The location was beautiful. A short taxi ride to the village. Beautiful pool area. The staff was very kind. Be aware water resources are very limited, and service runs on ‘village time’. Loved our trip.
Sitting in 120 hectares of Douro Valley vineyards, this traditional manor house has been converted into Portugal’s first wine hotel.

Our stay here was idyllic. The staff and property were warm, professional, and delivered consistent five star hospitality, cuisine and accommodations. The UNESCO World Heritage Douro Valley views here are the absolute best in the area. Highly recommend!

Location was amazing! Right next to train station, so easy access to/from Porto. Central to town, boat tour just outside door and a couple of wineries within walking distance. Gorgeous views.

Great spot right in town and Pedro supplied a great little breakfast! He was so helpful in giving recommendations of places to go- definitely try Jallota winery! And he made us reservations at Carvalhas for their bus tour- a must do to learn about winery intricacies. The apartment was clean and very comfortable. Pedro is super responsive and a great host.

We loved our stay at this lovely estate house. Incredible hospitality (especially from Daniel) was a major highlight. Unparalleled views of the Douro valley, and we loved taking a dip in the pool on a hot day. I recommend opting in for dinner - the food and wine were incredible. Hoping to return again sometime - it was a magical stay

Pinhão is at the heart of the Douro region and is surrounded by the most iconic Douro wineries, it's a mandatory visit if you're visiting Douro for its wines. Perfect place to stay for a few days while you explore the wineries that surround it.

It is a small town in a beautiful setting. The solar boat ride was really nice - we went in the late afternoon when most of the boat traffic had settled down. There are at least four wineries where tasting is possible (although we didn't participate). We really enjoyed the restaurant Cozinha da Clara just outside of the village - they served the best pork we had ever eaten. The Vintage House has a lot of character and is a lovely place to stay.

Pinhao is a great town to based in Douro Valley.
Pinhao is a great town to based in Douro Valley. There are tons of wineries and restaurants on the town level to walk to and also up in the hills. You can come to Pinhao by train from Porto easily and then walk or take cabs to get to wineries. Don’t leave without taking a private or group boat trip for amazing scenery. If you take the train from Pinhao to,the last stop going east and then turn around and return to Pinhao this has beautiful views too. We loved staying at Casa do Casal de Loivos (it is up in the hills but a 10 euro cab ride will take you into town). The view from there are unmatched. We also loved staying one night at Casa De La Rosa, which has an amazing restaurant and beautiful terrace with a swimming pool. You can walk into Pinhao town from Casa De La Rosa so it is a convenient location.

I recommend staying at least a night at Douro hostel, a home away from home (and honestly the best hostel I've ever stayed in, more like a guest house). Staying a night will give you the time you need to explore the hills, vineyards. Make sure to pop into the local butcher for some incredible cured pork and cheese!

We drove to Pinhão. The roads are slightly terrifying but the views are spectacular.
We were there in March so not everything was open. Best restaurant was Writers Place! The walking trails through the vineyards were fantastic!

The perfect spot to explore some of the lovely Quintas the Douro Valley has to offer. Would definitely recommend Pinhao as your base. We drove to Pinhao from Porto which was great for sight seeing and super easy. We visited the three Quintas that are within walking distance from Pinhao train station which were lovely. I’d recommend making a reservation in advance for dinners or lunch where possible. But we also did a few walk ins.
The view from the apartment’s balcony is wonderful. The view is across the small town of Pinhão and down to the Douro River & valley. The balcony is in the sun all afternoon & evening and has comfortable seating. The apartment was all very clean and the kitchen was well-equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Our stay at Hostel Douro Backpackers was terrific! Pedro and Sara were super helpful and gave great recommendations for things to do in Pinhão. The property had excellent facilities and a wonderful terrace and garden with great views. We will definitely be coming back again in the future!
We loved our stay here. Perfect spot to stay in the Pinhao area. Views were fabulous and staff were so nice. The pool was also an added bonus to cool off around.
The hotel appears to be quite new, our room was very comfortable with a large balcony, and had a great view over Pinhao and the Douro river. Breakfast was good.
