The staff was excellent and professional. The food was michellin quality.. The location was chalinging to get to. But very manageable. Fransico the Manager was exceptional accomadating. Greay value, especially if you are after a exceptional low key experience.

One of the most beautiful places in the World. Don’t miss this area. Stay out of the large city. A vineyard hotel up high would be the perfect place. You’ll be able to drive through wonderful small villages in your way. Once in your hotel you’ll probably have access to a great personal or very small tour of the vineyard production facilities. We were invited to walk in the vineyard all we wanted. Views are absolutely amazing. We also stayed at the Barrel hotel which was touristy and filled with buses. Get up and away from the tourist crowd. We drive there Valley by car. It was easy and gorgeous.Mary Jo - 10Scored 10
Lovely region where you can explore vineyards and nice food.
Lovely region where you can explore vineyards and nice food. It is worth doing a wine tasting with visit to know the details about wine making and the varities of grapes. The landscape is exquisite and you feel an inner peace looking down the Douro river and the vineyards. The people are warm and happy, always ready to help. It is better to go by car to enjoy the full potential of the region. Be prepared to drive on hills with many curves and narrow roads. They also produce olive oil and it is delicious!!!

I spent there 2 nights, went for a boat tour, tasting in one of the vineyards and stayed in another. The Valenca do Douro is just stunning, I couldn't stop taking photos! It was a weekend trip, so 2 nights after spending 2 nights in Porto were just perfect. If travelled for longer we would probably do more tasting in more vineyards to see differences in the processes of wine production and longer day trips from the vineyard that we stayed at.MagdalenaUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

Small village, blissful with no distractions but also no amenities. Grocery shopping best done in Regua. Fantastic for a calm and relaxing holiday and the perfect spot to explore the Douro Valley. Nearby Pinhao has good restaurants and a lovely bakery with yummy natas. Also good for river cruising. We ate at DOC - top notch hospitality, cuisine and ambiance and Vineyard Vila Gale, Quinta do Val Moreira - great hospitality and excellent food.

The Quinta has been very well refurbished with lovely interior designs by Pierre Yovanovitch. It has the most beautiful views overlooking the vineyards and the Douro River. We had a room in the main building of the hotel which was very comfortable. Enjoyed our time by the infinity pool where you can sit under the trees looking out at the view. Very friendly staff. A few years ago the property was renovated, and the architect at a fabulous job with the winery, the end, and the seamless freshwater pool. The breakfast and the dinner are just amazing. 3 different types of cakes at breakfast ... We had wonderful dinner with a lot of wine and each meal was perfectly done ! The owners are super friendluly and helpful! It was worth to do the detour from porto to lisbon and spend one very memorable night in this place. Thanks for everything

There's always food and wines. Wines were amazing, dinners were out of this world cooked by Miguel as well. There's a genuine care on everything. Never visited same place twice but we are considering it now. And mostly because we simply want to visit them again. Don't expect a standard commercial hotel. This is a very unique guest house with genuine local people.
