The Eucalyptus Hotel is located approximately two and a half miles from the airport and two and a half miles from Fira, the capital of Santorini. To use the public transportation, for most bus routes you have to first travel to Fira and take a bus from the Central Bus Station (except for a couple of routes that take in the southern part of the island and the airport bus). The bus stops in Mesaria are very close to the hotel. There are several restaurants close to the hotel and a supermarket which stays open until midnight is right across the street. The rooms in the hotel are spacious and the beds are comfortable and everything is very clean. I did not participate in breakfast, so I can't comment on that. The manager was very helpful with information on tours and booking what I wanted to do. Santorini is daily inundated with cruise ship visitors who totally overpower the island, especially during the high season--middle May until around the end of September. Mesaria is far enough from Fira and is not the home of any of the "must sees" on Santorini that the day crowds do not typically come to this village. I highly recommend this property and if/when I return to Santorini, I will definitely stay here again.
Villa Danezis features air-conditioned rooms along with free Wi-Fi and parking. Each room has a private balcony, some offering sunset views. It is 1.9 mi away from Fira.

The staff were so so helpful, we had a really early check out the next morning before breakfast began so they made us up a takeaway breakfast which was so thoughtful.
Hotel is in a good location for the airport and in the centre of a little town with a few restaurants and bars.
Good value for money.

The rooms are gorgeous. But they can keep coffee sachets in the room. Family run hotel. The owner gave us a lot of information when we reached. Really helpful. We had to checkout early after two days for our flight so they gave us packed breakfast for next day which was very sweet. Only thing bread should have been buttered a bit.

The host came to meet us and greeted us. She gave a lot of information about the local attractions and restaurants given we were there during off-season. That list was very helpful to navigate the island.
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Mesaria this weekend is $102 or, for a 4-star hotel, $178. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Mesaria for this weekend cost around $417 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).

Mesaria is a very small 'crossroads' town with the main road being very busy with traffic especially large trucks.
There are some lovely local restaurants which serve good food at reasonable prices and two supermarkets. A good bakery sells miniature ice-creams that are very welcome in the heat and there is a small souvenir shop.

We loved the Galini restaurant and left their business card in the apartment. It is only 5 minutes by car and we went there 4 times, each time great food, huge portions, fast service, soft Greek music and next to a pretty pebble beach. Mostly Greek customers it seems though English menu available. All the seafood dishes are heavenly ! Mixed grill of seafood for two is amazing value. See 2 pictures of Galini.

The town was in a fairly rural area and seemed to be inhabited by locals more than tourists which was exactly what we wanted for our trip. All the shops you could need are within a short walk (although be prepared to walk up and down some steep inclines).
I strongly recommend finding Vothonaki Café/Meze/Bar, very friendly staff with very good English (And very happy to hear you attempting Greek) and can help recommend tours and activities and such. Some of the best food we had all week.

For a first visit to Santorini i feel I should have chosen Fira to be close to everything. The bus to our accomodation drops us about 10 min walk from the house and it is quite a walk.... If you rent a quad that won t be an issue though.

The room is really spacious and has the luxurious feel to it. The bathroom has a lot of space as well to put your towels, clothes and every piece of bathing equipments you usually need to bring. The staff is really helpful and will do extra to make their guests happy. The close proximity to the airport and the free shuttle service will make this a perfect accommodation if you're looking for a place to stay near the airport.

I'm very satisfied with this room.
I'm very satisfied with this room. Everything is very nice and clean. The landlord was very friendly and helped us a lot! Very recommended here! I really like it! I hope we'll come back next time.
It was an excellent experience. The owner and staff are very helpful, they helped me make a car reservation, the airport is only 5 minutes by car, the establishment is located in a nice area called Messaria, you have a big courtyard to park your car, a close supermarket with all you need, the flat is extremely comfy, we felt like home there and I truly recommend it. We will definitely return to Santorini, a week was not enough to see the whole beauty of the island.A big thank you to the owner for all the help provided, you have a 10 from us.
Good location, near great restaurants, supermarket and bus stop which had buses to different directions including - Bus to airport (10 min away)
- Bus to Fira - one of the beautiful places where you can see the the sunset (15 min away)
- Bus to Kamari beach (10 min away)
- Bus to Perissa beach (15 min away)
The hotel was 3 min away from the bus stop.
Great staff who helped us with everything we asked for and were available 24/7 for our questions :).
We are super happy about our stay and would go back there if we are in Santorini.
The hotel location is good, easy access for new arrivals with suitcases. easy access to a local bus for airport, ferry port and Fira the central town of Santorini. But the best of this hotel is its staff, they are excellent with information on attractions and available bus to help you to get where you want to go. They are friendly making you feel at home, also their English is excellent so no problem to communicate with. Also the on-site pool is convenient for sun baking and relaxing.
Dina, Manolis and their daughter take care of their guests as part of their family. Beyond the perfect position (Mesaria has been preserved from the mass tourism assault), the journey transforms into a special experience thanks to these beautiful people. Dina has made so many calls to solve our problems and helping us designing the perfect visit of Santorini.
About the place, you will enjoy the outdoor garden for breakfast, and the terrace in the windy evenings.
Ευχαριστώ πολύ!
Firsty, hotel was very clean, breakfast were met our expectations. Personnel always helpful and cheerful. Also, Dimitris who has responsible of the hotel was very kind and helpful person. He guided us about the santorini’s beatiful places. I definetly recommend this hotel to the couples who likes tranquility and slience. I also recommend any couple who will go Santorini rent a car. Because it makes life easier at santorini.
The rooms at this hotel are over the top. Luxurious, spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Everything is immaculately clean and the rooms and the common areas of the hotel.
It is close to the airport and is an ideal place for those who plan on renting a vehicle to see the rest of Santorini.
The hotel provides complimentary transportation to and from the airport.
The staff are warm, friendly, and concerned about their guests.
The rooftop terrace is brilliant! Specially to enjoy the sunrise.
The hosts are very polite and welcoming.
The architecture/style of Emmantina houses has the personal imprint from the owners, who take care of every detail to remind us that we are in Santorini.
Breakfast is different every day and they will adapt it to your taste/necessities.
My partner and I loved our stay here, the view has to be seen to be believed. The sunset from our room was one of the most beautiful we have ever seen and was the highlight of our time in Santorini. The staff are incredible, their friendliness and attitude from the get go was appreciated and just added to the experience.
Very beautiful boutique hotel for those who want to be in a calmer area of Santorini. Very good breakfast, very kind staff (they do your best to help you and give you local hints). Rooms are clean, and modern. Nice swimming pool. Book a car or a scooter as the hotel is 15-20 minutes away from Fira.
Exceptional hotel! You will not regret booking a stay with Altera Pars. Beautiful clean room with 10/10 breakfast. Service was amazing, George at reception was extremely professional and helpful. We were provided with help to book activities, transportation and restaurants. Super impressed.
Everything was super clean and tidy from the daily room service. Also, the staff helped us in every way, including booking tours, airport transfer, renting a car... Everyone was very nice! Make sure to rent a car as the villa is not close to the bus station, which we checked in advance.
Everything was fantastic about the property. The rooms were super spacious and clean. Peros and Dimitris provided excellent freshly cooked breakfast and coffee everyday and looked after all of our needs. They were also a wealth of information on getting to different parts of Santorini.
