long walk to the room up allot of stairs

Location was great, easy to get to and from quickly.

Condition was really poor and the staff had a bad attitude. I prepared for very little due to the price and was still disappointed. There was a dead fly in the toilet, the top bedding was white but inside it was brown and stained and the hotel is about 50 years overdue for a complete renovation.

Very convenient to Amsterdam Centraal, good value compared to other options, friendly and helpful staff, free WiFi in lobby.

The in-room Internet connectivity didn't work for me, and is expensive.

It was very well located. Right at the city center.

We had the worst experience at check-in. We have booked for the hotel months ago and have pre-paid the full amount to guarantee our reservation. When we arrived at the hotel, they told us that the hotel is overbooked and they will send us to another hotel (which was 20 minutes away). They did not even bother to explain how can we be kicked out of the hotel when they have charged for it months ago to guarantee our stay. The guy at the reception was also rude enough to say, when I asked for explanation or better solution, that we are free to go out and look for a hotel ourselves. At the end they admitted there is a free room for the day, but we had to stay at a room below the ground floor near the laundry while we have booked a Superior Room. They moved us to a normal room on the second day. By the way, it also turns out that the hotel's Superior Rooms are tiny and the room they showed us was smelling badly. Finally the third room we moved to was acceptable.

Great location-right in the middle of the city center. Comfortable beds. Friendly & helpful staff.

WiFi is available in public areas and costs EUR 12 per 24 hours.

Central location

Staff were uninterested, room was tiny, uncomfortable and noisy. Breakfast was awful, not worth the money at all. Hotel is old and looks like it needs a re-furb

Told staff bathroom sink was not draining .. Everyday! They never fix it . Entrance was filthy.. A spill on stairs happened just when we checked in still their when we left also with chewing gum. Had a nightcap the shot of Jack with ice was half a shot! When I walked by the desk person was handing out pictures of Girls to a few guest. So hookers in hotel.. Hard to sleep on the bed... When they cleaned the room all they did was replace the towels left garbage and dirty dishes in room. All and all was very glad to leave. Been to other Tulip Hotels this was the bottom of bottom. I think it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in in 40 years. Also fan air conditioner did not work. As a person that lives in Europe this was a dump and really think you need to send in some under cover people to check it out!

Good location ....

The exterior of the building is amazing as the whole amsterdam and the location for a tourist is awsome because everything is very near.

The fan was not working and I had to take a shower in the evenings not to go out with wet hair everyday. Also the walls are old renovated already and looks not so nice... The hotel is 3 stared and meets the requirements that is neccesary for that level of hotel.

Awful internet connection and you have to sit at a desk. Not wireless. 'TV' internet is a scam, slow, useless. If you want the internet, on your phone, computer etc do not use this place, simple really.

Location location location. This hotel is very close to the Main Train Station, and right in the middle of the city center. The hotel itself was clean, nice bathrooms, working heater(didn't look like it had air conditioning) and claimed to have internet, although I never tried it. It's also got some charm to it, the stair cases are all different, and the hallways walking around are very unique. The loby is fairly large, with lots of seating and a bar.

Like most places in Europe, they put two twin beds together to make a double, not very comfortable if you are sharing your bed with someone.

good value, central location, helpful staff, nice bathroom with powerful shower

room was rather dark with insufficient lighting. I did request an extra lamp but it did not materialise
