Austin is a vibrant city with an eclectic mixture of old and new. It has a vibrancy that only comes from a city on the move! You can still get plenty of authentic Texas bbq and tex mex fare as well as other good restaurants. Public transport is excellent and easy and inexpensive to use.

The airport is not a pleasant one.
The airport is not a pleasant one. I hope I never have to return to Austin. The place is not comfortable. They don't have sleep pods or Minute Suites. The baggage claim disorganization is almost as bad as Miami and they aren't as big or busy as an excuse.

Modern, friendly city.
Modern, friendly city. Generally clean with lovely green spaces. Not a lot of historical interest so better for short visits.
Some areas a bit seedy & too much emphasis on it being a great place for music - most of what we heard was poor ! We found food & drinks surprisingly expensive.

Austin is a great town.
Austin is a great town. There are tons of great restaurants, shops, parks, outdoor activities, bars and dance clubs. Everything was within walking distance or a short uber/Lyft drive away. I would highly recommend visiting Austin. But, probably not in the summer :|

Austin was an unexpectedly beautiful and pleasant city.
Austin was an unexpectedly beautiful and pleasant city. Walkable parks and downtown. The Capitol is beautiful and UT campus is really nice.Lots to see and visit. Many great restaurants and, of course, music venues. The neighborhoods are beautiful, especially around SoCo (but I wouldn't be able to buy a house there).

This city is much larger than I expected and is growing rapidly. There are wonderful things to see and do and the people are wonderful. We took an hour long river boat ride where the skyline and 'lake' was explained. We went to live music at the smaller stage at the ACL. We took a 3 hour long tour of haunted sites. We were there for the eclipse but we drove out of the city to the Hill Country outside of Austin which was delightful. Unfortunately the transportation infrastructure in Austin is just not able to accommodate all that growth so traffic is quite a problem and there is almost no public transportation.
Beautiful property in a great location - removed from all the hustle and bustle of downtown yet close enough to get there if you so desire. Came here wanting an escape for a couple of days, and that’s exactly what I got! Feels more like Florence/Tuscany than Texas! Clean, well-appointed room with a view of the hills on the west side. Staff is very friendly, and the pool area is heavenly! Definitely a hidden gem in the Austin area!
The hotel was great! it was clean, the room was spacious & the bed was so comfortable & big! I had a room with a bathtub & the shower was also great. The staff were incredibly polite, helpful & welcoming, I had an absolutely great stay! I will definitely be back 👍🏽
The location is a 10 minute cab drive from Downtown Austin & it’s really easy to get to. The price was also very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area.
The location is great. I didn't have a car, but it was very close walking distance to downtown Austin and the venues in East Austin. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were nice. I had a room with a shared bathroom. I never had to wait to use the shared facilities. They were always available. The showers all had great pressure and hot water. And it was a good deal for a weeklong stay.
When visiting the USA we like to stay in Historic Houses. We also had a great time at breakfast talking to other people staying at the property. Barb and the team were great fun. Hyde Park is an interesting area away from downtown Austin. Uber in to Austin is cheaper than parking and easier. Also visit Avenue b Grocery and market for excellent sandwiches. Easy walk to restaurants.
Brandnew hotel in a beautiful, revitalized location in close vicinity to a park and a variety of entertainment and dining opportunities. Public transit options to downtown Austin in walking distance. Bright and stylish decor of the hotel, comfortable rooms with spacious bathrooms. The staff at check-in and at the valet service was very friendly and oustandingly helpful!
The location is brilliant - right in the centre of downtown, next to the Capitol. We walked everywhere and there are public buses nearby to get to different parts of Austin (including one that goes directly to the aiport).
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, beds very comfortable and excellent shower pressure. Good WiFi signal.
The hotel was centerally located in Austin downtown which made it easier for us to get to the locations we needed in a timely matter. The staff was very professional, helpful and nice. The staff's attitude was awesome made the stay at Aloft even nicer. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Undoubtedly the finest accommodation in Austin, Texas. The design is exquisite, with stunning rooms, and the security staff is both kind and approachable. Additionally, there's a charming Starbucks conveniently located within the hotel. The perfect location adds to the overall appeal.
This was an affordable room for our stay for the eclipse. We liked being on the top floor and being in close proximity to downtown Austin. It was easy to get on the highway from the hotel and was only a few minutes away from most things we wanted to do.
The renovation are beautiful. The hotel is located right off the highway make it super easy to commute. Downtown is only about 10-15 minutes away. This hotel is a nice location and I will definitely be using them on my next trip to Austin.
It is strategically located near 6th Street which is one block over. It was safe for walking late, late at night. Street food was available for really, late nights. Tons of bars and restaurants with a variety of music genres.
Excellent location, friendly staff, comfortable bed and quiet room. Price was lower end of downtown hotels but still wasn't what I would call "cheap." Overall solid experience and would stay here again
It was a nice stay, next time I will choose this hotel again! It was clean, comfy, and the location is good, you can easily reach downtown or university less then in 20 min. Staff was very kind!
The breakfast was incredible and the hotel is in a prime location in Austin. No, it's not close to South Congress or Downtown, but you can get the same quality of experience in Northwest Austin.
The view from my room of the Colorado River was exceptional. The hotel is well-located downtown and has great amenities onsite, including a bar, roof-top restaurant, pool, and gym.
Priced competitively compared to many other Austin hotels but after finding a 71$/night La Quinta in downtown, that competitive advantage won't last long
