Huge room, high ceiling, massive glass sliding doors that looked out onto the most incredible view of tropical paradise onto the lake. The pool was really warm and perfect for swimming in with our 3 month old baby. Bathroom was also massive and the showers had an open area covered with plastic that was really lovely. We did the cooking class, and think it was probably the best rice and curry we had in Sri Lanka. The hotel arranged safari for us which was 30,000 rupees each for a full day. The hotel was very quiet with only 1 other group there on 2 of the days. We had lots of meals at the restaurant and they were all really yummy although more expensive than if you went to a restaurant or cafe.

Most beautiful and serene location next to a lake. The hosts were super nice and hospitable. Beautiful treehouse room, nice surroundings with hammocks and cute dogs. Perfect for nature connected people. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Our family came from the US to Sri Lanka and chose Serenity Tissa as the hotel we would stay at. Overall, it exceeded our expectations! The manager, Santa, was very hospitable and went out of his way to help us enjoy our stay. We felt very satisfied with the overall environment of the hotel and didn't hesitate to reach out to him or any other staff members if we needed anything. He prepared breakfast and dinner for us on both days while we were there. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and we couldn't be happier! Overall, a 10 out of 10!

Very nice stuff, owner Manju, can organize you great safari. We were driven buy one of personel, had a great experience! Breakfast very rich and very good. Place also have their own restaurant, recommend to try as much as you can, very tasty food. Nice pool great for cooling down after safari. Quiet and exotic place.

Wonderful stay!! Spacious, super clean room (high ceilings and big room)....the grounds are gorgeous, ample common areas, and the staff were very kind. The restaurant was a great value and super convenient!! Definitely a wonderful place to stay!! Only a small knock bc the laundry was quite expensive (even by USA standards) and not cleaned (or dried) to my expectations for the price

    The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

    The location is excellent and the resort is real value for money . The food was excellent . The rooms were nice . The toiletries in the bathrooms needs to improve . The bathroom needs exhaust fans as it can get quite stuffy . The resort manager Mr Upal is a nice friendly bloke and is exceptional in his service . Overall a very pleasant experience .

    This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. The local town is not a tourist town but it's great to wander around looking in the local shops.

    We were there the first time for safari.

    We were there the first time for safari. We had a tour to the Buddha by the sea…amazing. This time we were passing through on our way to Ella. We ate at Red Pizza which was just as good second time round.

    Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early...

    Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early morning Safari. Disappointed with the Safari as there were very few animals except.for.peacocks and spotted dear. Later into the ride our jeep driver and guide revealed we had entered through block 5 of the Safari and most the animals(Leopard, Bears) mostly are sighted in block 1 and 2. Block 1 and 2 were closed that day, maybe just our luck. So I guess check, with the Safari organizer before booking your safari as it quite expensive. Basically disappointed ☹️

    Amazing place. The owner was super helpful. He took me from the bus stop. He even took me to a restaurant and took me back to the hotel. Everything was so comfortable. The staff was so kind. Room was the cleanest compared to other places I stayed in Sri Lanka. They arranged a very nice safari tour. They also offer free bicycle so I could explore the area a bit. Best place to stay especially if you are a solo woman traveller.

    It can be said as the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. The hotel and rooms were clean and the staff was very kind. They brought us from Mirissa in their own taxi. Then we were given a very valuable safari. We were given a very valuable driver. We saw leopards along with many other animals. After the safari we were taken back to Arugambay in their taxi. Prices are very reasonable compared to other places.

    This definitely was the best stay so far during my time in Sri Lanka. The people are really friendly and take really good care of you. Food is great and the rooms spacious, very clean and have great facilities like warm water and a good shower. The environment is also really peacefull and this is a great place to do a safari at Yala (can book this at the hotel - can recommend the full day safari!).

    We stayed for nights for a day safari in Yala arranged by the hotel. upon arrival the family were so welcoming and could not do enough for us. The room was clean and spacious with a view of the lovely garden and swimming pool. We had Sri Lankan curry for dinner cooked by mum which was lovely. The safari was great and we even saw the leopards. We would definitely recommend this hotel

    This motel serves really wonderful meals. The best part of my trip to Sri Lanka was that. We even went on an amazing safari that they organised for us. There's a big river close by that's presently overflowing with water, so swimming is not advised because of the crocodiles. But the large garden provides a wonderful spot to unwind and enjoy your stay at the hotel.
