The rooms are exceptionally spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax and unwind. The customer service was outstanding—staff members were attentive, friendly, and always willing to help with anything I needed. FAQs about hotels in Catania

The Perfect Combination of Ancient and Modern

On Sicily’s eastern coast, at the foot of Mount Etna, Catania is the island’s second largest city. This charming destination features unique Sicilian Baroque architecture, large squares, avenues and a very important port.

On the northern side of the Cathedral Square, the historical Palazzo degli Elefanti houses the Town Hall of Catania. The Elephant Fountain is the city’s symbol and the entrance to the main shopping area. Surrounded by stunning Baroque buildings, Piazza del Duomo is a popular meeting point for tourists and locals.

Dedicated to Saint Agata and built over the Roman Baths of Achilles, the Duomo has an impressive facade that is one of Gia Battista Vaccarini’s masterpieces. The cathedral’s dome dates to 1802, while in the vaulted interior is the grave of the well-known composer Vincenzo Bellini.

Facing the Ionian Sea, this beautiful seaside place is one the hottest Italian cities during the summer. Mount Etna is an active volcano and a nice place for skiing in winter or a trip to the solidified rivers of lava during the rest of the year.

Catania is easily accessible with Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, served by numerous European destinations like Munich, Rome and London. You can stay in one of the Catania hotels, guesthouses or hostels with Booking.com.

Catania is a beautiful city with a rich history, full of...

Catania is a beautiful city with a rich history, full of interesting places and an amazing atmosphere. However, it is not very clean by European standards - there is garbage almost everywhere, and some of the buildings look rather neglected. On the other hand, I find that to be one of the most fascinating things about Catania: despite these flaws, the city still looks great, and the difference in lifestyle that causes this situation is part of its unique charm. The food was excellent, and if you choose restaurants based on reviews, every dinner becomes an experience. If your budget allows, it’s better to rent a car, as public transport is a disaster (again, by European standards). The buses themselves are fine, though sometimes dirty, but the real issue lies in the schedules and lack of information. Bus stops have no timetables, some buses arrive 30 minutes late or are cancelled altogether, and every day they were rerouted from the main street from 3 p.m. without any information about the new routes. That said, the intercity buses were excellent. I can wholeheartedly recommend a trip to picturesque Taormina or Syracuse - the buses run frequently, are reliable, and the tickets are reasonably priced. Taormina has more beautiful beaches than Catania, but there are also hidden gems to be found along Catania’s coastline. I especially appreciated how the city cares for its citizens, with frequent water faucets and public showers and restrooms at some beaches. If you embrace the city’s atmosphere and its way of life, you will have an amazing trip.

We were really disappointed of Catania !

We were really disappointed of Catania ! It was really dirty and dilapidated. Nothing is well maintened and public transport are bad. A lot of things are abandoned and seems really old. Just one day here is a sufficient time to visit the city. BUT you need to stay one night in the old city. Because, when the night comes, the city becomes really nice and crowded !

We had 2 stays in Catania, one for 3 nights at the start of our Sicily leg and one more night at the end when flying out. Catania has a grandness in some parts but 2 nights is plenty time to explore the city before moving on to the smaller towns and beautiful coast in Sicily.

Catania is a city of striking contrasts — charming and unmistakably Sicilian, yet undeniably gritty once you wander beyond the polished tourist areas. Still, its soul shines through in the warmth and friendliness of its people. It’s the kind of place you have to experience at least once in your life! A trip to Mount Etna is a must. I wasn’t entirely convinced when booking it, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of my visit. Food lovers will be in heaven here — from street snacks to family-run trattorias, there’s something for every taste. Let Google Maps guide you, and trust the reviews. Getting from the airport is simple: hop on the Alibus (4 euros return), grab a taxi from the many waiting outside, or use Uber. For a day at the beach, take bus Line D from the central bus station near the Duomo — and enjoy the ride as much as the destination.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable, with an excellent kitchen, bathroom and living area. It is located very close to the markets and restaurants. Two supermarkets were located just in front of the apartment. The location is also close to a bus terminal with connections to/from the airport and to other towns around Sicily. This is a great place to stay for exploring Catania and the surrounding area. Alberto was very nice and helpful. He was rather good in english so it was very easy to communicate with him.

The location was excellent with plenty of restaurants within metres of the hotel. Fabio was an excellent host, met us at the door and even carried my wife's luggage up a flight of stairs. He also gave recommendations for local sightseeing. The room was very easily the most spacious and biggest we have stayed in in Italy. Breakfast on the terrace was fantastic. I would highly recommend Bellini Inn Dr luxe yo everyone for their stay in Catania.

Very typical business style like hotel but also perfect for when you land late at night at Airport and don't want to travel far to start your Sicily Trip as we did. Nice bar / restaurant still available for a late night (at least late for us Northern Europeans :-) dinner. Nice breakfast. We were there early spring, so the pool was still closed and the beach (across the street) to cold.

The hotel is close to the airport and close to road connections. The rooms are big and nice. The hotel provides free transportation to the airport, which is welcome because, despite the fact that the airport is a 10-minute walk away, the road does not have a sidewalk. The restaurant is very good, but the prices are a little higher than those in Catania.
