Beds, bedding, pillows were comfortable. Location was excellent with close bus stops. The Silver Spring Station is very close and can be walked or you can catch a quick bus. Lots of good food and stores within walking distance. This area feels and looks a bit more safe with the lighting than some other locations we visited but you will still run into a few sketchy people. The water for a shower gets really hot if you turn it on properly. You have to turn the knob left and completely go past (cold) keep twisting until it stops and then twist it backwards- if you don't fully turn it, it will never warm up. There is an iron and board,, hair dryer, mini fridge, tv, Cuisinart coffee pot that can brew 1 or 2 cups at a time, a few packs coffee, creamer, 1 paper travel cup with lid, soap, shampoo, conditioner and an ice bucket with 2 glasses. There is a safe but we didn't try to figure it out. Elevators were clean and working. We never saw rodents or bugs. Restraunt cook was friendly and gave us extra creamers. There was an outlet beside 1 bed, double outlets on 2 lamps with 1 being used for the provided alarm clock. A/C was in working order but you will have to adjust it as soon as you go in as it feels like they wait until you arrive to turn it on. You can adjust the temperature and fan speeds. The joining rooms were quiet as well as the hallways but we believe there were not many people staying on our floor which was on the 10th level. The streets were pretty quiet for being a big city but a building was being demolished across from us so there was some noise in the mornings. We had a very nice view of the street from our big windows. There is a small round table you can move, a comfy office type rolling chair and a folding luggage seat.

It was very clean and well located. The checkout is at noon, which gives enough time to prepare, especially with kids.

Loved the fact there was kitchenware as I had been travelling was getting a bit sick of restaurants food so nice to have a semi home made meal.
Not too get from Metro, only pet hate and that's probably just me is you spend more time waiting for pedestrian crossings.

Comfortable bed

Friendly, helpful staff made our stay enjoyable. Access to good, international restaurants, Metro, and buses was good. Neighbors was quiet. We enjoyed walking on residential streets and viewing residents’ beautiful azaleas.
Bad location. Run down hotel. Paper thin walls. Front desk manager lady rude. Parking was unacceptable. Checked out early and never got points, refund or receipt. Felt unsafe both in and outside of hotel. This property is not the quality of any of the Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed in. It's like IHG bought a Motel 6 and put their logo on it.

We stayed at Silver Spring as a base for visiting Washington...
We stayed at Silver Spring as a base for visiting Washington DC, trying to avoid paying $400/night or something crazy like that which you would pay for a more central location.
The metro station is nearby, which is helpful - but factor in a $3.80 fare each way to downtown DC.
The area has many restaurants and cafes, none of which are very high end. There is a Whole Foods and another supermarket.
The overall feel is ok - it doesn't feel too safe to be with a young family walking around in the evening.
Overall it is ok, but not really a place for spending a lot of time.

Location was great. Room was terrible!
Location was great. Room was terrible! Mildew smell, had to go purchase air freshener just to stay in the room. Carpet was nasty, heat wasn’t working purchased extra blankets for comfort. Complained to front desk and was told to contact who ever I booked the room with (Booking.com) to complain. Also was told that the Hotel was old and the owners need to upgrade. Would tell anyone that wants to book here not too… the pictures LIE !!

I am only in Silver Spring because I can get neurological therapy here that is not available elsewhere. If it weren't for that, I would not be visiting Silver Spring. Since my therapy may continue for a few months I will hopefully be able to stay here. I can't rate Silver Spring other than that because I did no sight-seeing or touring.

Very convenient place to go downtown DC.
Very convenient place to go downtown DC. Good people, good environment. I made it a rule to walk back and forth between the apartment and Silver Spring station because it was so comfortable taking a walk every day.

The front desk manager her behavior was not good towards me...
The front desk manager her behavior was not good towards me even her other colleagues knows that I told them why your front desk manager treating and her behavior is not acceptable to me. As you all know that I stay in Hilton hotels most the time for ten days more than any of your guests. I want you to look after this matter. I don’t want me or my friends put ratting or review of Hilton on Google in negative way
The second night, after much effort on our part, we had a comfortable room. Had we been given that room from the beginning, we'd be giving the hotel a very good rating. it was a good location for what we needed, and the second room we had was quiet, the tv worked, and it was comfortable. The first night was not good at all, and the staff dropped the ball a few times.
The room was very comfortable, and my brief interactions with the staff were good. It was obviously a property going through a ransition, with the change in management. In spite of that, I had a comfortable night's stay. I left at 3:00 am for the airport, so did not have breakfast. The hotel is in a great location. I would defnitely stay there again.
Room was spacious, clean and beautiful. The hallways a common areas were clean and the ice machine worked (you will be surprised how many hotels don’t have working ice machines). I appreciated the fully stocked market in the hotel and the breakfast was delicious and affordable.
The facility does not close to the standard of even a motel. R roach in every room I visited trying to select one and there's no betting soap, no microwave, there's nothing no basic thing to even call the place of hotel it's horrible I regrets pain so much money for that place.
I have stayed at dozens of hotels in DMV. This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spacious and clean. Free parking. Thank you so much.
I love this hotel, esp. the workout facilities. But they've been renovating FORever, so still a mess inside. But nice staff and helpful longtime security person. I've stayed here for years and will continue to go there, just can't wait for the renovations to finish.
The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and efficient, and the free breakfast was above average. We paid for the parking, which was reasonably priced at $20. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the DC area.
Good choice of breakfast, sufficient for our needs. Casual furnishings, good service from wait staff.
We parked in the lot attached to the hotel and we appreciated that they provided a ticket so we did not have to pay overnight charges.
Breakfast was the same every day. We had the buffet breakfast but this did not include waffles or an omelette as this was an extra charge. So we wouldn’t have breakfast at the hotel another time.
Sound proofing of rooms is not as good as I've experienced in other hotels. Otherwise, it was great. Staff was friendly. I especially enjoyed your weekday bartender Johann.
My family said they would love to come back and stay at this hotel again. Everything is so clean and the location is right in the heart of downtown Silver Spring.
Loved the fresh baked cookies at check in! Room was great, location of hotel was closer to where we were going than expected! Great part of town overall.
I love this hotel. The decor is beautiful, the rooms are nice & clean and the staff was friendly and helpful . I would definitely use this hotel again :)
