I have no words to describe the entire experience I had at this place. Simply wonderful. The staff service is amazing—very kind, very honest, and they do everything they can to accommodate your needs. They strive to do their best for the guests. From the kitchen staff to the waiters, bartenders, and boat captains, the service is excellent. I give it a 100 rating, and very, recommend it to anyone in the world who wants to escape their daily routine and feel like royalty. Go to CASA CARIBE HOTEL. We are thinking about returning. This is an amazing and unique stay. The only way to get to it is by boat and with that, you already know you're in for something unique. The staff were very helpful and helped us with whatever we needed. We stayed in the shared dormitory and it was just amazing

We are very satisfied about our stay: - hotel boat picks you up from the shuttle stop (we arrived from Lanquin) and they bring you back at check-out - friendly and efficient staff - clean and cute cottage, good showers, comfortable beds - good food and pricing at the restaurant - we did 2 of the activities offered: rainforest path (perfect for a late afternoon sport/nature time) and the sunrise kayaking to see the monkeys. Both recommendable! - relaxing pool area - good cocktails

The breakfast at the Cayena restaurant was excellent. This is Nanajuana hotel restaurant. We ate multiple dinners and breakfast and they were all very well prepared with prompt service. Highly recommend.

This was the best place I stayed in my three weeks in Guatemala! Should've come here first. I appreciated how clean my room and bathroom were! Great A/C and a ceiling fan. The bedroom window had a screen. The young ladies were always helpful and friendly! They call for a tuk-tuk if you need one. As a bonus, they said the 8am boat to Rio Dulce picks up right at the property dock, so no need to go into town.

The people who work at Boatique were all so incredibly helpful, and kind! I legitimately enjoyed the conversations I had with everyone on the staff. The property is so beautiful. The dock style pathways connecting everything were magic to walk on. I could spend hours sitting outside enjoying it all, watching the monkeys in the morning and the stars at night. The pool is a lovely place to spend time and the staff does a great job of staying on top of it to keep it clean. We did an all day boat ride with Daniel to visit Playa Blanca, aguas termales, and Livingston, and I definitely recommend this. He is so friendly, patient, and accommodating. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. Also recommend getting a massage while you're there. It was magic, and a great price! It was easy to get to Finca Paraiso also, and Sylvia and Daniel helped us figure out how to do that. The food in the restaurant is also lovely, and we enjoyed everything we had. We spent 4 nights here, which gave us the perfect amount of time to explore and also relax. I would love to go back and do it again.

Rio Dulce is beautiful, but not much to do there.

Rio Dulce is beautiful, but not much to do there. We took a boat “tour” which only stopped by 4 scenic things and took us to Livingston. I wish we would have taken a boat transfer to either Puerto Blanca or Belize because Livingston is an absolute 💩 hole. Literally there’s an open sewage system that I’m sure is emptying into the ocean. I bought a couple of shells there that just got confiscated at the airport, which would have been fine, but they didn’t give me a receipt so they got yanked.

Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing.

Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing. If you want more night life...then probably best to stay in Livingston. If you are ever in Livingston, the best Tapado was at a small restaurant Restaurante Gabby!! Unforgettable!! El Viajero didn't come close in flavor, maybe we just went on a bad day. Must see Siete Altares, beautiful waterfalls and blue turquoise water. We never felt unsafe, it's a very tranquil place in Rio Dulce.

If you travel solo you can't do anything as it's just for...

If you travel solo you can't do anything as it's just for groups else yours are in excess of £250! It's not safe to hike to seven altars alone (I was told by locals) so it's just very far for no reason. The bus from GC was supposed to be 5 hours but it was 11!

I really wanted to like Rio Dulce.

I really wanted to like Rio Dulce. It turned out to be only a hub for boat and bus travel for me. Having spent two months in Guatemala by the time I got there, I was not surprised by the poverty or conditions. That said, I didn’t find much other than the castle to be places I wanted to see more of. It was very hot and humid in early July.

The whole experience at Hotel Casa Perico was excellent from start to finish. From the boat shuttle they organised from Rio Dulce to the welcoming staff, the location in the Mangrove Swamp, the delicious food, the comfortable lodgings, the access to canoes to explore and swim in the lake. I really can't recommend it highly enough.

This was consistently the best food we had during our whole stay in Guatemala. The common lodge was so homey and inviting. We loved hearing the rain on our tin roof in our building. Bonus: The ferry to Livingston left directly from the Hotel pier. It was wonderful.
