Mama was amazing. Could not speak English, I could not speak Italian so we both work on our language skills. She was so nice and welcoming. And the Best Italian “Mama” hugs were had.

Castellammare Di Stabia is an energetic seaside town located just an hour south of Napoli by train and 20+ minutes north of Sorrento. It's the perfect location to visit both of these popular cities as well as Pompeii, Capri, the Amalfi Coast, and even Salerno since you have quick access to the local commuter ferries, Circumvesuviana train, Campania Express, Trenitalia rail line, & even taxis. Other than the convenient location, the best thing about Castellammare Di Stabia is Hotel Desio! The husband & wife owners along with their staff are the kindest people who take hospitality to the next level. The breakfast spread is delicious, plentiful, and served in a large dining room. The bedrooms are simple yet spacious & comfortable. After a long day exploring, it was so nice to come back to my room to rest with the AC on or window open. I call Castellammare Di Stabia the little city that never sleeps since the streets are so busy outside. However, after a quick acclimation period of 1 day, I truly fell in love with the entire town - the sunset views of the sea with Mt. Vesuvius towering in the background - the plethora of beachfront restaurants - the friendly locals - and most importantly, Hotel Desio!! Thank you to Cristina & Paola for such a wonderful stay!

Stunning views of the coast and Mt Vesuvius from our balcony. Our room was immaculate and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. Location could present challenges, but host Giovanni is very helpful in finding solutions to get around. We had a great time and highly recommend!

It was the off season so we got a good deal and it wasn’t too crowded. The facilities are nice and the breakfast was very good. Basic, but clean rooms and very friendly staff. Also this village is very nice, located at the beach near many attractions, yet not as crowded and noisy as in the big city.
This 4-star Hotel offers free parking and spectacular views of the Sorrento Coast. All rooms come with Vietri tiles and overlook the sea or Mount Vesuvius.

An interesting area - a slice of real Italian life which we enjoyed after the hustle and bustle of some of the more tourist driven locations.
We ate at La Medusa Hotel sampling exceptional gourmet fine dining.
There are regular train stations travelling along the north and south coast making it perfect to get anywhere.
Local boat trips take you on refreshing scenic coastal tours, however the day trip to Capri was extremely busy with tourists.
An Amalfi coast boat trip is a must and hop off at the little village gem of Positano.

Surprised to find my original review did not "save" properly. We absolutely loved our accommodations. (Two couples) The view is spectacular up and a bit out of the way. We drove down from Rome airport and enjoyed recovery soaking in the sunset on our first night. The hosts were gracious with our delayed arrival due to heavy traffic. We saw Pompeii and Sorrento the next day then much of Amalfi on the third day. We should have planned another night. So perfect! Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed accept we should have bought a big bottle of water along the way.

A perfect location on the train line between Naples and Sorrento so perfect from which to explore the area. I was alone so didn’t venture out much at night but this certainly seemed an option if desired.

The port area is not renovate at all, the outside walls of the buildings are exfoliating and everyone is drying clothes outside the window which is looking very bad. The place is getting very crowed and the driving here is an adventure to escape without a scratch.

I've been visiting Castellammare since 1978.
I've been visiting Castellammare since 1978. Some terrible damage was done in the earthquake of 1980 but the city has progressed past that and is now a beautiful place again. Even better than before. I love the atmosphere and the friendliness xxxx

The bedside floating shelf broke when I put a 2 litre water bottle on it. One of the knobs on the front door came off. Noise from the street is big. Nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. Good central location. No parking.

Fantastic room (very high) quality with everything you need. Enough space. Looks brand new (2023). Clean and very modern (airco, floor cooling/heating, big shower, hair dryer, LED ambient light, big LCD TV, fridge, enough 230V sockets...
Very nice and adequate owner who wants to give you a five star experience..
The train station is 100meter away. Trains and Busses are low priced. Car parking is more difficult and about € 20 a day. You enter the shops and restaurant and beach area in a few steps.
The staff were so friendly and excited for us to stay there! It was a beautiful room that overlooked the ocean. The main square was very close but the room was still very quiet. It is a hidden gem! The number 1 is only a 15 minute walk for day trips to Amalfi, Pompeii and positano. I do suggest taking the ferry to Amalfi to see the coast on your way. Also the cafe in for the free breakfast was very authentic and excited for us to be there from the new local hotel! Super cozy hotel and fun town!
This place was nice, clean and well located in Castellammare. There is a grocery store across the street. The beach is 2 minutes away with a ton of restaurants and bars. We had free bottled water, coffee and snacks every day.
They also offer a few services if you need them. You can reach them on Whatsapp. Luciano was super nice and organized a shuttle service for us from the train station to the hotel. He also gave us lots of information on things to do and visit in the area.
We loved our stay here. It was convenient for arriving at night from Naples airport, close to Pompeii, and not a bad drive to Sorrento. The staff were so friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious and served with a beautiful view. We were even able to rent a scooter for driving the Amalfi coast at the hotel which was so convenient. There's a grocery store right at the bottom of the hill. Don't hesitate to book it, it was a fantastic three-night stay.
This property is even better than it seems in the photos. It is very clean and spacious with a big balcony. It comes with a washing machine and dishwasher and all other amenities. The hosts were very kind and easy to contact. The location is great a 20 min walk to the beachfront and main area of restaurants and bars, although there are nice places to eat nearby. It is very near the tramline which goes all the way from Sorrento to Naples.
It was the off season so we got a good deal and it wasn’t too crowded. The facilities are nice and the breakfast was very good. Basic, but clean rooms and very friendly staff. Also this village is very nice, located at the beach near many attractions, yet not as crowded and noisy as in the big city.
Amazing and fantastic host. They are very friendly, helpful and responsive. The apartment is spacious, clean and well-equipped with everything you need. Strategic and perfect location with abt 5min walking distance away from the train station. Absolutely wonderful stay and def will come back again!
- fabulous views of the bay of Napels and the Vesuvio.
- brand new hotel.
- spacious and well outfitted rooms
- owner and personnel are super friendly and super helpful.
- super value for money
- very goos breakfast and the breakfast room has the same great view as all the rooms
This hotel has the most beautiful view of the Vesuvius, the mountains and the sea. The detour is worth it just because of it. The room was spacious, very clean and well decorated. All the hotel has good ambiance, including a nice garden. Breakfast was generous and varied.
Furniture and appliances were recently renewed, making the property very comfortable. The location was very convenient, we found supermarkets and other grocery stores within walking distance, less than two blocks away. To get to the beach area was a 5 minutes walk.
Mr. Salvatore, the owner, and his parents were wonderful to us. they treated us like we were their daughters and helped us a lot. Quiet and beautiful place near the beach. There is also a bus station few meters from the hotel.
My recent stay in this classic building exceeded expectations. The room boasted high ceilings, clean, soft bedding, and ample space. Snacks, tea, and coffee added a cozy touch. Communication with the host was excellent.
Location is great. The staff was professional and courteous. The hotel needs renovation. Bathroom sink and shower were clogged. Very old facility. Furniture was old and few non functional. Our room had a wall for view.
Guiseppe, thank you so much! You are just a great person! So generous, so nice, so patient! I wish I could stay longer in Castellammare di Stabia!
The apartment is newly renovated and really very clean.
Spacious clean rooms. Close to train station. Close to the bus stop (50m) if you want to go to path of gods the sita sud bus leaves just from the hotel 1 min away. The breakfast was quite delicious
I like that The hotel was very clean. The terrace had a magnificent view! The view from the room (not facing the Vesuvio) was fantastic as well. The breakfast was very good! Great Fresh bread!
we liked the location, the private beach and that it is located right in the hotel territory. Breakfest is very good, lots of different pastries and liked the big variety of fruits.
Beautiful hotel only 5 rooms, the staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, very quiet hotel, quiet location in a busy town.
The most stunning sunsets.
