We booked this hotel last minute and late at night. Booking confirmed our hotel, but I knew there was a chance that they might not have confirmed themselves. When we got there, because of the last minute booking their receptionist had already left. Regardless, the guy was super sweet and when we called upper management, they told him to accommodate us and that they would handle it in the morning. They were able to keep us in our room for the two nights that we were there. Very helpful.

This location is amazing. I really enjoyed staring at the view, and I really loved the onsite coffee shop. Also the bakery cart right at the hotel was lovely. Was easy to book a shuttle to Guatamala city straight from the office. Boat lauch to head to other locations around the lake are walking distance from the hotel.

I love this hotel. The day starts off with excellent Guatemalan coffee and moves to a wonderful, traditional breakfast of eggs, fruit, meat, toast and more coffee. The staff is there to answer all of your questions about the lake, transportation and where to get money out of the ATMs. They are very helpful with moving your luggage if your room is not on the ground floor. I have been staying here for many years and they have always met my expectations.

Main Street Santander is not ideal, you listen to reggaeton...
Main Street Santander is not ideal, you listen to reggaeton music in many places which is terrible and so disgusting. There are many little restaurants where you can eat for a fair price. The lake view is great but the surroundings are not very nice, the place is not tourist ready, you might go to other little towns like San Pedro, Santa Cruz or San Juan

Like with many places (or even more than most places) depending on your choices Panajachel can be fabulous, beautiful, exhausting, authentic, spiritual, commercial and ……Read about it as much as you can before you go. Endless options here for all kinds of traveler. I found it to be very interesting and would love to be able to come back some day.

Panajachel is paradise. The weather is beautiful.
Panajachel is paradise. The weather is beautiful. Lots of sun, but not too hot most of the time. Lots of great restaurants. There are a lot of markets stalls around with local goods, like hand woven textiles. The lake itself is amazing. Panajachel has access to something for everyone. San Juan for artists, San Pedro for a nice night life, San Antonio for pottery, San Marcos for yoga retreats, etc. All of the towns are just a lancha (ferry) ride away. Be careful during the rainy season, because in the afternoons you can get soaked

This is a very clean and safe place to stay.
This is a very clean and safe place to stay. I felt very safe being out during the day and at night also. It is easy to get a tuk tuk to take you where you want to go. There are plenty of places to eat with a variety of menu choices. Most menus have vegetarian options. I have never had a problem with finding great food and the prices are very reasonable.
If you want to explore the other villages on the lake, it is easy to take a public boat and go anywhere.

This town is so much fun.
This town is so much fun. Definitely has a tourist trap vibe but the activities here are so much fun. We did an ATV tour to see the sunset. We had a blast! The views were breathtaking. There was some road work that cut our planned tour short but the guild we had was amazing and did what he could to make it a full and worth while experience. Simoon tours was who we went with. Yesua was our guild, though I could be butchering his name, sorry if I am. He was amazing! I would absolutely do other tours they offer, especially if he was the guild again. So much fun!
The hotel is quite simple but very clean and has an excellent location (5-7 minutes and you are in the heart of the city!).
The atmosphere of the place is contagious! The owner and the staff are very friendly and helpful. They will help you with anything you may need, from things related to the hotel, general info about the city to organizing tours to other cities. They also provide a great breakfast and excellent WI-fi (something not so easy to find in Guatemala)
Eli Panajachel is located in a beautiful quiet street, but is still a 2 minutes' walk away from the centre of Panajachel. The garden is beautiful, the kitchen is really good, the staff are very helpful and friendly, and the atmosphere is really uplifting. Eli, the owner-manager of the hotel was really kind to us, even walking with us to our shuttle stop at 4.45am and waited with us until our shuttle arrived at 5am.
The grounds. This hotel sits on the lake with beautiful views of a lush garden. There is a private dock for a boat, mini beach, hot tub/ Infiniti pool and regular pool. There is an aviary near the restaurant where the birds sometimes hop out looking to grab a bite of unattended food. There is a parrot and tucan on the grounds that's beautiful. The hotel has dark finishings making the hotel feel darker.
Great atmosphere and vibe at Selina! Lovely area by the pool and restaurant with lots of great seating spots, there are some residents dogs that are super friendly!!
The bedroom was spacious really comfortable, and had a great design.
It's in a perfect location, really close to the ferry boats to Lake Atitlan and local shops / cafes. Great events, including sunset Yoga looking over the lake.
This is a very comfortable and quiet place to stay. Breakfast is served and the coffee is great. the view from my room was a quiet well landscaped courtyard with a hammock that was always inviting. Bottled water was always readily available for guests and that is always appreciated in Guatemala.
Peaceful, clean, manicured, safe hotel with very professional staff. For us perfect location. For 5 Q you can take a collectivo, which is fun, into Panajachel. Great thermal pool, games room, good breakfast and restaurant. Great views of the lake and the volcanoes from our room.
El Amigo is a family hotel whose owners are very friendly and helpful. They can arrange a transfer by shuttle to Antigua or Guatemala City at a good price. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and if one day I go again to Panajachel, this will be my place to tay.
Balam Ya is a peaceful, beautiful place. Perfect place to relaxed and enjoy Lake Atitlan.
The staff is friendly and super helpful arranging for anything you might want to do or need to get.
We highly recommend a stay at Balam Ya.
The location is great for those needing a central location in Panajachel. The staff is helpful and the onsight restaurant offers a fine breakfast. Reasonably priced; comfortable beds, clean rooms, plenty of hot water & good wifi.
The property is located very close to the Main Street in Panajachel which was excellent. The staff were really friendly and the surroundings were great! We stayed for 2 nights after Acatenango and slept so well !
Amazing view from the terrace. One of the main reasons why I choose this place. Also is really close to the ports for Atitlan, Supermercado La Torre and the main street with restaurants and bars.
When we got there the front office guy was sleeping lol the attendants were helpful.
Best part is the proximity to Calle Santander, lake Atitlan is a few blocks down, the breakfast is delicious.
Great place for transiting through the region to visit Lake Atitlan. The room was spacious and the building was situated in a quite area away from all the noise of the city.
Selina Atitlan is beautiful and the private rooms are so spacious!! The staff is super sweet and helpful. Highly recommend staying here if you find yourself in Panajachel!
The price was ok. The free breakfast from Faro was pretty good. The water and beer the sell in the lobby is about as cheap as you can find in Guatemala.
