Mama was amazing. Could not speak English, I could not speak Italian so we both work on our language skills. She was so nice and welcoming. And the Best Italian “Mama” hugs were had.

Location was very convenient, close to the main commuter train station and ideal for exploring Naples, Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was superb - very clean, all facilities worked, comfortable bed. The breakfast was simple but tasty. A special thank you to the front of house staff, who were always attentive and welcoming. Very good value for money overall.

Castellammare Di Stabia is an energetic seaside town located just an hour south of Napoli by train and 20+ minutes north of Sorrento. It's the perfect location to visit both of these popular cities as well as Pompeii, Capri, the Amalfi Coast, and even Salerno since you have quick access to the local commuter ferries, Circumvesuviana train, Campania Express, Trenitalia rail line, & even taxis. Other than the convenient location, the best thing about Castellammare Di Stabia is Hotel Desio! The husband & wife owners along with their staff are the kindest people who take hospitality to the next level. The breakfast spread is delicious, plentiful, and served in a large dining room. The bedrooms are simple yet spacious & comfortable. After a long day exploring, it was so nice to come back to my room to rest with the AC on or window open. I call Castellammare Di Stabia the little city that never sleeps since the streets are so busy outside. However, after a quick acclimation period of 1 day, I truly fell in love with the entire town - the sunset views of the sea with Mt. Vesuvius towering in the background - the plethora of beachfront restaurants - the friendly locals - and most importantly, Hotel Desio!! Thank you to Cristina & Paola for such a wonderful stay!
Featuring a garden with swimming pool and a large furnished patio, Hotel Villa Serena is right in front of the Stabia Thermal Resort.

Staff was very friendly and rooms were nice. The restaurant next to the lobby made great meals and offered great breakfasts. Parking was generous, too.
Offering views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius from its panoramic terraces and pool, La Medusa is an elegant 18th-century building surrounded by oranges groves and lush gardens.

This hotel has the most beautiful view of the Vesuvius, the mountains and the sea. The detour is worth it just because of it. The room was spacious, very clean and well decorated. All the hotel has good ambiance, including a nice garden. Breakfast was generous and varied.

An interesting area - a slice of real Italian life which we enjoyed after the hustle and bustle of some of the more tourist driven locations.
We ate at La Medusa Hotel sampling exceptional gourmet fine dining.
There are regular train stations travelling along the north and south coast making it perfect to get anywhere.
Local boat trips take you on refreshing scenic coastal tours, however the day trip to Capri was extremely busy with tourists.
An Amalfi coast boat trip is a must and hop off at the little village gem of Positano.

Surprised to find my original review did not "save" properly. We absolutely loved our accommodations. (Two couples) The view is spectacular up and a bit out of the way. We drove down from Rome airport and enjoyed recovery soaking in the sunset on our first night. The hosts were gracious with our delayed arrival due to heavy traffic. We saw Pompeii and Sorrento the next day then much of Amalfi on the third day. We should have planned another night. So perfect! Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed accept we should have bought a big bottle of water along the way.

A perfect location on the train line between Naples and Sorrento so perfect from which to explore the area. I was alone so didn’t venture out much at night but this certainly seemed an option if desired.

The port area is not renovate at all, the outside walls of the buildings are exfoliating and everyone is drying clothes outside the window which is looking very bad. The place is getting very crowed and the driving here is an adventure to escape without a scratch.

I've been visiting Castellammare since 1978.
I've been visiting Castellammare since 1978. Some terrible damage was done in the earthquake of 1980 but the city has progressed past that and is now a beautiful place again. Even better than before. I love the atmosphere and the friendliness xxxx

The bedside floating shelf broke when I put a 2 litre water bottle on it. One of the knobs on the front door came off. Noise from the street is big. Nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. Good central location. No parking.

Mena was really helpful and kind. She gave us recommendations on where to eat and where to go. The place is close to the beach and city center (10 minutes by foot) and has everything you need for your stay (doesn’t have a kitchen but we didn’t need it). The Italian breakfast was tasty (coffee and croissant) and it is served at a nearby cafe. Train station to go to other towns is reachable by foot.
If you speak a little bit Italian is a plus but if not, the basic information is in English Mena will try to communicate in English
Fantastic room (very high) quality with everything you need. Enough space. Looks brand new (2023). Clean and very modern (airco, floor cooling/heating, big shower, hair dryer, LED ambient light, big LCD TV, fridge, enough 230V sockets...
Very nice and adequate owner who wants to give you a five star experience..
The train station is 100meter away. Trains and Busses are low priced. Car parking is more difficult and about € 20 a day. You enter the shops and restaurant and beach area in a few steps.
We used VIP Sul Mare as a base for a trip to Naples to avoid traffic there. Our stay exceeded expactations!! It is located close to train station,we left car - which was great for logistics. Our great host Alfonso was making our stay perfect!! Rooms are spacious and overlooking Vesuvius - view is amazing. We loved fresh orange juice on a balcony with sea view. We spent last hours in Italy on the beach with Capri view just 3 min walk from room! All was ideal! Only 30 min by car to the airport.
Excellent location, close to public transportation. Spacious and well maintained apartment. Full equipped kitchen.
The town is charming.
The house is located in a strategic position, near the Circumvesuviana and a stone's throw from the center.
Special words of gratitude to Lucia, the host. Our whole family appreciates her responsiveness, cordiality and willingness to help in difficult times.
The reception staff went above and beyond,
From some of the older reviews the hotel has picked up alot, couldn't fault them.
Rooms are spacious and clean.
Pool area is staffed with refreshments and it is free despite what old reviews state.
Also has an onsite restaurant that was delicious and reasonably priced.
Central to Pompeii and Naples, 1hour drive to Positano.
One of the best stays we've ever been to. Incredible rooms with comfy beds, mini fridge, spacious and modern bathroom, and the staff were amazing. Great location close to train stations, beachfront, city center. Groceries just around the corner. By far best value stay in Castellammare di Stabia! Thanks for hosting us again
The property was delightful and comfortable, it is located in a strategic place: near all types of shops and near the beach. The place has a huge space for a big family, it has a great terrace, nice kitchen and great rooms. We had a great time spending our time in the property.
I loved the place. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. It felt like home and I was made to feel very welcome right from the start. It's just by the promenade in Castellammare di Stabia, just a few minutes to the station and is extremely convenient for everything.
Partial sea view, very nice. Breakfast and dinner were superb with serving staff always available. Excellent hotel personel, always helpfull and willing to advise, specially front desk and gim (Sara). Room was spacious, comfortable and with attention to detail.
First of all the friendly owner an the staff: giving us advice what and where to see, and even taking us to restaurant or rail station by car to avoid walking.
The hotel is clean and nice with good breakfast.
I would love to come back again.
Fabulous hotel, an oasis in the city. Staff incredibly friendly and beautiful breakfast and pool area. Castellammare was a good location for trips and nice feel down on the beachfront with some good authentic restaurants.
we booked not knowing anything about Castellammare, and after our stay there - we will be back! great hotel rooms, so spacious w a wonderful sea view. staff were so helpful and it was just a delight overall
The view from our room was fabulous. The size of the room was very comfortable. Being able to enjoy drinks outside with the view was priceless. The access to both the pool and beach was very helpful.
