The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. The amazing Old Town and the Sultanahmet are home to iconic Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. More history is hidden in the Topkapi Palace, where you can glimpse the splendor and opulence of Turkey’s Ottoman heritage.
Take a stroll through the historic center or the busy Taksim Square before watching the sun set behind countless mosques and minarets. Local fish markets and numerous restaurants lining the bridge to Galata offer the Golden Horn’s daily catch.
If you prefer the fine art of bargaining to fine art, lose yourself in the Grand Bazar and maybe you’ll emerge with a hookah, some Turkish coffee, or even a carpet. The Spice Bazar further immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of Turkish culture.
Getting to Istanbul is an easy trip from Ataturk International Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel on the Asian side or a budget hostel in Taksim Square, Booking.com has over 1,000 great accommodations for a vacation in Istanbul.
Beautiful city and nice people. There's something for every taste: history and sights, good food, good transportation, shopping, both for souvenirs and modern products. Seeing the cats on the streets, especially in Fatih (the old city) gave me the feeling of an open home.

Beware of Istanbul as a 'tourist trap' Do not use the extremely expensive restaurants on the main street but go back a couple of streets and use the local cafes and try the local stuff like Borek - much better.
Note the prices for 'foreigners' at all the attractions (Upto 10 times more in places like Topaka). Very unfair - you feel victimised.
Use the ferries to travel - good value and quite relaxing but...can be very full at times.
Visit the islands to see a different aspect of the area. Longer boat trip and better than going on a 'Bosphorous Tour' which is again a tourist trap for money.
Try to visit Camlica Mosque - it is spectacular - don't bother with the nearby Camlica new tower!! (you can see it from a distance - much better)
In Turkey every restaurateur / shop keeper / assistant will try to pull you in to sell you something - they can be very persistent and annoying and initially your very best friend as well (until you try to walk away without buying anything) - it makes it hard to just look!!! Remember to always haggle the price and start ambitiously low - it can work!!
There are no apparent traffic rules in Istanbul so careful crossing roads and Motorbikes/Scooters/Electric Bikes regularly use the pavements - yes PAVEMENTS to avoid the traffic!!!!!
A boat ride to Kadikoy (just 24TurkishLira per person 20 mins away) will take you to a shopping area which is MUCH cheaper than Istanbul itself)
Istanbul and its surroundings is an amazing place to visit just be aware of the tourist / foreigner traps. Plan your visit and have a good map with you.

Incredible city full of beautiful mosques, amazingly decorated palaces and very old romans ruins to visit, like the Basilica Cistern. The Turks are lovely, friendly, helpful and welcoming people. The transport system in Istanbul is incredibly easy to use, cheap and fast with the istanbulkard. You can simply use every mode of transportation with one single card for two or more people.Highly recommended and the fastest way to see all the attractions. Unfortunately we were let down by the food, it is the same in every restaurants and not the best quality compared to the Turkish restaurants in the UK

Is a lovely, vibrant and beautiful city. The traffic is chaotic, and you need to leave yourself time to get anywhere. It’s best to walk around the City. The people were friendly, food is delicious, history fascinating, scenery stunning

I enjoyed visiting all the beautiful mosques, the Bosphorous...
I enjoyed visiting all the beautiful mosques, the Bosphorous Cruise, Asian side, the efficient transport system. I ate a variety of food not just Turkish cuisine. It was easy to get around Turkey but I had a bad experience when we arrived at the airport with one of the yellow taxi's. When we got into the taxi he completely ignore us when we said turn on the meter and he was so busy texting and driving and also had a video call with his wife all the way until we reached our destination. He over charged us a rate of 1500TL for a 40km ride and said that because he used bridges and the highways, his taxi is taxed for that. The taxi driver also drove horribly fast and we were concerned of our safety. I unfortunately did not get the registration number so I could not add it here. Anyways we made the best of the time that we were in Instanbul. I would not use a metered taxi next time I land in Istanbul and will try and a private pick up service. Hope that this feedback helps
The hotel was great, very convenient location close to Taksim square. The hotel is very clean.
The room is very big and bright, there’re many TV channels, including Russian. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The host speaks fluent Russian and helped me a lot during my stay, told be about best places to visit, helped to charge the transportation card, and called the taxi to the airport at discount rate.
I enjoyed my stay a lot and next time in Istanbul will choose this hotel to stay again for sure.
I strongly recommend Weingart Hotel, first of all, because of the staff behavior - Mr. Dovlet was wonderful and very helpful, he answered our requests and tried his best to make our stay a memorable one. Many thanks also to Mr. Tayfun! The location is a very good one - next to Galata Tower, to tram station (between Karakoy and Tophane), short distance to Taksim Square and easily to reach Sultanahmet area. The breakfast was diversified and tasty. It is not luxury accommodation, but comfortable and pleasant.
Everything was great at the hotel, the location is great just few steps away from Taksim Square, the staff is amazing & very friendly , very helpy, the room is spacious, the lobby is huge & luxury, they have amazing Terrace & wonderful rooftop bar & restaurant in floor 27 with amazing view of bosphorus & Taksim Square
They are very professional in dealing I broke accidentally glass of water & they refused to charge me
I highly recommend it
The hotel is in a very good location. Close to Istiklar street, taksim square. Lots of places to eat, bars and clubs are all around this area. The staff is very helpful and friendly, they organized a transportation to the airport and gave recommendations of when would be the best time to leave. We stayed here for a few nights. There was a conditioner, hot water and comfortable beds. Walls are decorated with nice Ottoman paintings.
This is the second time we have booked this hotel. If you have a short or long time schedule to stay in istanbul near Taksim Square I would like to suggest this hotel to everyone.
Reception services: Excellent
Shuttle service: Excellent
Room Service: Excellent

Delicious breakfast, deluxe rooms, amazing spa & finally fantastic environment.
I’ve been there also in summer 2011
One of the best hotel in Istanbul where I stayed. Great location near Stiklal street and Taksim square and park. Also you can visit Galat tower and Dolchebache palace by walking.
The room is entire flat with many amenities.
The view from windows was awesome.
We had a good night sleep.
Friendly and kind receptionist.
Good price.
Ten minutes walk and you on Havis bus stop. From it you can ride to the airports.
We arrived before check in and they gave us the room early since it was available. Breakfast was great and had a good variety. The hotel is nice and clean. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff is very friendly. Location is fantastic, only steps from Taksim square. Balcony had a view of the Bosphorus. They had a place to store luggage before leaving for the airport. We will definitely be staying here again!
The hotel is located nearby Taksim square, a nice start to explore Istanbul. The staff is really friendly and helpfull A++
From Istanbul airport you could take a taxi to the hotel for around 700-800 Lira. They don`t offer breakfast but have coffee, coockies, water and some fruits available in the lobby. Around the hotel are plenty of restaurants where you can have your breakfast.
I loved this hotel, which is 5 minutes walking distance from Taksim Square. The staff is very polite and helpful. The best part is that it is a family business. Next time I come to Istanbul, I will definitely stay in this hotel with my family. It was very clean and nice. Thank you very much to Mr. Gökhan and Mr. Orhan who helped with everything.
Amazing location, just next to Taksim square. Room is newly furbished and very clean. Very close to bus shuttles which go to airport, also close to Istanbul metro. Hotel staff was also friendly and helpful. If you are in Istanbul for couple of days and looking for a central hotel just to sleep, perfect choice.
the staff was friendly and really helpful especially selcuk and saftir they were great hope u give them a raise 😂🤍 , the hotel is quiet and very clean had the best stay in Istanbul even though i stayed in 5 stars hotels and expensive hotels this one was better and the quietest & best of them all
I love the location, the room, the price, everything.
Anyone coming to Istanbul on a budget should stay here, which is just 12 mins walk to Sultanahmet Square. Avoid Galata place or Taksim Square. This hotel offers better price than those places which are far away from the city attractions.
It was our fourth or fifth time in this hotel. this is our favorite hotel in istanbul. the staff is just perfect
always there to help. especially Murat that he became a friend and always happy to help and giving info. the location is TOP! right on the Taksim square. don't hesitate!
