Stayed here lots of times when it was travelodge and ibis so was shocked how much it had declined . Paid £125 for a night in a room unfit for habitation . On arrival the stair well and lift were filthy tatty and carpets are full of wee and stink. The light switches were dodgy in the room and there was an awful smell so asked to move rooms was given one on the floor above which was no better . The only good thing about this room was the view if you could have seen it through the filthy mouldy windows😤

Breakfast was fabulous, wide selection of cereal, fruit, full English, omelettes, even cheese on toast if you wanted it. Small but adequate indoor heated pool smith fun floats and balls for the children to play with. Water was always being tested. Jacuzzi really hot with powerful jets. I didn’t use the outside pool but speaking to other guests they loved it as it was heated and had a conservatory too so parents can watch their children from their or sit on the sun loungers around the pool if they preferred not to go in. Entertainment was amazing, exceeded expectations. Singers and acts were so professional. I’ve been on many cruises and these shows are equivalent or above- staff could not do enough to please all guests

This was a lovely stay! The staff were so so friendly and helpful. They helped us to get parked, checked how we were getting on, took our breakfast order and made it as soon as we came down. The room was perfect for what we needed. It was clean, tidy and has a comfortable bed! The little body wash and shampoo provided smelled amazing too! Breakfast was lovely and just such a nice stay. If we’re back we would definitely book here!

FAQs about hotels in Blackpool

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

A favoured holiday spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.

On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!

More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognisable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modelled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

A popular stag and hen do destination, Blackpool offers accommodation ranging from North Shore hotels to South Shore B&Bs - see Booking.com for the best choice.

Blackpool is rather a marmite destination but I love it so I have visited many times. There's lots to see and do although the weather wasn't the best for sitting on the beach it's hard to be bored in Blackpool but best to come with deep pockets. I've already seen most of the many attractions and had other stuff to do on this trip so didn't see much but I did visit the Grundy Art Gallery for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by it. It seemed a bit quiet along the front at times but I presume that this will change when the illuminations are switched on.

Other than the pleasure beach for older kids there is not much there. Sandcastle Kingdom is over priced on the bases that non swimmers have to pay the same price as swimmers. Sentimental value for my wife and I is the reason we keep going back. The whole are needs redevelopment. Most of the frontbis very run down and as you go back from the beach it gets worse. Still a great beach for young kids and some good pubs and entertainment for older people. Love going to the Beach House for a meal especially on a good day.

We go to Funny Girls every year. We also enjoy the lively weekend nightlife. The sun shone the whole time we were there. The beach at Blackpool is definitely its crowning glory. This is a good value 'kiss me quick' destination which is not trying to be anything other than a warm, welcoming place with a lot of heart.

To this day, I can't believe Hayward Hotel - a place like this (you can't even call it a hotel) is listed on Booking. It's an absolute scam! The 'service' was a brief moment just to hand over the keys, and then the main door to the building was left wide open all night. In the early hours, some blokes were running down the corridor, yelling that they'd set off the alarm and rob everyone. The room was appalling. The stench of mould and stale cigarettes hit you in the face, and the bathroom was filthy and reeked of mould. There was a single towel that we wouldn't dare touch; it was brown and just sat crumpled like rubbish on the toilet. The bed linen looked like it had been used for two weeks. Overall, the interior was only fit for a crack den. We were genuinely terrified we'd go home infested and with mould poisoning after just one night. The smell was unbearable. A truly dreadful experience. Never again.

Just returned home from a 3 night stay as a family of 5, the room is very spacious and excellent view over the sea/pier. Breakfast was really good value for money and no pressure to order it. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely 1 of the best hotels we have stayed in at blackpool and will be saving it for when we return as it is the perfect location for pleasure beach and sandcastle which is the main reason we visit. Thanks again for a great weekend

Fabulous stay. Smart looking hotel & room. The room was a small double at the back. Hotel room had lovely lighting, comfy bed, tea & coffee. Also a smart TV & WiFi., Smart bathroom with lovely shower. Also fan, iron & hair dryer provided. Room was clean & nicely presented. Right in the middle of Blackpool seafront. Also able to park up cycle in front near entrance. Bar looked lovely. Mixed hotel reviews. However, I'd have no hesitation booking again.
