It is less filled with tourists than Kathmandu or Thamel and seems to me more authentic. The Durbar square is amazing, as well as the small local temples and stupas. You can find delicious food everywhere, whatever you want, and people are very nice. Of the 3 medieval Durbar Squares I visited (Patan, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur), I was most impressed by Patan's. Maybe because it was so easily accessible to my lodging (I was able to walk there twice), and the smallest of the three; or very possibly due to its being my introduction to the stunning architecture of the Newar culture and the history of Hinduism & Buddhism in Nepal. I recommend a full day to see the temples and do the museum justice; a guide is definitely a plus, to get the most out of your visit.Guest review byLesley - 10.0

Many of them are college students who get training and experience here. The hotel is a social enterprise which supports the local community and trains the next generation of Nepal. The breakfast here is tasty and has many options. Obviously the old buildings and courtyard are lovely.
