This location is amazing. I really enjoyed staring at the view, and I really loved the onsite coffee shop. Also the bakery cart right at the hotel was lovely. Was easy to book a shuttle to Guatamala city straight from the office. Boat lauch to head to other locations around the lake are walking distance from the hotel.

Without a doubt, this place is an oasis amidst the chaos of Panajachel. While there may be other options near the lake, the hot springs at Regis are truly worth staying for. The staff members were incredibly kind, always providing accurate information and offering support when needed. The hotel boasts a spacious backyard where the hot spring pools are nestled among ancient trees, frequented by birds and squirrels.

Main Street Santander is not ideal, you listen to reggaeton music in many places which is terrible and so disgusting. There are many little restaurants where you can eat for a fair price. The lake view is great but the surroundings are not very nice, the place is not tourist ready, you might go to other little towns like San Pedro, Santa Cruz or San Juan

Like with many places (or even more than most places) depending on your choices Panajachel can be fabulous, beautiful, exhausting, authentic, spiritual, commercial and ……Read about it as much as you can before you go. Endless options here for all kinds of traveler. I found it to be very interesting and would love to be able to come back some day.

Panajachel is paradise. The weather is beautiful.
Panajachel is paradise. The weather is beautiful. Lots of sun, but not too hot most of the time. Lots of great restaurants. There are a lot of markets stalls around with local goods, like hand woven textiles. The lake itself is amazing. Panajachel has access to something for everyone. San Juan for artists, San Pedro for a nice night life, San Antonio for pottery, San Marcos for yoga retreats, etc. All of the towns are just a lancha (ferry) ride away. Be careful during the rainy season, because in the afternoons you can get soaked

This is a very clean and safe place to stay.
This is a very clean and safe place to stay. I felt very safe being out during the day and at night also. It is easy to get a tuk tuk to take you where you want to go. There are plenty of places to eat with a variety of menu choices. Most menus have vegetarian options. I have never had a problem with finding great food and the prices are very reasonable.
If you want to explore the other villages on the lake, it is easy to take a public boat and go anywhere.

This town is so much fun.
This town is so much fun. Definitely has a tourist trap vibe but the activities here are so much fun. We did an ATV tour to see the sunset. We had a blast! The views were breathtaking. There was some road work that cut our planned tour short but the guild we had was amazing and did what he could to make it a full and worth while experience. Simoon tours was who we went with. Yesua was our guild, though I could be butchering his name, sorry if I am. He was amazing! I would absolutely do other tours they offer, especially if he was the guild again. So much fun!
The rooms are immaculate, just like the whole place. The owner, Kazuomi, has owned Hotel El Sol since 2008. He lives on the property with his beautiful family. The vibe Is Japanese/Guatemalan, the best of both worlds. There’s even a koy fish and the neighborhood is safe and quiet, tucked up against the mountain. Breakfast in their restaurant is always delicious and the staff is top notch. Hotel El Sol is the only place I stay when in Pana. Booked four days, stayed a week. :-)
The property is beautiful, has an amazing garden, lots of trees, and is very well kept. Our room was, clean, comfortable and the big windows allowed for a fantastic view of lake Atitlan. Rosa was super kind and prepared a healthy breakfast for us every day. Jimena was extremely helpful, accommodating and kind. I only have praises for this hotel
Everything was superlative, and the gardens were unexpected. The plantings, the paths, the vistas--absolutely fabulous. I have friends who have a superb (professional) garden on Long Island, and I plan to urge them to take a holiday at the Hotel Atitlan.
We stayed here for three nights whilst we explored Lake Atitlan. Our room was cosy and it had some lovely classic furniture.
The staff were very helpful and were able to set up all our transport too and from Panajachel as well as some local tours.
This was a great place to stay in Panajachel, very close to the ferry and easy to walk to restaurants. Francisco at the front desk is the best part of this hotel! He was so kind and willing to help with anything we needed.
Great location, great room with a roof terrace. I stayed here one night as my previous hotel had no vacancy. I wish I would’ve stayed here. So clean. Comfortable bed. Good WiFi. Good shower, very modern spacious rooms.
very convenient location to access the town of panajachel and the ferry dock (lancha) to explore lake atitlan. they also helped us coordinate easy and quick transfers from Antigua and back to Ciudad de Guatemala
Very nice hotel at the Atitlan Lake, with a very friendly and helpful staff. We we're lucky to be there completely alone for 2 days. Nice private beach and good ways to the other parts of Atitlan lake
This is by far the cleanest hotel in Latin America. It’s not even close. The owner was friendly and the property had everything needed for a comfortable stay.
The price was ok. The free breakfast from Faro was pretty good. The water and beer the sell in the lobby is about as cheap as you can find in Guatemala.
