We loved Irma from the reception. She was very helpful and friendly, she’s speaking four languages. It is very rare service here in Spain. We loved the two rooms in front of each other. Everything was clean and neat. Our doggie felt comfortable. The lovely and picturesque beach is just 7 minutes away by foot. It’s also clean and neat. Rooftop with the bar is amazing, especially at sunset. I Would definitely recommend it!

Costa Dorada Thrills and Spills

Like all Costa Dorada resorts, Salou has a fantastic beach and fun water sports. But it’s the wide, palm-lined promenade that really makes it stand out. Boutiques and exclusive restaurants line its western end, while in the east the bay curves to a point where a sculpture leans out to sea. Head there for lovely views of the sandy beach and distant mountains.

Further round the coast towards Cap Salou the beach becomes rocky coves, while inland is PortAventura, Spain’s most visited theme park. This huge complex includes rides and roller coasters in themed zones, and a water park with slides, flumes and pools galore. Also here is Lumine, a golf club featuring 2 courses designed by Greg Norman.

Next door is Port Halley shopping center which also has a 3D cinema and bowling alley. The best shopping in Salou though is in the old town, where designer shops stay open until late.

Other Salou attractions include the dancing Font Illuminosa fountains, Bosc Aventura’s high ropes, and Aquopolis - a great water park for younger children. Although the town has plenty of arcades, clubs and bars, peace and quiet can be found.

Reus Airport is the nearest and it’s around a 20 minute drive from there to the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Salou bookable on Booking.com.

    Been here three times now with friends and family I can recommend this fantastic place for young and adults. Lots to do here especially family with young children, I mean Salou is for everyone. Not far from Reus Airport.

    Really liked the beaches.

    Really liked the beaches. Loved the location as a regional base for exploring Costa Dorado. Loads of buses & tour offers. Got the bus to Tarragona which was nice. Tour excursion to Montserrat. Fabulous weather. Too many cheap shops with jerseys & cheap souvenirs. Felt a bit hassled at night with people ushering you into their food or drinks establishment.

    Salou was very cute, nicest beach was Playa de Ponent, we found (paid) outdoor parking nearby - easy to get in and out. Prices not too bad at local cafes/ beach bars / restaurants. Would return.

    Very much a family holiday place.

    Very much a family holiday place. No stag or hen parties and no rowdy groups. Plenty of variety to keep the whole family entertained. The fountain area was beautiful at night all lit up and the wide promenade safe for wandering. The main shopping area has enough choice to keep everyone happy. The Plana bus company offers a frequent service all along the coast and is great value for money. Nearby Cambrils is worth a visit.

    Salou is very well located — not too far from Barcelona and close to Reus, Cambrils, and Tarragona. You can even take a train to Madrid from Camp Tarragona if needed. The promenade is beautiful, lined with palm trees and lots of amenities. The sea is not too deep and surprisingly warm even in April. It’s also close to PortAventura, and there are plenty of places to eat and drink. There are beachside playgrounds, parking options, and all the main fast-food chains like McDonald’s, KFC, and Burger King. A great destination for families and couples alike, with beautiful views, good connections, and lots to do.

    We recently stayed at the Golden Port Solou Hotel over the Easter holidays and I have to say we really enjoyed our stay the staff at reception, maids, and especially the dining and bar staff were excellent so friendly and helpful we had booked two Premier rooms for a family of six the rooms were very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the spa facilities, great location too. We would definitely love to return to the Golden Port Salou Hotel.

    Second time at Jaime I, amazing for family’s. Rooms are nice and clean after refurbishment. Our room was cleaned everyday and towels changed. Amazing entertainment during day and evening as well. Big playground for kids, good location. Close to Salou city centre, sea. Splash park amazing for kids, plenty of sun beds. Food is good, different and you always have choice. Fruits, deserts, ice cream. Perfect hotel for family’s. Definitely we will come again.

    Room was perfect. Daily cleaning. Were on the 6th floor, nice view. Hotel close to almost anything to assist your needs and wants, Near the beach and Salou bus terminal. Breakfast were very good, omelette cooked with fillings as you want. Fruits , cereals and great selection on bread, cheese, sausages and cold cuts.

    Beautiful hotel friendly staff great location comfy beds breakfast was excellent something for everyone the Cava was also a lovely touch.It was our second time staying at the Delfín and would highly recommend it for anyone travelling to Salou! Will definitely stay here again!
