Great location that meets basic needs. Since you would most likely choose this property for the convenience of seeing Mt. Ranier NP, you shouldn't expect a 5-star experience here. Alexanders Lodge met all of our needs and expectations as a great place to crash after a long day out in nature.

The setting of the house is welcoming, wooded, and pastoral. The instructions to access our room were easy to follow. There were ample towels and toiletries. The bed was comfortable, and the climate control within the space was sufficient.

Great location right outside Mt. Rainer, full kitchen and a great hot tub to soak in after a day of hiking. Primary bedroom on the main floor was comfortable and easily accessible.
Ashford was great! If you want to take your dog hiking find a place outside mt rainier, no dogs allowed. There is a nice hike very close to juniper cabin. It's very easy and very nice. Must walk there. There is no parking.

The property was perfect, only a few miles away from the entrance to a great national park. Since you have a limited selection of restaurants and grocery stores, it offers you the opportunity to cook in. Would definitely recommend it to others.

The local restaurants are great, especially the Wild Berry, the sherpa food one. The woman who ran Alexander's Lodge was awesome, she went over and beyond trying to make people happy. Very pretty setting, nice rooms and the sitting room was extra room to spread out. I would go back!

Surprising Food, Comfortable Stay
Surprising Food, Comfortable Stay
Ashford is a service town for Mount Rainier National Park. Strung out along Highway 706 for the last few miles before the entrance, it's great for mountaineers and tourists. I ate at the Wild Berry Cafe, owned and operated by Sherpa immigrants who bring their food and culture to this tiny, rural corner of Washington State.
The Gateway Inn, adjacent to the Nisqually Gate of the Park, is a comfortable older hotel. It's a perfect basecamp for a short stay or as the beginning or ending overnight spot for your adventure. I stayed in one of the older cabins, warm and cozy, on my recent overnight business trip. It worked perfectly as I celebrated a couple's sunrise wedding in the park!

Very close to the National Park.
Very close to the National Park. Great place to stay if you're going to the Paradise area of Mount Rainier. We ate at the Copper Creek Inn Restaurant, It was decent. The cider we got there in the gift area was very good.
The house is clean and tidy the keys are in a locked box if need to access with code, and there is a door code as well. Everything is detailed and explained clearly. It is so close to the access of Longmire, Mount Rainier, you don't have to drive hours to enter. The town has cute little local restaurants and everything is cozy and relaxing. Across the house is a small lake if you want to take a swim or sit and just admire.
Key's in lock-box at gate to property with combo provided by host. When I booked lodging I indicated 2 adults; but upon realizing my error I contacted host to clarify that 4 adults would be staying. Host indicated no problem and that he would contact his people to make sure home was ready for 4 adults. Location was the reason for renting this property as it is only 5 miles from SW entry to Mt. Rainier NP.
The house was off the beaten path and afforded seclusion and quiet. Nothing was lacking for our one night stay. The back yard led down to a creek where some deer roamed. Just across the street deer also roamed. It afforded excellent access to nearby Rainier Park.
I loved the little cabin which from the outside blends in with the small town of Ashford but then opens up to be a very modern and stylish lodge. Big TV with cable service. And the bathroom had a heated floor which was very nice in the morning!
Nice antique hotel in a great location to Mt Rainier NP. It’s great for couple or family vacation. We enjoyed the charming parlor, the pond and the trail. We regret that we only stayed one night there. If we ever return, we would stay longer.
The hotel is right outside of the gate of Mount Rainier. Very friendly and helpful front desk. The cabin is very spacious with plenty of facilities. Very quiet at night and guarantees a great sleep.
