Staff is very nice, room was lovely with a lovely view of the Hanseatic Wharf. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of options but not our favorite of the trip (pre-made smoothies were a nice addition though!) Express busses to Ulriken cable car & Bergen Aquarium, as well as to the airport, are very close to the hotel.

It's a great modern hotel, family room had 4 beds at reasonable (for Bergen) price The best thing - you can buy groceries/delicatessen and have your own meal in the downstairs cafe area, when you got tired of spending $300-400 for each meal for a family of 4 in this expensive town

FAQs about hotels in Bergen

Picture-Postcard Norway

Gateway to the western fjords, Bergen is a picture-perfect postcard of Norway at its best. Colorful, wooden houses in UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bryggen contrast wonderfully with the lush greenery of the surrounding Seven Mountains.

For fantastic views of Norway’s 2nd largest city, hop on the cable car to Ulriken Mountain. Alternatively, hike or take the funicular railway up to Fløyen Mountain. With beaches sheltered from the North Sea by islands, Bergen is Norway’s busiest port and a popular starting point for fjord cruises and deep sea fishing.

The fish market in the narrow streets of the historic centre is a popular attraction, while just north is 12th-century St Mary’s Church. Around 1,000 years younger is Bergenhus, one of Norway’s best-preserved forts. Further north is Gamle Bergen, a reconstructed wooden village offering insight into the past.

Cobbled Strandgaten street and Lagunen Storsenter shopping center are just some shopping options, but items aren’t cheap. As you wander around the city look for work by Dolk, Norway’s best-known street artist. Other cultural attractions include many museums and a good music scene ranging from classic to indie.

Booking.com’s range of Bergen accommodation extends out towards Bergen Airport in Flesland, the departure point for many workers on the offshore oil and gas rigs.

Interesting city. Lots to see historically.

Interesting city. Lots to see historically. The fort is a lot of fun with its fascinating staircases and position over the city harbour. The funicular is worth a ride but cafe does get super crowded and restaurant books out for lunch and staff are not at all responsive about adding an extra booking in even when the tables are still half taken.

Beautiful seaside town, way more international than I'd imagined... lots of massive cruise ships making it a stopover... fantastic (though pricey) food and drinks (normal for Norway). Great Sushi and seafood. Highly recommend one of the hikes around Bergen or the furnicular up from Floyen or Ulriken to catch an ariel view of Bergen and the fjords around. You can skip the fjord boat tour.... pricey and not worth it.

Free parking Room was perfect, as in all CityBox. Commun area are small but well done : you can have your breakfast/dîner there, which is a good saving, specially in Norway...

We returned to this hotel after our multiday hike. They kept out extra luggage for a week. Great hotel with a nice design. Location is great, near train station and tram to airport. We had a request and the team was so kind to help us out and give us a beautiful room. Breakfast was plentiful. And the pancakes were the best.

The location is located in a quiet, residential like, neighborhood. You can park your car, even a larger one (5m30). Public transport will take you to the center, which is not very far from this location. The host can give you very good tips about Bergen, and Norway in general.
