This is a really nice place to stay in a beautiful small town on the coast. Family run and busy with a comfortable bar and restaurant where you can get decent food most of the day.
Our room was good with very comfortable beds and an en suite shower room.
Breakfast in the morning was substantial - we had the full Scottish to fuel us through a day of cycling but there are lighter options.
The staff who we met were friendly and helpful. The place is well run . We would thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay

Love this hotel! The staff was wonderful and everyone was very gracious during our stay. My brother and his wife loved their room and the furnishings - a step back in time. It was like a honeymoon for them. The food in the dining room was delicious especially the duck breast! My sister and I enjoyed our rooms, very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again . thank you to all the staff. We certainly enjoyed our conversations with all of you.

Dornoch Castle was cosy and comfortable.
Dornoch Castle was cosy and comfortable. Nice bar and fireplace to enjoy one of their award winning scotches. Rooms were comfortable and warm and beds good. Note you need to climb a number of stairs to access your room but staff will help if needed. Laundry service a little $$. Breakfast was really good and service was good. Dornoch is such a wonderful town.
Dornoch is such a wonderful town. I was amazed by the architecture from various periods but the Georgian and Edwardian stood out and looked stunning in red sandstone! The castle hotel bar is a must see, also the cathedral where Madonna got married to Guy Ritchie and also Elon Musk got married there too! The beech walks and also the Golf course, rated as the number 1 golf course in Scotland (I spoke to golfers at this festival who gave me their honest opinions) with a links style supposedly better than St Andrews! Although I was there for the local whisky festival, the people were so pleasant and made you feel so welcome and the hotel/ pubs were outstanding with the accompanying food menu's were superb.DavidUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

Pretty town with a lovely long sandy beach. The Museum and Heritage Trail are very interesting and well worth the time. The cathedral is worth a visit and there are some interesting shops to explore. And we noticed an electric car charging point! We only stayed one night but it would have been better to have stayed for two as we didn't have enough time to visit all the attractions.

A lovely well equiped cottage set in an idillic location with superb views towards the Dornoch Firth. A few miles from Dornoch so own transport essential as over 2 miles from a bus route. If you are looking for an away from it all retreat, look no further.

Breakfast was freshly made and excellent. There are only two rooms so its very peaceful and the host was so friendly. Parking is nearby in the church car park and free. We were there for a golf break and Royal Dornoch is a 15 min walk away , with Golspie , Tain and Brora all within a short drive. All should be played if you're a golf fan.

The room was clean and well laid out, beds were comfortable and the food was very tasty. Staff were amazing and the owner even took us to one of the local distilleries due to a limited taxi service in the area; this was again a present for my husbands birthday. we would definitely recommend this gem of a hotel
