We loved everything about La Vela Hotel. The infinity pool and pool area are stunning! Our corner suite was spacious and a great place to rest after a busy day touring or shopping. The quality of the fitting, furniture and decor was excellent. The service was outstanding and the staff so very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay pleasurable. Definitely going back again next time we are in HCMC!

Varied breakfast menu. Staff was all extremely helpful. The bellman, Mr An was very helpful. I was ill a lot while I was there, and the staff, especially Mr An, helped me so many ways! The last thing he did was help me get a wheelchair and navigate checkin at the airport!

Highly recommend to stay here when visiting Ho Chi Minh. It is well located so that you can reach most sightseeings by walking. Plus it is in a rather quiet street so you get some time off from the very busy city. The facility is clean and the breakfast and afternoon tea (which is much more than just tea) offered a lot of good choices. Once they even had live music. Above all the staff was exceptional. Always smiling, very attentive and helping proactively. We also tried one of their recommended restaurants (Quan Bui), which turned out to be really good.

Asian Tradition, French Flair and Growing Modernity
With delicious Vietnamese aromas, small silk shops and ancient pagodas, the streets of Ho Chi Minh City dazzle tourists with their vibrant atmosphere. Its rich culture includes beautiful French colonial palaces mixed with modern skyscrapers that show the power of Vietnam’s economic capital.
Whether you decide to visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the City Hall, or the Municipal Theater, you’ll see the care shown by Saigonese people in preserving their historic legacy. On the other hand, the Haussmann-style boulevards are typically packed with small motorcycles that make every street crossing a whole new experience.
Contemporary Saigon can be seen in places like the Bitexco Financial Tower, located directly at central Ham Nghi Blvd. Meanwhile, Saigon Center or Zen Plaza are some of its modern shopping malls.
For a look into Vietnam’s recent history, don’t miss the Reunification Palace or the War Remnants Museum. A sunset visit to the 23rd September Park is the best way to mingle with the locals.

A frenetic city which has much to offer travellers.
A frenetic city which has much to offer travellers. Learning about the history and seeing images of its war torn past was very moving. Definitely recommend taking a guided tour. Taxis are very cheap and safer than trying to navigate the crazy traffic!
Then there is the fun of bargaining at the markets, finding the best pho, taking some cooking lessons or city tours by jeep - you will find it all in HCMC.

There is so much to see and do in the city from tours to picnics, enjoying local food or food from around the world, hitting the roads on a scooter, enjoying walking in D1 or hitting lively night spots in D2. I found a wonderful restaurant in D2 called District Federal that I just loved. I also still return to my favorites in Phu My Hung: My Thai, Margeri, Uratei, Pizza 4'P's, LaFiesta, Tokyp Deli, Pho, Banhn Mi 362. I have also stayed at Golden Tree Hotel in Phu My Hung several times and love the neighborhood. It is easy to have a relaxing morning here and then jump on a bike and explore D1 and D2.

Vibrant city - but beware of the traffic when walking - need to learn how to cross the road with so many motorbikes and cars coming at you. Be forceful and confident and u will survive. There are some good tours to do to the Mekong Delta - do a cooking glass and explore the Ben Thanh market - many bargains to be got but they will come at you so be prepared. We stayed out at Landmark 81 for a bit so went up the tower, but unless you happen to be out there, i am nit sure if its actually worth it - its not really cheap - but if you want a birds eye view of the city, its the place to go. Enjoy Ho Chi Minh.

y experience in Ho Chi Minh City was a mix of highlights and challenges; while I enjoyed the vibrant food scene and found the Cu Chi Tunnels fascinating, the crowded streets, chaotic motorbike traffic, and the heat made navigating the city difficult, and my hotel was not as expected, lacking comfort and quality despite its great location.

Great location in District 1 with many restaurants, cafes and bars in walking distance. The hotel is a little dated but was everything we wanted for a short stay in Ho Chi Minh City. Also the service from the staff aaa outstanding, very friendly, polite and helpful. Particular thanks to Ehaw (I’m sorry about the spelling!) - he really stood out to us for his great customer service, thank you!
Excellent location: the very center of Ho Chi Minh City (District 1) but thanks to the fact that the building is located in the courtyard - peace and quiet. In general, the noise of the big city didn't bother at all.
Cordial and helpful owner. He helped organize everything what was needed.
Very central location in District 1. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel and rooms were very clean but a bit dated. Having said that the hotel was excellent value for the money and would stay there again if in Ho Chi Minh City!
Great hotel right in the centre of district 1 and close to beer street. The hotel has a working lift and a sky bar giving a view across the city. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is of good quality with plenty of choice.
Great location. Right in the heart of District 1, near Ben Thanh market. The room is okay. I booked a room without a window. Breakfast is relatively varied and tasty. Good service from the hotel staff.
