Loved the fact there was kitchenware as I had been travelling was getting a bit sick of restaurants food so nice to have a semi home made meal.
Not too get from Metro, only pet hate and that's probably just me is you spend more time waiting for pedestrian crossings.
Fast internet
Comfortable bed
Bad location. Run down hotel. Paper thin walls. Front desk manager lady rude. Parking was unacceptable. Checked out early and never got points, refund or receipt. Felt unsafe both in and outside of hotel. This property is not the quality of any of the Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed in. It's like IHG bought a Motel 6 and put their logo on it.

We stayed at Silver Spring as a base for visiting Washington DC, trying to avoid paying $400/night or something crazy like that which you would pay for a more central location.
The metro station is nearby, which is helpful - but factor in a $3.80 fare each way to downtown DC.
The area has many restaurants and cafes, none of which are very high end. There is a Whole Foods and another supermarket.
The overall feel is ok - it doesn't feel too safe to be with a young family walking around in the evening.
Overall it is ok, but not really a place for spending a lot of time.

Location was great. Room was terrible!
Location was great. Room was terrible! Mildew smell, had to go purchase air freshener just to stay in the room. Carpet was nasty, heat wasn’t working purchased extra blankets for comfort. Complained to front desk and was told to contact who ever I booked the room with (Booking.com) to complain. Also was told that the Hotel was old and the owners need to upgrade. Would tell anyone that wants to book here not too… the pictures LIE !!

I am only in Silver Spring because I can get neurological therapy here that is not available elsewhere. If it weren't for that, I would not be visiting Silver Spring. Since my therapy may continue for a few months I will hopefully be able to stay here. I can't rate Silver Spring other than that because I did no sight-seeing or touring.

Very convenient place to go downtown DC.
Very convenient place to go downtown DC. Good people, good environment. I made it a rule to walk back and forth between the apartment and Silver Spring station because it was so comfortable taking a walk every day.

The front desk manager her behavior was not good towards me...
The front desk manager her behavior was not good towards me even her other colleagues knows that I told them why your front desk manager treating and her behavior is not acceptable to me. As you all know that I stay in Hilton hotels most the time for ten days more than any of your guests. I want you to look after this matter. I don’t want me or my friends put ratting or review of Hilton on Google in negative way
I did not like anything about my experience with Booking or Holiday in Express Silver Spring. In fact, I never stepped foot in the room or lay my head on the pillow. As I sttod in the lobby, the employee went to his supervisor who had him relay a message to me that my money would be fully refunded, despite the no cancellation policy. I am now having to make calls to t3ack down my refind. You and Holiday Inn Express should have handl3d this without me having to stress over it. Terrible experiencr and I may not use your service again
Very good location if you need to be in Silver Spring, and walkable to.Metro, but I wouldn't stay here if you're planning to spend most of your time in DC for sightseeing etc, as the price is comparable to various downtown DC hotels.
Skip the hotel coffee bar and Starbucks and head to any of the numerous Ethiopian coffee shops within a few blocks. Parking is free on Sundays in the adjacent garage, which is owned and operated by the county. Staff were all very friendly and my top floor room was clean and up to Courtyard standards.
I book with the doubletree but when I got there it was just Silver Springs the rooms were outdated they overcharge me when I got there I'm completely disappointed at the fact that I had stains on my bed now the customer service was wonderful the people downstairs were wonderful very Is very nice individual But I booked the doubletree and it didn't have doubletree amenities or accommodations so I'm completely like what's going on as much as they charged
We stayed in a suite. The room was clean and spacious. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Hotel phone on our room didn't work and the bolt lock on our door was broken. This was noted by the staff upon check out. Overall a very nice hotel with convenient grocery store and shopping center across the street.
The room smelled so bad that I had a headache in the first five minutes I stayed in the room. Therefore, we had to leave the room and book another hotel. The carpet was filthy. The bed was dirty, the restroom falling apart.
I spent just five minutes in the room, and I returned the key.
Room was spacious, clean and beautiful. The hallways a common areas were clean and the ice machine worked (you will be surprised how many hotels don’t have working ice machines). I appreciated the fully stocked market in the hotel and the breakfast was delicious and affordable.
I love this hotel, esp. the workout facilities. But they've been renovating FORever, so still a mess inside. But nice staff and helpful longtime security person. I've stayed here for years and will continue to go there, just can't wait for the renovations to finish.
It was located in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood that was very close to downtown Silver Spring, MD. The home was close to many stores, a mall, and metro station. The apartment was recently renovated and had high quality appliances.
I like that the place was clean, the staff was nice, and the place was convenient. It is located in downtown silver spring and there are a lot of restaurants, and a mall at a walking distance from the hotel.
Breakfast was the same every day. We had the buffet breakfast but this did not include waffles or an omelette as this was an extra charge. So we wouldn’t have breakfast at the hotel another time.
Sound proofing of rooms is not as good as I've experienced in other hotels. Otherwise, it was great. Staff was friendly. I especially enjoyed your weekday bartender Johann.
Great value, much better than a standard hotel room. Not fancy, but really practical and well done. Staff were very friendly and I'd definitely stay again. Very clean.
Nothing. This stay was a nightmare. I totally got ripped off. I wasn’t told this property changed from a Doubletree by Hilton to a low budget hotel with rats and mice.
Close to Silver City downtown and metro station. The room was recently renovated and very clean and comfortable. Best pillows ever had in any hotels across the globe.
