Without a doubt, this place is an oasis amidst the chaos of Panajachel. While there may be other options near the lake, the hot springs at Regis are truly worth staying for. The staff members were incredibly kind, always providing accurate information and offering support when needed. The hotel boasts a spacious backyard where the hot spring pools are nestled among ancient trees, frequented by birds and squirrels.

Main Street Santander is not ideal, you listen to reggaeton music in many places which is terrible and so disgusting. There are many little restaurants where you can eat for a fair price. The lake view is great but the surroundings are not very nice, the place is not tourist ready, you might go to other little towns like San Pedro, Santa Cruz or San Juan

Like with many places (or even more than most places)...
Like with many places (or even more than most places) depending on your choices Panajachel can be fabulous, beautiful, exhausting, authentic, spiritual, commercial and ……Read about it as much as you can before you go. Endless options here for all kinds of traveler. I found it to be very interesting and would love to be able to come back some day.

Panajachel is paradise. The weather is beautiful.
Panajachel is paradise. The weather is beautiful. Lots of sun, but not too hot most of the time. Lots of great restaurants. There are a lot of markets stalls around with local goods, like hand woven textiles. The lake itself is amazing. Panajachel has access to something for everyone. San Juan for artists, San Pedro for a nice night life, San Antonio for pottery, San Marcos for yoga retreats, etc. All of the towns are just a lancha (ferry) ride away. Be careful during the rainy season, because in the afternoons you can get soaked

This is a very clean and safe place to stay.
This is a very clean and safe place to stay. I felt very safe being out during the day and at night also. It is easy to get a tuk tuk to take you where you want to go. There are plenty of places to eat with a variety of menu choices. Most menus have vegetarian options. I have never had a problem with finding great food and the prices are very reasonable.
If you want to explore the other villages on the lake, it is easy to take a public boat and go anywhere.

This town is so much fun.
This town is so much fun. Definitely has a tourist trap vibe but the activities here are so much fun. We did an ATV tour to see the sunset. We had a blast! The views were breathtaking. There was some road work that cut our planned tour short but the guild we had was amazing and did what he could to make it a full and worth while experience. Simoon tours was who we went with. Yesua was our guild, though I could be butchering his name, sorry if I am. He was amazing! I would absolutely do other tours they offer, especially if he was the guild again. So much fun!
A lovely place with superfriendly staff. The breakfast is superb. The rooms are spacious and nice and good working shower. Everything is perfect except for the nightclub nearby that even when there is almlost no people in it, is soo loud that we didnt sleep that well. And not only in the weekend but every day until 5 am
,It really sucks for the hotel because its such a nice and peaceful place. We don't really get some of the guatemalans and their blasting music...
The hotel is quite simple but very clean and has an excellent location (5-7 minutes and you are in the heart of the city!).
The atmosphere of the place is contagious! The owner and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They will help you with anything you may need, from things related to the hotel, general info about the city to organizing tours to other cities. They also provide a great breakfast and excellent WI-fi (something not so easy to find in Guatemala)
This hotel has the perfect location for exploring Panajachel and taking lanchas to other pueblos around the lake! The staff, especially Francisco, were INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful. They even kept my bags for me for a few days while I stayed in other towns. He also helped arrange my shuttle to the airport and back and communicated very effectively when my flight was severely delayed. Don't hesitate to book!
So enjoy the energy, location and the professional staff. Leslie is always there and ensures needs are met. the hotel is clean and captures the essence of Guatemala as it was 35 years ago. Yet, the hotel has been remodeled to reflect today’s current styles. the ceiling fans were a nice bonus as well as the complimentary bottled water, coffee, and teas. The community kitchen is always kept clean.
Beautiful property near the shores of Lake Atitlan. The village is quiet, but has a local market and a pier. Please note that this village is not on the normal route for the public ferries around the lake, but you can arrange a private boat to take you to the other villages. The pool is wonderful, and the restaurant was terrific. As a solo traveler, they took very good care of me.
The staff were incredible! our bud got
delayed from Mexico at the Guatemalan boarder so we didn’t arrive until 3.30am- with no wifi we had no way of contacting them so just showed up! They were exceedingly kind and showed us to our rooms.
The rooms were super comfortable with hot showers. Everything was clean and tidy.
super close to ferry port and stunning views from the rooftop.
Hotel Posada de Don Rodrigo is in a prime spot in Panajachel. It is next to the lake and many of the main attractions of Panajachel. It is also right next to Panajachel's main ferry/boat port. If you have kids, they have an excellent play area, including trampolines and playsets. The pool also includes a water slide (tobagán).
Immaculate hotel. Cleanest we've had in Guatemala. The owner is Japanese and brings that aesthetic here.
Extremely attentive and helpful. The hotel is run professionally and I appreciated the complimentary water and coffee. Also, we took advantage of the laundry service
I wish I could take this hotel with me on this trip
.
The room was basic but clean. I appreciated that they had distilled water in a few locations around the hotel. The grounds and gardens/courtyards/terraces were very tranquil and relaxing. It felt safe and the location was very close to the dock and our shuttle pick up point as well as the main street.
Good opportunity to stay with and support a Guatemalan family. Basic room, so adjust expectations accordingly. David is very helpful. Quiet location, but also a bit difficult to find (by taxi/tuktuk drivers) since there are no signs, so make sure you make proper arrangements with David before arrival.
They were able to easily help us schedule a shuttle back to Guatemala City for 2 for 350Q. Loved having access to a clean and functioning kitchen. Allowed us to check out a little later since our shuttle wasn't until noon.
Great location, great room with a roof terrace. I stayed here one night as my previous hotel had no vacancy. I wish I would’ve stayed here. So clean. Comfortable bed. Good WiFi. Good shower, very modern spacious rooms.
Very good location super close to the boats taking you to other cities at Atitlan Lake. Well-equipped kitchen where you can make your food (most of the restaurants in Pana overprice they offer). Very friendly staff.
As pov from a local (Guatemalan) this is mostly a good place talking about location and what you get for the amount you are paying. A great place to get some rest after visited Lake area.
The hotel is very suitable for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere, we loved it there. The location is excellent, only a few minutes walk from the center. The staff was very helpful.
