The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. The amazing Old Town and the Sultanahmet are home to iconic Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. More history is hidden in the Topkapi Palace, where you can glimpse the splendor and opulence of Turkey’s Ottoman heritage.
Take a stroll through the historic center or the busy Taksim Square before watching the sun set behind countless mosques and minarets. Local fish markets and numerous restaurants lining the bridge to Galata offer the Golden Horn’s daily catch.
If you prefer the fine art of bargaining to fine art, lose yourself in the Grand Bazar and maybe you’ll emerge with a hookah, some Turkish coffee, or even a carpet. The Spice Bazar further immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of Turkish culture.
Getting to Istanbul is an easy trip from Ataturk International Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel on the Asian side or a budget hostel in Taksim Square, Booking.com has over 1,000 great accommodations for a vacation in Istanbul.

I remained on the Asian side and explored with a local born and bred Turkish friend. Like all big cities get off the tourist trails explore and enjoy. I found the Asian side cheaper and more vibrant than previous trips to the more touristy European side of the city.

Staff of shops and restaurants are far too pushy.
Staff of shops and restaurants are far too pushy. You cannot even read a menu for 5 seconds without being hassled... and don't even mention the attempts to sell carpets but it remains an amazingly beautiful city with it's history and architecture

Istanbul is a great city with long history.
Istanbul is a great city with long history. City is clean and well arranged. Traffic and transportation exceed expectation. City was little crowded as a tourist place. Street shopping for clothes is value of money. Food and all related matters were quite expensive and differ from shop to other but overall expensive. It was clear that if you do not speak Turkish language you will get ripped. I have been happy and enjoy my stay and filled in love with this city and looking forward to be there again and again.

Beware of Istanbul as a 'tourist trap' Do not use the extremely expensive restaurants on the main street but go back a couple of streets and use the local cafes and try the local stuff like Borek - much better.
Note the prices for 'foreigners' at all the attractions (Upto 10 times more in places like Topaka). Very unfair - you feel victimised.
Use the ferries to travel - good value and quite relaxing but...can be very full at times.
Visit the islands to see a different aspect of the area. Longer boat trip and better than going on a 'Bosphorous Tour' which is again a tourist trap for money.
Try to visit Camlica Mosque - it is spectacular - don't bother with the nearby Camlica new tower!! (you can see it from a distance - much better)
In Turkey every restaurateur / shop keeper / assistant will try to pull you in to sell you something - they can be very persistent and annoying and initially your very best friend as well (until you try to walk away without buying anything) - it makes it hard to just look!!! Remember to always haggle the price and start ambitiously low - it can work!!
There are no apparent traffic rules in Istanbul so careful crossing roads and Motorbikes/Scooters/Electric Bikes regularly use the pavements - yes PAVEMENTS to avoid the traffic!!!!!
A boat ride to Kadikoy (just 24TurkishLira per person 20 mins away) will take you to a shopping area which is MUCH cheaper than Istanbul itself)
Istanbul and its surroundings is an amazing place to visit just be aware of the tourist / foreigner traps. Plan your visit and have a good map with you.
Great boutique hotel in Taksim away from the nosy streets. The staff are the best in this hotel. Mohammed and Abdul Al-Rashed (I think) are very professional, friendly, and the speak better English than many other staff in 5 stars hotels in Istanbul. Whatever you ask of them they do it efficiently and promptly. They are always eager to help. Once you spent more than 1 day at this hotel, it becomes like home and it brings peace once you enter the lobby. I love it, thanks staff and management for doing an excellent job
This is one of my best experiences in Istanbul .. We have booked the room with the hammam which is highly recommended. The room is clean and the place is very close to Istiklal Street and the famous Taksim Square .. What distinguishes the place most is the way the hotel staff treated us during our stay, as it was very courteous and kind .. I especially mention here the receptionist, "Mustafa", as he was very helpful and kind in dealing with us and in meeting our requests .. I advise everyone to this beautiful hotel..
Great hotel, located within 10seconds walk of Taksim square and Istiklal street, where you will find all the cafes, restaurants, shops etc.The hotel is nicely furnished and the staff are amazing.Very good breakfast on rooftop restaurant. Although all the main sites are not close they are easily within walking distance . we never used a bus or tram or taxi to get around. Best to stay in this area and visit Sultanahmet( the historical area) during the day. Will definitely stay here again when in Istanbul again
I always stay in this hotel because of experience staff who are working in this hotel I have to mention and thanks first ms nazly she is an excellent experience person in management team. Also the reception staff yousif at night and bushra at morning. The cleaning staff. Within my staying time I feel I been home and treat it perfectly which normally except for a 5 stars hotel. I diffidently recommend this Ramada hotel to anyone want to be enjoying and feel the best hospitality in Istanbul
Interesting location if you look for the real Istanbul, but not the one neat touristic place near Istiklal street and Taksim square. But just in 5 minutes walk from the hotel you can get to the Grand Bazaar (Kapali Carshi) and the most significant mosques (Blue mosque Sultanahmet and Hagia Sophia) are just 20 minutes walk. Sometimes it might be dirty and smelly nearby, but it is normal for the area.
Tea and coffee are available 24/7 free of charge.
The hotel exceeded our expectations, the staff were super friendly and they upgraded our room to a suite! The suite was very spacious and clean, and the location was really good and close to Taksim square, to the metro station, to many restaurants and shopping airport and it also has the Havaist station close to the main gate, so it's very convenient to go and back from the airport. We're willing to stay here again when visiting Istanbul.
Alya Suits Taksim, just remember this name for the budget friendly hotel in Istanbul near Taksim square. I have stayed here to attend my meeting in Istanbul and found it comfortable & easy to approach. The hotel receptionist (Mr. Vicky) is very friendly and cooperative. The location of the hotel is great. The room was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials and fantastic view. Will be back to this place soon..!!!
The hotel is close to Taksim square which is ideal as I was in Istanbul between flights. Ingoing flight was delayed and arrived in the morning instead of evening and still allowed to use the room, to fresh up and rest. Nice hotel in a great part of town.
Nice modern room.
Thanks to the guy on the reception for his help and possibility to use the room and drop of bags for the rest of the day.
The breakfast was good and there was a variety to choose from compared to the same level hotels in Istanbul, The restaurant manager was a very nice person, also the staff at the reception and the lobby were so friendly and helpful. There is a free shuttle to drop you at nearby Osmanbey or Taksim square, as it is difficult to reach their walking because it is like going up hill.
I can only highly recommend this place: spatious room, great location for those who want to stay in Sultanahmet, and the amazing host Ali (hotel owner). Mr. Ali was the best host I have ever met with good suggestions and tips for things to do in Istanbul. He also organized a taxi for me from the hotel to the airport when I was leaving.
EXCELLENT BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN CENTRAL ISTANBUL
- Professional team offering 5 stars services.
- Good situation of the hotel in the vicinity of Taksim square which is the heart of the business and leisure quarter in Istanbul.Although it is very quiet.

Location is great. It's easy to get there by bus or Metro from New airport and from SAW airport as well. Taksim square is in 2 minutes from Hotel.
Istiklal street is nearby.
Staff is friendly.
Good hotel to stay 1-2 days there, espacialy during transit in Istanbul.
5 minutes of walking to Taksim Square, the hotel located on the istiklal street.
friendly receptionists, clean rooms , good facilities and furniture,The room is big compared to hotels in Istanbul, for sure this hotel will be my choice for the next trip to Istanbul
Room is very Nice the Manger of the Otel is amazing very Helpful Location not bad not good it's like 6 Mins to Taksim Square overall it's Good . If I go to Istanbul again maybe i will visit the Hotel because the staff is very nice and did good Hospitality
