Located in a former 18th-century wine estate, this luxury hotel overlooks vineyards and the Douro Valley. It's an amazing hotel, best location it could possibly have. We had a wonderful breakfast outside, fresh fruit, natural orange juice and everything we could possibly want! Very helpful and friendly staff. And please go to the pool if you stay at The Vintage House!
Located in a wine producing estate, on the right bank of Douro River, Quinta De La Rosa is a family owned property, 1.2 mi from Pinhão. Rooms at this working vineyard are spread over several levels. This place is exceptional, from the amazing view to the service... it is really an outstanding quinta, with excellent wines, in an unforgettable region. Visiting during harvest season makes it even more magical.
Located in Pinhão, 24 miles from Lamego, Dois Lagares House has a shared lounge and free WiFi. Some units are air-conditioned and include a patio and/or a seating area with a flat-screen TV. New, modern, comfortable accommodation. Beautiful location. Fabulous terrace.
Located on the right bank of Douro River, in the center of Pinhão village, Casas Botelho Elias offers self-catering holiday homes in a natural setting. Aside from its great location, close to town and attractions, Pedro did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. From early communications about the area, recommendation on winery, hikes, great breakfast delivered to your door, Pedro did it all. Its a family business, with his wife and brother in law helping (they also run a great Cafe across from train station). Although busy, Pedro managed to give his personal touch at every turn. Will return!
Located in Pinhão, 23 miles from Lamego, Casa Dona Eufémia provides a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi. This is a very cute property in a mountain village in the beautiful Douro Valley. The owners are extremely accommodating and very kind!
Featuring a garden, Hostel Douro Backpackers is located in Pinhão. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Spotless clean and modern hostel, plugs, usb input and light next to each bed, clean bedding and towel, fresh breakfast on the rooftop is a great bonus, Pedro the owner is super friendly and compassionate, I'm glad I came here
Located in Pinhão in the Região Norte region, Casa Rodrigues has a patio and garden views. The vacation home features river views and is 23 miles from Lamego. casa rodrigues is near the centre of the small town pinhao, quite near to the boats and the train station. you can reach everything on foot (though it is quite a steep walk!) we highly recommend to use the trains up- and dpwnwards the river, also there is an unforgettable miradouro, called casal de loivos, about 30 min steep uphill. adriana is an attentive and welcoming host; check-in is very easy.

Lovely little village on the Douro albeit a bit run down. The front by the river is very nice and easy to access/walk. The town/station is under some renovation so I am sure it will look better after the work has been done. Not as many restaurant options as I expected. I also thought there would be more places to take walks without having to go on the narrow roads with no pavements. There are lots of boat options for taking trips along the Douro which I highly recommend as the scenery is stunning. We went on the 2 hour trip. In October it was not too busy although we did see lots of cruise boats mooring in Pinhao. I can imagine it could be very busy in peak season and difficult to get into restaurants unless you book in advance as there were lots of groups in restaurants during October. We arrived by train from Porto which was an easy, inexpensive and scenic journey. I highly recommend.
Pinhão is a super pretty village. It is a great location for walks in the vineyards and hills. It's connected by train to Porto. You can take river trips or train trips up river. It is stunning scenery. You can also visit vineyards and do wine and port tastings. You have things to do for 3 to 4 days no problem
Very well located in the Douro Valley if you are planning to visit several vineyards. The roads are not very easy, being narrow and having lots of curves however this is is certainly worth the amazing views.
Wonderful small village located in a paradise location. Many of the river boat cruises start here, very close to magnificent wineries and Porto Wine producers. You can easily spend several days here!!
Quinta Bomfin was superb. Also don't miss Qualifer on the main street for superb cured meats and a delightful staff who will ply you with samples of their meats and cheeses. Look for the red awnings to the left on themain street as you exit the station.
Town is still a small, working town with the pluses and minuses of that. It is billed as being in the "heart of the Douro" and it does feel that way - allowed us to have some sense of the area. Town itself is very accessible by train, but there is not a great deal to see/do in town itself, and range of restaurants is small. However, there are small quintas nearby to tour. We had a very informative tour at Quinta de la Rosa, and a very pleasant ride on a rabelo up the Douro on a sunny October day. It may be very crowded earlier in the summer/fall from what I understand. We were very lucky with weather, as October may apparently be rainier than we experienced. Walking paths along the river would be a treat; I was a bit disappointed not to be able to do that.
The hotel is remotely located with 30 minutes or more to other places on narrow twisty roads my husband loved to drive. The restaurant offers delicious food, but the small, set menus, which didn’t change during the 4 days we were there, did not offer enough flexibility for us. Also, they only offer their own wines, but will open and serve your wine without a corkage fee. We enjoyed hiking the property, lazing by the pool, leisurely breakfasts, and our first dinner. The views and decor are flawless, service is fantastic.
1st - the welcome from our host Francisco. He could not have been more charming in explaining everything about the villa. 2nd - the facilities were extremely comfortable both internally and externally. The garden was extensive with tomatoes growing and ready for our breakfast! 3rd - The location was quiet but was very close (certainly within walking distant) of Pinhao centre with plentiful shops bars and restaurants and more importantly various Quinta for wine & port tasting!
casa rodrigues is near the centre of the small town pinhao, quite near to the boats and the train station. you can reach everything on foot (though it is quite a steep walk!) we highly recommend to use the trains up- and dpwnwards the river, also there is an unforgettable miradouro, called casal de loivos, about 30 min steep uphill. adriana is an attentive and welcoming host; check-in is very easy.
There has a lot of renovation completed at the hotel - all top drawer as far as we could tell. You can stomp the grapes if you choose to. Restaurants were very nice with outside dining overlooking the Duoro River. A lot of hiking paths available from the Quinto de la Rosa, and a short walk into town. Hard to believe their are vineyard worked up the steep slopes along the river.
Pedro is one of the nicest hosts we met during our trip in Portugal. The apartment we stayed in was very spatious, clean and had everything we needed. The stairs to the place didn't bother us, there is not so many. Free parking on the street and nice central location. Delicious breakfast! Thank you for everything!
The property is very well laid out and have a great garden area (with WiFi). The location is very good -in the middle of the vineyards and very close to Pinhao. Tania was very helpful and friendly and gave us good tips. Very good breakfast.
This is a nice little guest house in the Douro valley. The room was spacious and breakfast was very nice. If you are wanting to travel to Quintas in the Douro valley this is a perfect location.
Lovely hotel with a great view over the River Douro. We've stopped here before and enjoy the hotel, Pinhao and the Douro valley
A quaint, comfy spot with ample access to all that the Douro Valley has to offer
Very charming hotel that keeps the good old manners of servicing the clients
Beautiful views of Douro Valley - Friendliness of hosts bringing fresh oranges and other items to our kitchen.
