We spent the full day in Pompeii (8hrs) and felt we just about saw everything we needed to. There are a couple of cafes inside and you will need them if spending the full day here, especially if it is hot. We were staying near the smaller side entrance and would recommend going in this way, less crowds and you don't meet up with bigger crowds/ buses from the main entrance until about 40 mins or so after it opens. It just gives you a bit of time to wander the first few streets after the amphitheatre in relative peace. We were too impatient to wait for a group to build up take a shared tour so ended up using the audio guide via the official app (bring some earphones). It has numbers outside each place of interest to correspond with the app. You can walk a long way zig zagging the streets (we did 8 miles) including the walk to Villa dei Misteri and back (worth the walk btw).

The archaeological site is vast, but extremely interesting.
The archaeological site is vast, but extremely interesting. A guide is great especially if it's your first trip. Depending on your attitude towards heat you should think carefully about when you go.

The Amalfi Coast – with its surreal villages and beautiful coastal panoramas – tops many a traveler's bucket list. Pompei is well located to explore the region and has a rich historical past to explore and to study.

I had gone to Naples the day of my stay in Pompeii.
I had gone to Naples the day of my stay in Pompeii. I definitely enjoyed the vibe in Pompeii more than Naples. Naples was beautiful along the coast, but the city was less than desireable. I realize it's a large population, but it can be improved with small things.
Pompei was smaller and had a vibe of wanting to improve the surroundings and they were doing it! The ruins were beyond astounding and the guide was so knowledgeable. I wanted to stay to do the bus tour of Mt. V but had already purchased my train tickets but my Airbnb host tried so hard to make it happen for me. I would go back to Pompei and to Aries Suite Airbnb!
Our first night in Italy was wonderful. The room was very clean. Location was perfect. The ruins of Pompeii are less than 10 minutes' walk away. Luca was there when needed. A very friendly man who made our stay more than pleasant. Thank you very much Luca. I recommend everyone to stay here
The nicest place we've ever stayed in Italy by a mile. Staff were amazing, the rooms are beautiful with everything you could possibly want, and we can't believe the value for the price ❤️. Perfect location too. Thank you Terra Mia!! We would 10000% stay again.
