Beautiful small valley with recognizable topology but everything is expensive there; transportation, food, shopping, activities… we booked Green tour and ATV sport, which were decent. We could not see the hot air balloons - didn't know that 40% of the time it is cancelled due to wind. We should've stayed longer so we could see them. But the scenery is breathtaking. It is a short hop from Istanbul, then one hour drive to Goreme but it's totally worth it. We did Sunset ATV tours and hired a guide to see highlights. Two days was more than enough.
Two days was more than enough. In hindsight, one night would be enough, and I would recommend staying in Nevşehir instead of Goreme. Goreme is a tourist trap where everything is overpriced and no one appreciates your patronage. They even got the ride share apps like Yandex not working in that village so the taxi mafia keep their reign going. (It did appear that Uber was working, though, which surprised our hotel manager). And anyway, there is no reason to stay in Goreme, as everything you do is outside that town anyway. Stay in Nevşehir and just go check out Goreme one time. (Note: They even charge you to walk to the viewpoint on top of the hill! It's really a sad scene.)Guest review byChristopherUnited States - 10.0

the hotel and rooms were clean and well designed. this is the only hotel that has a decent size pool and the pool is super clean. the breakfast options are great, lots of items made in house. the owner and the staff are super friendly and always there to help. the bar has great cocktail options, a good wine selection. Excellent place with lovely hotels and many restaurants and shops. Surroundings are amazing. Easy to organise a time because there are so many travel agents. Possible to walk from the town on the track to explore stone formations. I paid 60 euros on 12 June for a balloon flight. The hotel is centrally located and not too much up hill and a short distance from the center which makes it a cherry on top.
