Go see it up close!
Go see it up close! You can really see how tall it is and why the monument was considered the tallest building when it was first built. Didn't get to go inside, but you can sit around it (on grass or benches) and just admire the entire area. Especially on a sunny day, it is just so beautiful. Go during the day and go back during the night when it is lit up. Such a different experience - both are great!

It was clean and looked like it was recently painted. The little kitchenette made it feel like a small apartment. There was a bag of ice in the refrigerator which was a very nice touch. The location was in close proximity to the White House and the Washington Monument. We arrived before noon, too early to check in, however the front desk still let us park in their garage. Which turned out to be a good thing as the garage was full later in the afternoon when we did check in.

The location is good for a walk to Union Station and attractions like US Capitol and Washington Monument. Paid parking is available in the hotel (although a bit pricy), but it took away my car parking worries. I did not try any but could see a lot of eateries around. Good place to stay.

I also really liked the lighting on the mirrors. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is brilliant for the mall and tidal basin, as well as the White House and Washington monument.
