The location was great, short bus ride from the main JR station and walking distance to the other station with connections to Osaka and Kyoto. The onsen was lovely with an open air pool. Very clean. The room had all the amenities you’d need, including Yukata and slippers as well as decent toiletries. There was a separate bath and toilet in a very large bathroom with a separate dressing area

It’s not a fancy place but the location is ideal and it’s very clean and if you’re accustomed to the size of rooms in Japan it’s very comfortable. It’s a great bonus to have the option of a bath. Single traveller should realize that the Japanese style rooms are priced for two people which is always the case but there are single rooms available with so-called western bed. One big bonus is the gentleman who seems to be the owner or manager. He’s totally on top of everything very nice.

We had previously paid $300 per night at a ryonkan of similar standard in Kyoto and this was almost as much value for a much lower price. The room was huge. The location was the best we'd had during our stay as it is right near the food market and main part of town. The staff were so lovely. The Onsen was wonderful although I recommend getting there soon after 5pm when it is filled as it cools down quickly.
