We were staying for one night to go to the Pompeii ruins the next day and I wouldn’t recommend to stay longer. The rooms seem to have been recently redone but there were no decorations and the bathroom wasn’t.

The Apollo is the only hotel located in the privileged Bartolo Longo Square, located in the heart of Pompeii only a few steps from the main archaeological site. All rooms have a balcony.
Real great location and a nice room with a balcony
We booked a 2 hour tour of Pompei. My teens grumbled at first as they feel tours are slow but in a place like that, it's nice to get a sense of what you are looking at or what you should be looking for to appreciate it to the fullness. You could explore on your own afterwards but we felt the 2 hour tour covered a lot of ground and provided great information. I wish we would have known to explore Vesuvius as well. It's a smaller location but it was destroyed by lava instead of ash like at Pompei, so preservation was different.

The scale of this archaeological site is vast and impressive. Touring it you get a vivid sense of the daily life of this community. Many of the restored rooms have impressive detail and beautiful architectural features. Be sure to spend a full day or more to cover the site.

We spent the full day in Pompeii (8hrs) and felt we just about saw everything we needed to. There are a couple of cafes inside and you will need them if spending the full day here, especially if it is hot. We were staying near the smaller side entrance and would recommend going in this way, less crowds and you don't meet up with bigger crowds/ buses from the main entrance until about 40 mins or so after it opens. It just gives you a bit of time to wander the first few streets after the amphitheatre in relative peace. We were too impatient to wait for a group to build up take a shared tour so ended up using the audio guide via the official app (bring some earphones). It has numbers outside each place of interest to correspond with the app. You can walk a long way zig zagging the streets (we did 8 miles) including the walk to Villa dei Misteri and back (worth the walk btw).

The archaeological site is vast, but extremely interesting.
The archaeological site is vast, but extremely interesting. A guide is great especially if it's your first trip. Depending on your attitude towards heat you should think carefully about when you go.

We LOVED our stay here. The best place we stayed in Italy. The manager is super nice and she gave us a step by step instructions about everything. The breakfast was delicious. The room is super clean and cozy. Everyone were very nice to us. The property has a free private parking. The location is great (10 min walk to the Archeological park of Pompei).
Everything was great. The flat had everything you may need. The garden is also great inwhich you can have the great breakfast the host prepared. It was the best hotel/homestay breakfast in Italy because there was both sweet and salty things Juice coffee fruits... The host gave me ride to the Pompei old city.
the guest was very helpfull and recommended places to eat and visit. It was the best fresh breakfast we had in Italy so far, highly recommended. Private car parking was very convenient. 10 minutes walk to Pompeia ruins. Large and clean room.
