The birthplace of Picasso is as colorful as an artists palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and youll find your place among the youthful square of the old center, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.
There's also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.
A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga 's most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 6 miles from the center of town.
From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you're sure to find the perfect place to stay for your sunny vacation.

Malaga is a very nice city to visit and see the innercity of Midevil history but as well you are close enough to beaches where you can soak your feet or have great food and drinks at the harbor. There is a mixed of adult activities. It is not pricy so there are many options to eat on a budget.

I absolutely loved Malaga.
I absolutely loved Malaga. This was my first visit, and this city was perfect for me. Compact, clean and nice, not too crowded (May/June), very nice city beach (La Malagueta). The choice of good local affordable food is almost overwhelming. Lively but not stressful atmosphere.
Must sees for my preferences was the food market (Mercado central de Atarazanas), the arab fortress Alcazaba and Castillo de Gibralfaro, the beach, the old town itself and the Museo del Automóvil y la Moda de Málaga. There are plenty more, and the list of museums will keep you busy for several visits.
Also it does not feel too touristy, the Spanish speaking crowd seem to well outweigh foreigners and you are more likely to be addressed in Spanish than any other languages most of the time, but think you will get by by only English too

Our Hotel was in the old town.
Our Hotel was in the old town. The view from our room was of the old roofs and nearby churches. We felt like residents and the town was much more interesting than I had expected. The population were very disciplined and there was no litter and hardly any Graffiti.

I had no idea that Malaga was such a beautiful city as I've only been to the airport in the past. This time however, we had the chance to drive through the city centre and admire the vibrance and the architecture of our surroundings. I would have loved to have stayed longer. Our Parador de Málaga Gibralfaro overnight stay was perfect as usual for a Parador with breathtaking veiws of the city. Highly recommended.

Malaga is a fabulous city.
Malaga is a fabulous city. Take a taxi from the bottom of Calle Larios up to the Parador Gibralfaro for lunch and then walk back down to the Alcazabar, which is a MUST visit. It’s a smaller version of the Alhambra.
A walk around the port area is nice and then the historic centre of the city has a wonderful atmosphere.
Don’t forget to visit the Picasso museum and the cathedral.
We just happened onto this hotel on Booking.com and it looked interesting. but it greatly exceeded our expectations. the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The entire facility is beautifully decorated, the room was huge, had a large outdoor deck and a tremendous view of Malaga and the sea. The restaurant overlooks the sea and served us a lovely dinner even though it was almost 11pm when we arrived.
we easily walked along the beach boardwalk to the main part of Malaga old town.
Location was superb and although it’s central to the old town it’s very quiet. The staff were very good and efficient and gave great restaurant tips. The bed is very comfortable. the shower excellent. The hotel is very clean. I had a room with no external windows which although was a bit cheaper I would have opted to pay for windows if I had known it’s less joyful to relax during the day. I didn’t include breakfast as there are good immediate options but it looked good.
Location, attention to clients needs and interests.
Excellent place and setting for solo travellers and seniors. Just outside is a bus stop which covers routes to all parts of the city and good restaurants and an excellent vegan/ vegetarian one. Beach , maritama and wonderful chiringuitos are a block away and most cultural attractions are a comfortable walk from hotel. It is like my second home as I stay here on my frequent trips into Malaga.
This hotel is wonderully located - just in the centre of Malaga, a walking distence to Old Town, port, beach etc. The hotels' design is uniquelly pretty and up to date. The rooms are super comfortable and sound proof. I especially liked the small yet meaningfull details like bathrobes, cosmetics provided and a free-standing bathtub that gives you an opportunity to overlook the port and sea while actually taking a bath! Well done!
Our room was luxurious, clean and comfortable. The staff were amazing and extremely accommodating. Sara went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. The location is great. Anahita Boutique Hotel is very central while also being only a short walk to the beach. We stayed here for three nights and we could not have asked for a better stay. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Malaga. We will be sure to return!
The staff were super nice and helpful, giving us a warm welcome, tips and directions around Malaga and the option to leave our luggage after checkout. The rooms were great - clean and with everything needed. The location of the hotel was also very good - within walking distance to the Historic centre and right next to train station (where you would arrive from the airport). Definitely would recommend!
Impeccably clean rooms, very diverse breakfast with plenty of space in the breakfast room, very friendly staff throughout the hotel (reception, breakfast, gym etc). The gym is bigger than the usual facility which was of added value. Valet parking is efficient and saved us from the headache of finding a parking. The hotel is about 15 min walking distance from the old town of Malaga.
Located close to the beach and had free parking in the street. Spacious apartment with lots of rooms and beds. Clean kitchen and shower. We really liked the nearby Huelin neighborhood for food and drinks with the locals instead of the touristy old town. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They offered us to stay longer and also to take us to the airport for our flight home.
The location is excellent for walking around Malaga city - right beside the old town, lovely part of town, easy access to the beach and port, bars and restaurants within minutes of walking from the Hotel. The roof top area in the Hotel was a lovely place to relax in the afternoon - but get up there before 16.00hrs!!! The best beds will be taken!!
If you are flying out of Malaga, this hotel is perfect. Only 7 minutes from the airport, $9.00 Uber ride. It was a great way to end a three week vacation in Spain - we could easily walk to the beach for a last look at the sea and the food was better then expected right at the hotel. Staff spoke great English, which was helpful on our last night.
This hotel has an excellent location. About 15 minutes from the train station and 3 minutes to the city's old town/center.
It's been quite quiet, the windows isolated the noise pretty good.
The room was clean and the staff was polite and friendly. Nice view also! I would 100% return when in Malaga!
beautiful small hotel with Colonial styling. our room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. the location was the best for all attractions including the old town, port, restaurants, nightlife, and transport links. staff were superb and breakfast excellent. I wouldn’t use any other hotel in Malaga
stayed there for 2 nights to explore Malaga historic centre and beach. it was great value for money you can’t find anything cheaper in Malaga staying in the heart of the old town.
the room was simple but more than enough for the purpose, good share bathroom and very quiet at night
Hotel location very good, near the station but also only 10 mins walk to the old town and centre. Staff very friendly and helpful and good sized rooms, with comfy beds. Have used this hotel several times and would return when we next go to Malaga.
The hotel is in an excellent location. just a few minutes walk to the heart of the old town and only 5 minutes walk to the train station for Malaga airport (a 12 minute train ride!). All the staff were welcoming and helpful. a great stay!
The Soho Urban Hotel is a great place to stay when in Malaga. The hotel's location is more residential than touristy yet super close to everything; the beach, the old market, museums and restaurants.
Very well located. Walking distance to the Marina, Old town, Train or Bus station. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would try first when were next in Malaga looking for a hotel.
