Very good breakfast.
Great hotel overall, very friendly staff and great room size.
The hotel itself, inside, was very quiet.
No sound from other rooms unless they spoke loudly, which is good for privacy.

The gesture of providing Ovos molles de Aveiro as a welcome gift in the room was a nice display of hospitality.

Aviero is beautiful. The town centre has amazing Portuguese style buildings, the streeets are very clean, it is all very walkable and the gondola trips are very reasonably priced and leave from the canal in the central area. These tours are in multiple languages, so suitable for everyone. The local restaurants have all types of great food at very reasonable prices and local supermarkets and shops are really good value. People are friendly and helpful. Loved our stay there.

Lots of tourists in Aveiro at the weekend, many on the moliceiro boat trips along the canal. Lovely way to sightsee if weather is good - it was quite hot before Easter but with a cooling breeze. The multi-lingual guide on the moliceiro gave detailed and interesting information about Aveiro, especially the Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings as well as the stunning modern architecture. Also the fishing history of Aveiro was explained well.
Lovely walks alongside the canal from MELIA hotel, quiet and very little traffic until you arrive in the centre. On Sundays many market stalls selling numerous antiques along both sides of canal.
Back street walks are full of interesting surprises, traditional tiled buildings, sculptures, cafes, restaurants and bars. Very easy to walk around and explore or cycle on numerous dedicated cycle paths. Also excellent S Joana museum and art gallery in centre.
Good place for a long weekend or even a week if you also want to get out of centre to the beaches.

Aveiro is a charming city with fantastic food and friendly people.
We are moving there, that is how much we like it. It is much cleaner and quieter than Porto (where we have lived for the past 3 years.)
There is lots to do, shopping, eating, sites, boat rides, museums, to name a few.
There are lovely cities nearby as well. Ovar, Costa Nova, Águeda and Ílhavo. As well as Coimbra.
It has a great central location 2 hrs from Lisbon and less than an hour from Porto.

Aveiro is a beautiful city overall, my favourite place is the Ria of Aveiro wit his colourful boats and the Barra's beach with his colorful wood-houses as well.
I ate in a restaurant near the shopping centre Forum. I've rent a car from Lisbon to get around so I didn't need a public transport but there's a bicycle in the city to rent to get around which is very useful.
You have to go to a restaurant on time between 12-15 otherwise it won't be easy to find a place that open till late for lunch.
I like traditional restaurants around the city instead of the fast food ones. In Portugal the food is amazing!

I regret not being able to explore the city thoroughly during my visit. Nonetheless, I had a delightful evening at a local pub, which turned out to be a truly enjoyable experience. The people in the city are remarkably warm and friendly, adding to the overall positive impression of my brief stay.

Seeing pictures and videos of Aveiro was excepting more then what I saw. Those who say Aveiro is Portugal's Venice they must not been in Venice. For us it was waste of time to stay overnight. Maybe it was due to construction that was going around the city center. I was very disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend staying overnight. Maybe quick stop on your way.
All the facilities are top notch. The owner is so helpful and sweet. The dinner (€15) was incredible. Breakfast (€5) was also wonderful. The room (hostel portion) was super clean, brand new, great bathroom and bedding. I cant say enough wonderful things about this hostel...and there are also private rooms. There is an inground pool and umbrella table and chairs to hang out. It has been the best hostel i have stayed at as a Camino Portugal pellingrino. You should definitely stay here.
Everything was fabulous start to finish!! This was by far the most unique, beautiful and historical hotel we have or will ever stay in. The attention to detail that went into each room was like nothing we have ever seen. I can’t say enough about the charming staff, they could not have been more helpful and truly delightful - especially Barbara - thank you! So, if you are ever in Aveiro you absolutely need to stay at this exceptional palace! It is an event onto itself!!!
The flat is located at the very center of Aveiro. Very close (<5 minutes walking distance) to many bars and restaurants. Has a fully equipped kitchen, a wide living room and a mezanine as a separate office. The bedroom is very confortable with a huge closet. Bathroom is spacy and very clean. In fact, all the apartment was throughly clean. The instructions for self-checkin were spot on. It is perfect for a weekend getaway.
Apartment is older but very spacious and reasonably well maintained. Location is walkable to the center of Aveiro. We never met the host but check-in instructions were clear. There is free parking in front of and behind the building; access to complex can be confusing because of nearby railway tracks and overpass directly in front of building. Internet signal is good.
Absolutely fabulous apartment, very well located and beautifully laid out! With a scenic view over the canal - one could hear the occassional hooting as the Moliceiros went by below. Such a lovely ambiance. Conveniently located across the way from the lovely Forum Aveiro shopping centre. Would love to stay at Avenida 60 again! Highly recommended.
Modern appartment directly located at the center of Aveiro, canal with boats full of tourists directly at the front door, everything close by. Public parking on the opposite side of the canal always had space for us (to offload/onload luggage I would recommend to temporarily and briefly park the car in front of the apparment).
The Hotel is very well located in front of the train station in the centre of the city, Aveiro. I haven't been there more than 20 years so I was pumped up to have visited the city again and see how much it's developed. It's a beautiful city. The hotel is spotless and the bed comfortable.
Decent hotel for a rather short stay to explore Aveiro and its surroundings. Not directly in the city center, but the walk isn’t long. Part of the hotel feels a bit dated, and it’s rather a conference hotel than a vacation hotel. Overall totally fine, but don’t expect to be wowed.
The hotel is in a great location, right in the center. Everything is walking distance. There is a a free parking 5 mins walk from the hotel. The room was suprisingly spacious, spotless clean, big toilet, very comfy bed, and there was space to put bags and all. Highly recommend :)
Great location and house space. We were 5 and there were beds for 3 more people. It is a renovated old house, simple and perfect for a stay in Aveiro. So close to the centre at walking distance of everything we wanted to visit. Everything was very clean and very comfortable.
Modern and very welcoming hotel located 5 minutes walk from the city center. When we took over the room we were surprised to find cakes, chocolate and water accompanied by a welcome message. Rich enough breakfast with modern pill coffee maker and orange juice
The room was clean and the location of the hotel is perfect to visit the city. The city center is not far and it is a 5 minutes walk. I loved the breakfast, the fresh bread, and all the food. I arrived from Oporto by train and the train station is very close.
At the first thank you about i arrived 2:30 it was so hat i called for check in early, i check in so easy without problem, It was really big room and clean , had a hair dry😍 , near the bar and center and forum aveiro, quiet place , it was look like home
Its location was perfect for exploring Aveiro on foot. Our room was large with beautiful windows all down one side. The bathroom was also large perfect for what we needed. The parking deck is below the hotel so very convenient if you arrive in a car.
The Pingo Doce supermarket at the ground floor, the parking that was entirely safe , the location so close to the center, how clean the apartment was, how close to all the major points of interests in Aveiro I was actually.
Wake up in front of the river was amazing!. The location is very nice, quiet and cozy. Looks clean ans safe. We loved the little houses with stripes, turn to become a good design. Its About 10kms to Aveiro city center.
Great little hotel in a quite area of Aveiro. Easily to reach from the train station and City Center as well as restaurants are in walking distance. Basic breakfast available and very helpful and friendly staff.
