Awesome place! Newly built (Dec 2024) and well maintained. There are 3 houses, each containing 2 rooms, so 6 rooms in total. Very friendly and welcoming staff, walking distance to Nilaveli beach (700 m), clean and spacious rooms with high ceiling, wonderful food.

    Trincomalee is a beautiful beach town, the beaches are amazing, lots of cultural things to do if you want, as well as lots of relaxation. Some great restaurants on the beach and in the town. The only draw back is it takes quite along time to get to (depending on where you are coming from) but that is the same across most of Sri Lanka

    We absolutely love this area, by far one of the best places in Sri Lanka. After travelling around the island, we decided just to completely chill and not check out the other beaches. We will definitely go back again and check out a few of the other beaches along that coastline. Food is fantastic and the people are very friendly! When we read up about the island, they said that this was the less developed area, but as far as I could see it was the same as most other places. Definitely has everything you need and one of the best places to completely unwind.

    I went to Trincomalee for a family occasion, so I didnt have so much time to explore the area. I found a lovely beach not far away from J7 Villaj Resort and I got the imperssion, there are not so many tourist in the area. There is a lot of activities around Trincomalee, if you like wateractivities, you find them on internet, what to do in Trincomalee...... There are local restaurants serving fresh seafood - from sea daily. Its easy to find a tuktuk or use the app pickme (works in all Sri Lanka). I wish I had more time in Trincomalee after I found the beach, but for sure I will go back and stay there for a longer period. Just take the night train from Colombo (from 11 Eur - first class) or reverse. Its a good place to relax and finish your trip after exploring historical places Sri Lanka.

    Visited Fort Fredrick, The navel base and the town. Deer park in town is a lovely place to come really close to lots of deer in an open setting and feed them too! Free to enter just bought some feed to make friends with the deer!

    I wanted to go to Trincomalee for personal reasons but also...

    I wanted to go to Trincomalee for personal reasons but also because the beach and the hotel looked good. If you want only a beach holiday, then it’s great but if you want to sightsee, you might enjoy central Sri Lanka a bit more. We loved the chance to see a local community. We enjoyed the hotel, so could have stayed a night or two longer but we like Sri Lanka for its rich history and sight seeing opportunities too.

    Can visit most of the places within shorter period like Golden Temple, Nilaveli Beach, Kanniya Hot Wells, Koneshwaran Temple. So many seafood restaurants there delicious Food. Very Good Beach experience.

    Everything! The staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough for you and so friendly too. The location was perfect, very close to the beach. The pool was lovely, clean and well maintained. Our rooms were great. The A/C kept them cool. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was great, lots of fruit, pancakes, hoppers etc. This hotel is a little oasis near a beautiful beach! Wish we were staying longer. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Trincomalee.

    The hotel is beautifully positioned with gardens which run down to a stunning beach. It has a lovely colonial feel to it, and the rooms have a nineteen sixties feel which personally I love. That said, everything is clean, efficient and up to date in other respects. All in all, a gorgeous place to relax if, like us, you have been on the road discovering Sri Lanka’s delights

    Good budget hotel about 4 kms away from the City center. The owner was great and provided all the necessary information to explore in and around Trincomalee. The accommodation was basic but has an AC which worked excellent throughout. So no complaints for the price paid.
