What a beautiful, magical place it is! Perfect for those who love nature, jungle sounds, peace and quiet. Great walks in the jungle, swims in the river and sunbathing by the dock. They also organize various tours if you can drag yourself away from your hammock:).
My cabana was pretty and comfortable and the bed was the best one i had in guatemala so far. I stayed 3 nights and will defo come.back.

Nice location, good cabins with hot shower. Set menu dinner was delicious and plenty. Prices are reasonable for food & drinks. Can swim around the river, and use free tubes. Helpful staff and good communication. Organized our boat trip to Livingston with no problem.
It should be a tourist hot spot in Guatemala. Unfortunately the beaches are covered in trash. I wouldn’t recommend a visit to Livingston unless you’re passing through. If you happen to have some time in Livingston I recommend a trip to Playa Blanca and Siete Altares. The lancha to Playa Blanca only gives you an hour in Siete Altares so we went back the next day. Just take a tuktuk to the bridge and walk. It’s a great place to swim in cool fresh water in the jungle.

Unfortunately, I was there during the rainy season - day and night - rain. I would have stayed longer, but everything I had was damp or wet. Hostel is easily walkable from the lancha dock. Or you can take a tuc tuc for 10Q

It's a very interesting little town and it's really worth making sure that you go to the beach and part of town where the Garífuna community live. They seem rather excluded from the main benefits of tourism in the town which seems mainly owned by foreigners with Maya staff. I don't think the Garífuna benefit financially as much as they should from tourism. Try the restaurants over that side of town by the beach - Guamo Place was excellent for example.

Safe little town. Everyone seems very friendly.
Safe little town. Everyone seems very friendly. Sad that there is not more info and guidance into the original Garifundi culture unless you dig or start talking to some people. Not sure if it can be reached by land, but easiest is taking the boat from Porto Barrios.
Eat at Margoth's - LA Mama (soups are great) and Mc Tropic (I loved the Tajadas).
As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Sonny and his lovely dog Buddha, which is super obedient! We cooked in his kitchen and we were even invited to his BBQ with his friends!
The place is just right off the sea. It is about 20mins walking distance from the centre but you can easily take a tuk tuk if you prefer for about 5Q per person.
We booked for 3 nights but wished we could have stayed longer!
If you plan to visit Livingston, I'd definitely recommend you to stay here! You'll enter as a guest but leave as a friend!
The hotel overall was amazing, pool and the garden are beautiful. The rooms are a bit tired, but clean. The staff is supernice! The recepcionist Noemy (?) was very helpful. We asked if they have bedside lamps for reading, they didn’t have them, but next day they had brought the lamps. Noemy organized the anniversary party for my parents, including the place and decorations! She also organised us a trip to Río Dulce. She is amazing!
A very authentic place well taken care of by the host. Practical, with all you need for a pleasant stay in front of the sea. We enjoyed the calm, the beauty and the natural sounds of the night. The owner, Patrick, is a particularly caring person with a rare sense of humanity. Always ready to help and share information to make sure we made the most out of Livingston.
Thanks for welcoming us Patrick, we will come back soon!
This property is a very nice time capsule from at least the 1960’s. The initial appearance from the water is not so good, but it is no worse than any of the other places in town. But once you step inside, you will notice that the hotel is very clean and well taken care of. The hosts were all very helpful to our needs and requests. The next time I am in Livingston, I would definitely stay at Posada El Delfín!
Martha and her family have built a lodge and bungalows on the banks on the Rio Dulce in the middle of the most gorgeous and precious part of the river. The property is close to the National Park and the Canyon of the Rio Dulce, 20 minutes from Livingston and only accessible by water craft. The birds are astounding in number, the lily pads full of flowers and the sights always changing on the river.
The hotel restaurant was great - lovely food and friendly staff. Stuart, the owner, could not have been more helpful with local tips and information. He arranged a private boat for us when we needed to travel early before the ferry started. He went to the pharmacy for me as it was Christmas Eve and likely to close early.
Management and all staff were super friendly, accommodating, and professional. We also loved our view on the large balcony. The hotel restaurant is outstanding, excellent food with a beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding mountains. We would definitely recommend to others looking to stay in the area.
This hotel is PERFECT. Ismal the owner has a really good vibe. I felt at home, their is all you need here. The morning view is splendid. I had a bed with a view on the water. I could not have dreamt of something better for my last days in Guatemala. I recommande STRONGLY this hostal. You will not regret it.
The family is amazing. They are all so kind and warmhearted, especially Martha is the good soul of this place. Food tastes outstanding, reasonably priced. You can rent Kayaks and they offer you a boat shuttle service to/from Rio Dulce and Livingston. Felt more like a homestay than a hotel.
The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. In particular Katy and Noemi made sure that we were well taken care of. The hotel is right on the beach, the pool was nice and clean as well. The air conditioning was very much appreciated.
Hotel has good atmosphere, great garden with a lot of birds. Nice pool. Great view over the lake and birds 😊 Restaurant is a bit overpriced, but acceptable, food is okay..
Overall nice hotel, but needs some small fixing here & there.
I really liked this place and wish I had more time in Livingston to spend more than a night here. The place is really cute and the rooms and bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly. A towel is included and the rooms have a fan.
Fantastic view of the sea, great place to sit and watch the white herons and pelicans, short walk into Livingston to explore the area, would recommend the boat trip to Playa Blanca.
It is wonderful. The views are amazing. The rooms are lovely. The pool and the surrounding gardens are paradise. The staff is friendly and efficient. I love, love this hotel. 💕💕💕
Giovanni provided great service.a d e an walked us to a restaurant we wanted to go to. The hotel walls are nicely decorated to reflect t the Caribbean and the Garifuna culture.
We loved Casa Nostra! The deck is amazing, the staff really nice, good food at the restaurant and perfect location to explore Livingston. Stuart was very kind and welcoming!
Nice, cheap hostel in Livingstone, 10mins from the centre. nice facilities, no food other than breakfast. very chilled atmosphere, good place to rest and recharge
