Beautiful property, large rooms. Views of the ancient walls from our room. The courtyard was so peaceful to sit out in and sip a glass of wine. The hot tub was relaxing. It was convenient to see the 2 forts.
Located in Elvas, Hotel Brasa is surrounded by gardens and is a 7-minute drive from the city center.

The hotel in overall is simple but it meets the requirements you need to spend a couple of nights on your way.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
The breakfast was simple, but the staff was always ensuring that there was always sufficient.

The staff is very friendly and the space is very clean. The breakfast is awesome. There were not many people, so we got to chill a bit in the pool. Is also very central, so you can go anywhere walking

The hotel is very well located in the town, it has excellent parking and great views out over the surrounding countryside.
I found the staff were very helpful in where to go & visit and provided annotated directions on a local map.
During my visit the restaurant wasn't open but there are plenty off options in the town

Off the beaten path, on the far East side of Portugal (nearly on the Spanish border). Friendly and interesting people, and interesting history to explore through castles, forts and a marvelous aqueduct.

Lots to see, so make sure you have comfortable clothing and shoes.
Like most Portugeus towns, it is very hilly with narrow streets and lots of steps.
Architecture is stunning and historic with plenty of stories of old.
More vegetarian/vegan restaurants would be a bonus.
The whole Alentejo region is a must-see when visiting this beautiful country.

Elvas is an historic old city with an amazing Roman aqueduct. The local restaurants were not catering for tourists and hardly anyone spoke English. We ate in the hotel which was good value in a lovely setting. We visited the British cemetery for the soldiers of the Peninsular War. The old town is is all cobblestone alleys and we kept getting lost but that was part of its charm.

This is a cool fort town on the Spanish border worth visiting. Great for practicing my Spanish and Portuguese. The old town is walkable and worth a day. Get a number of a local taxi service to explore the other two forts nearby, pick up groceries etc. Plan ahead of taking a comboio or autoexpresso as it's in a pretty remote location so you can't just catch a train out every 30 minutes like you can in Lisbon.
The region it is in, the Alentejo is also generally quite beautiful and it's worth taking a bus to Estremoz and the Evora if in the area.

A great small restaurant recommended by the Hotel was Mercato, is a perfect place to dine. Excellent service and food cooked to order with a lot of attention to quality and flavours.
A place like Hotel Rural Monte da Provenca exists because two smart people with great taste invested in creating a little piece of paradise in the rolling hills outside of Elvas. The Booking photos are older and do not show the lusciousness of the garden that has been growing around the pool area. The hotel has been renovated to modern standards while keeping true to its history and Portuguese land house style. This is a place to enjoy peace and quiet while feeling very welcomed by an attentive staff.
Our evening meal was exceptional and cooked to order. One of the best meals we have had in Portugal. The owner described the hotel as her bit of Paradise. We would say the same applies for the guests. Sadly for us we used this hotel as an overnight stop. If we had not been on a tight timetable to catch our ferry we would have stayed longer. Breakfast also lived up to the same high standard. We hope to be able to revisit when we can spend longer in this haven.
I chose the guesthouse as a last minute addition to my journey as I really wanted to return to explore Elvas. The location is ideal as it sits within the city walls and offers the chance to stay within an authentic Portuguese townhouse. The room was more than adequate though I always prefer my own kettle and tea-making facilities in a room whereas the guesthouse offers this in a communal space. Really the location and cost were spot on.
Hello. My friend and I were in Portugal at the Elvas The Queen Residence hotel. We stayed there for 8 days. There we met the hotel employee Ricardo, who took the stress out of us after Spain, where no one speaks English. Ricardo advised us all the best and we want to wish you all the best. +351961939465. We wish you success. We respectfully share our excitement about Elvas.
Lovely location. Gorgeous house. Super staff. Nice breakfast. Beds sweet, but mattresses not good. Also, someone else’s air conditioner or other machine came on periodically throughout the night. The machine was on the terrace below our window. Periods of peace then periods of noise. A bit annoying. So not a good night. Otherwise, it was a super place to stay.
The host was here to welcome us and took the time to give us advice about the city and the places to visit, the restaurants, etc. It was very nice to chat with him. The apartment is ideally situated in the center in a beautiful small street, and the view from the terrace is wonderful. There were even a few things in the kitchen for us to cook.

Cool Guest house is the heart of Elvas and the room gives you all you need for a proper rest. Apart from it, you have also some common areas where you can hangout or drink a tea/coffee.
Maria, from staff, was always willing to help you and to make sure everything was ok!
Breakfast - not still attending minimum expectations
Room - temperature not comfortable; bathroom highly discontent for cold...
Restaurant - standards very low for a 4 stars hotel. Food reached an OK for quality expected but not for service and attendance
Very clean and comfy room. Very good localisation and super nice staff. We cooked ourselves - kitchen is very well equiped. Very nice bathroom even though it was shared one. Entire place is after full renovation so it looks super good.
This hotel was good, the price great value, basic but clean. Breakfast acceptable. Hotel very well situation just on the road bringing you to Spain so very handy for those who are crossing the border to Spain in Elvas.
Great location, super clean, this small boutique hotel has very spacious nicely decorated rooms and great common spaces that make it very confortable. Staff very helpful and gave us good recomendations
Good location just outside the old part of town, with parking available at the hotel. Breakfast was great. We met the owner at breakfast and he is lovely. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.
The location great . the hotel absolutely amazing . the staff not only efficient but very friendly and helpful a fabulous welcome from them all....Breakfast very good and again great service
The location and the surrounding nature.
The swimming pool in the hot days.
The night sky since the place is isolated and there is very little light polution.
