The Legend of the West
San Antonio in Texas is home to 2 of the state’s top attractions: The Alamo and the Riverwalk. One of the city’s former Spanish missions, the Alamo was the site of a deadly battle that cost folk hero Davy Crockett his life. The other remaining missions - Concepcion, San Jose, San Juan, and Espada with its aqueduct - are dotted around the city. The attractive Spanish Governor’s Palace also remains.
The San Antonio River runs right through the city, below street level. Known as the Riverwalk, its banks have been cleverly developed to house riverfront restaurants, bars and shops, and are spectacularly lit for Christmas. There are several San Antonio hotels by the Riverwalk which are also close to the Rivercenter Mall, the city’s biggest shopping center, while La Villita artisan village has more traditional crafts.
Across the road in Hemisfair is the Tower of the Americas, a tall observation tower with a revolving restaurant overlooking the Alamodome, a huge sports and convention venue, home to the annual Alamo Bowl collegiate football game. Booking.com has several San Antonio hotels near the Alamodome, and more accommodations near San Antonio Airport.
On the outskirts of the city are Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The city also hosts the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the country’s biggest Western events.

I found San Antonio to be a very clean city in the area that we were in which was near the Riverwalk. I felt safe in the area which was well lit. We toured the Louis Tussaud's Wax Works, Ripley's Believe It Or Not and the Illusion Lab which we enjoyed immensely! I would also recommend that visitors to San Antonio dine at the Magic Time Machine! since I have never been to Texas, I loved the airport when I arrive. it is not overwhelming like the NY airports. easy to get a car rental and the town has a lot to see and restaurants are just as nice. I was concerned at first that I would not be able navigate around the city but I was completely wrong…first night I walked to The Alamo, did the mission tour, ate at Pinkerton’s bbq..the locals are friendly and very hospitable..I enjoyed the river boat tour…I would avoid eating at The Riverwalk the food was not a great example Texmex food.

My room was great we had a separate, shower and Jacuzzi we also had a separate outside area just for us this was so special to us this is the place to stay when in San Antonio. We ate at the restaurant on the property the four brothers twice breakfast and dinner we also ate off the property. We checked out very early the staff had a taxi waiting for us I can’t say enough about the hotel and staff.

A great city to visit! So much to learn about Texas History! Also, so very many choices of activities! The construction in downtown was frustrating to drive around! I would avoid the park & pay, because I’m not good with some things on my phone. (I am 75) We ate on the Riverwalk!

For the price we paid, it’s not at all worth it, fridge didn't work in 100 degree temprature.and owner didn't even inform us, NO DISHWASHER IN THE UNIT. Don’t stay at this location.

Overall it was a good stay and my husband and I had a great time. We would stay here again.
