent location for Newmarket town centre. Very clean and loved the complementary bar, nice touch.
Breakfast was amazing lots of choice and cooked breakfast was very tasty.
Would stay again
Lovely comfortable bed in a spotlessly clean room. Quiet location, within walking distance of Newmarket Town centre. Excellent value for money and exactly what we needed.
a decent though little remote location outside of Newmarket, abt 10 minute drive. Rooms were small, compact but newly refurbished exceptionally clean and comfortable
