The hotel has a modern feel, as it only recently opened. The rooms are reasonably sized and offer enough space to feel comfortable, while the bathrooms are modern and practical. The interior is kept in a clean, Nordic-inspired style that creates a pleasant atmosphere. The location is in the district of Sickla, which itself is quite interesting with a lot of modern architecture. While the hotel is not directly in the city center, there is a bus stop just nearby with a connection every 20 minutes. The ride takes about 10 minutes and goes straight to Slussen. Although there are currently many construction works around Slussen and the bus terminal has been shifted slightly, it remains one of the city’s main transport hubs, from where all other parts of Stockholm can be reached easily. The reception staff are very friendly and attentive, and the quiet setting of the hotel makes it easy to get a good night’s sleep. In addition to breakfast, guests can always help themselves to coffee and tea at the reception area, and in the afternoons and evenings light snacks and meals are also available for those spending time at the hotel.

Location in Gamla Stan was perfect for seeing the interesting sections of Stockholm. Quiet street, just a block or two away from the busier ones made for comfortable noise level. The hotel is charming - old but well appointed. Breakfast was delightful.

It's easy to get around. People are friendly, courteous. There was the Cultural festival on in August which made it interesting to walk round at night - lots of events for families and all ages. It is easy to explore Stockholm on foot, by bus or by water - we took a short cruise to Vaxholm and really enjoyed the scenery. Lots of food to choose from - we ate local food mixed in with sandwiches, pastries and some Italian as well.

I went for the opera at Drottningholm Palace Theatre.

I went for the opera at Drottningholm Palace Theatre. Nowhere else in the world can you experience first rate Baroque opera in a theatre of that period which has been restored with original materials to its original form and is still in use. It is unique and provides a wonderful experience every August. One of the many fine examples of available attractions in Stockholm.

Stockholm is a beautiful city with much to see.

Stockholm is a beautiful city with much to see. There some excellent museums and galleries - I particularly enjoyed Fotografiska, the national photography museum, and the Vasa Museum, which tells the tale of an ill-fated ship from the 17th century. There are many good restaurants offering international cuisine, but you really should try the local fare - a plate of Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and lingonberries is hard to beat! There is much to see in Stockholm, from walking the streets and admiring the architecture, to taking a leisurely sightseeing cruise of the archipelago. I recommend it greatly and I look forward to returning some day.

This is a very compact city and easy to get around. Lots of interesting historical buildings and things to do. Highly recommend the Vasa museum, Skansen and, of course, the ABBA museum. We would also recommend an Archipelago Boat tour, however we had bought the Hop-on Hop-off Bus and Boat tickets but did not feel they were value for money as the city is easy to navigate on foot.

    Stockholm is wonderful.

Stockholm is wonderful. The 24 hours boat ride with a single ticket allows tourists to explore most of the important places and that I did. I was only upset to know that the city hall was built much later, and Nobel prize ceremony was held elsewhere. I was interested to see the chairs where Rabindranath Tagore, Barnard Shaw, Albert Einstein (Einstein could not attend the ceremony though, came later and gave his famous lecture) sat. The guide could not give any correct information in this regard. He only stated that it was hold at Grand Hotel earlier.

Very healthy breakfast. Different seeds and dried fruit. Natural yoghurt and different breads. Large cold cuts platters. Salad, ham and cheese. Great coffee. different juices. Views out to the water too. Best part of my stay. The hotel is 25 minutes flat walk from the central terminal (bus and train). It is on an island, Skeppsholmen, in the centre of Stockholm. You can walk round the island easily, mostly on flat ground.
