CanadaThe owner/operators are an amazingly kind and hospitable couple. They went above and beyond during my five night stay. If we didn’t have it, they provided it. Really, REALLY, nice folks. The property is a motel, that is you drive up to your door, which is very traditional. It’s not hotel with concierge, five star dining, etc. So if that is what you’re looking for, look elsewhere. If you’re seeking comfort, cleanliness, in a quiet location, yet close to all amenities, this is the place. As a former military member, I’ve stayed in everything from dumps to palaces, this place is one of the most comfortable places I have ever stayed.

Amherst is wonderfully located for numerous day trips in central Nova Scotia - day trips along the Northumberland shore and along the Bay of Fundy are both easy. Not to be missed is the guided tour at the Joggins Fossil Cliffs. A stop at Deanne Fitzpatrick Studios should be a mandatory stop - the artistic rug hooking is awe-inspiring.
